it’s more like 200,000-250,000 dead and the rest captured/injured/wounded etc…
177 weeks and 5 days left…..
More like 300,000 to 400,000 dead I reckon possibly more after infection and lack of care, which suits them.
The big leak there last year in the Duma showed the true numbers of claims for deaths and casualties and it was many times the actual number they were letting on.
russia can keep sending meat waves but eventually a revolution will start like it always does.
you'd think they'd just develop the place to fcuk it has endless potential.
Last week NATO commented that Russians are running up average of 1150 casualties a day of which over 900 are dead
Russia is not a normal country, the causal hate and disregard for life of their own people (never mind the abuse, rape and genocide of others) is medieval
In no sense was I suggesting anything like that so please spare me the transparent and pathetic attempt to provoke an argument. Zelensky being killed, a power vacuum, divisions in Ukrainian society being heightened are more likely to lead to a more Russia-friendly settlement than if he remains there. Same way the only hope of Russia's stance shifting is if Putin goes.
This has nothing to do with blame. The war is 100 percent Russia's fault, I've never said anything different
There are not a million dead. Casualties refers to dead and severely injured. However the million figure does seem to be broadly accurate. Ukraine's figure however is also several hundred thousand - much lower, but probably equivalent proportion of population, plus much higher civilian death toll.
Putin to blame for all of it
Or it is likely to lead to an even more hardcore element coming through, especially if he was e.g. assassinated. The death of Zelenky is not going to lead to the mass of Ukrainians going "ok actually, let's abandon Kherson and give the Russians a bridgehead over the Dniper". There has been no possibility of even a Russian friendly settlement on the table, the only option ever presented has been completely Ukrainian capitulation and that won't change if Zelensky is killed, nor will the refusal of Ukrainians to accept it.
I never said anything about who you blame, I'm well aware you blame the Russians. Nor am I trying to provoke an argument, but your framing is completely wrong and I am just pointing that out.
Being a wounded veteran is arguably worse than death in a criminal state like Russia
They have a long history of treating their own veterans like mud which leads to drug abuse, poverty and alcoholism
Hell when these “soldiers” are serving they are treated worse than mud too before ending up in same mud
War Is ongoing now for 1200 days. A million is an average of 830 per day. There was times when the Russians sustained substantial casualties such as in the early parts of the war, during the first winter at tge battleof Bakmut,,, the retaking of Kurst etc.
Russian battlefield deaths V injuries is probably in the 1-2 ratio compared to US battlefield rate of 1-8. Probably definitely running at 500+ a day on average
Enter C-17 to LA
Oh I assume that any soldier would return fire if directly fired upon (I presume most civilians would do similar if they have access to firearms tbh). Really, I was most curious about aircraft which I know isn't your speciality. I know that there are RAF Typhoons currently stationed in Ämari which I'm hoping would launch and engage Russian air assets / armor convoys as soon as they crossed the border into Estonia rather than waiting for any invocation of Article 15 etc. I had presumed the US would have similar deployments but looking into it, the US planes in Europe are all deployed much further back from Russia (UK, Germany, Italy and Turkey).
I don't know if the US have armor or other equipment deployed in any nation bordering Russia or Belarus but the idea would be the same: if deployed to an allied nation would they be obliged to head to the border to help defend their ally or would they have to wait until the enemy got past whatever local defences were between them and the border before they could engage.
Some months back I heard a Russian soldier saying that to be severely wounded is as good as dead because they are not able/willing to rescue them.
There are multiple videos of either shooting their own or just completely ignoring their own wounded
That would require basic humanity and empathy and decency
Thumbs up for Norway!

That's how the majority of weapons transfers should be occurring… Tell nobody nothing.
If a Taurus missile suddenly lands on a Russian command post inside Russia, Merz , when asked should simply be like "Huh? We dunno?!… wasn't us, wasn't one of our missiles because we didn't give them any" and leave it at that.
Basically do what Russia does and simply deny it..
Everyone knows there are no red lines.
And those are filmed by their own troops to show the greater world. You'd see the clips on their own news sites of conscripts that don't want to fight. With starved bodies, stripped naked in a hole with their "comrades" firing over their heads into the pits.
Hollywood or the russian equivalent no doubt will never make a film about these patriots. Bad PR for what the kremlin money would allow in Hollywood or russia. Putin's Russia.
Russians believing that taking zelensky out means victory shows how much a strong man mythology is all that's holding Russia together.
Russia's response to the Israel attacks:
"Russia “strongly condemned” Israel’s military action against its ally Iran, describing it as a violation of the UN charter.
“Unprovoked strikes against a sovereign state, its citizens, peaceful cities, and nuclear energy infrastructure are unacceptable,” Russia’s foreign ministry said in a statement"
Lol.
Delusion off the scale.
Cat takes out FPV drone. 8-)

See it all started in year 862 when Rurik wanted to create a “multi-polar” world with his “special military operation” international rules and laws be damned
The problem with a world where bullies and dictators do what they want while 💩 on international norms and laws is that sooner or later they **** with someone who fights back
Once more affirming that the truth is the opposite of whatever the Orcs say about something.
I'm more concerned at what is outside the shed on the left in the first two seconds.
I can’t imagine many Air Force generals being happy to not respond to a troops in contact issue, but it’s worth noting that the USAF is basically out of the close air support business, A10s somewhat exempted. They basically get their ground strike requests from higher level echelons as they are used to shape the battlefield, not get involved in the direct fighting. Shooting down aircraft over NATO space, however, I equally cannot see them not doing.
US does have armor in the Baltics and Poland, though it’s more show the flag than serious capacity in most cases. However, if the enemy hadn’t gotten past local defenses, I wouldn’t see them as being sent into contact immediately, as obviously the local defenses seem to be doing well enough. It’s not a matter of not being willing to help, as much as the fact that the US has the single largest force capable of fully co-ordinated offensive action. As long as smaller forces can hold the line or conduct limited counter-attacks, there is good argument for holding the force as intact for use where it becomes decisive. That said, a corps level exercise concluded last week which saw UK, French, German and US Division HQs operating under a US Armoured Corps command. If interoperability worked well, it does open up more options for the location and configuration of such a main effort, which may release lower level US units for more local actions.

What is likely to be the effect of Israel walking over Iran (as seems possible) on the Ukraine war?
Is there going to be a revolution in Iran ?
Has Putin bombing Kyiv started a revolution?
All that'll will happen is Iran will further reduce its USD use in favour of currency swaps with countries that aren't trying to blow them up.
You mean that other war Irans ally has started where hundreds of Iranian drones and missiles are used nightly to terrorise and kill people?
well hopefully less of that terrorism as Irans mullahs focus on own defence instead of spreading terror and 💩 here in Europe
If reports from russian medics are to be believed their wounded don't stand much of a chance of receiving proper care. I've read of substandard tourniquets, poor/no first aid training for the ordinary soldier to save themselves or others, poor wounded evacuation options, abuse of medical staff and of course corruption in that supply chain, so their death figures could very well be high.
Good to know. The scenario I'd be mainly envisioning would be a helicopter based strike attempting to drop elite forces into key locations like that which played out at Antonov Airport at the start of the Ukrainian war and I was wondering whether NATO allies would be prepared to shoot down such a formation. Glad to hear that they would because if Russia hadn't screwed up that assault so badly, Ukrainians would likely be suffering horrendously under a total Russian occupation right now.
