Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
What did you think of The Moz ? Interested to hear the perspective of someone who might be more familiar with, or a fan of his new stuff. I wouldn’t consider myself a huge fan, but got the chance of a ticket so went (incidentally I did hear that lots of freebie tickets were on the go). Anyway, the show concentrated on his newer stuff, with only a few Smiths, or even his own hits) and as a result dragged for me. The stuff I didn’t know, which was probably a good 60/70 % of the set didn’t do much for me. His voice sounds fine though, on the upside.
on the point about the debris, why didn’t they have any bins available up near the front of the stage ? That would surely help.
Still tickets going for Jacob Alon in the Workman's next Wednesday. If the sound of sensitive youngsters singing delicately about the ups and downs of relationships doesn't make you want to claw your own eyeballs out, he's one to keep an eye on. Album of the week in the Times this week. 'The modern Nick Drake' might be pushing it but he defo has potential. I'd say it'll be 19 squids well spent.
Yes resale tickets were never opened on Ticketmaster for Morrissey last night which was kinda odd, met a couple of people in the queue who just had a spare that was going to waste.
Was much busier than I expected, none of the seating was curtained off and the floor quite packed.
Probably listen to his solo albums more than I actually listen to the smiths nowadays so I enjoyed the setlist. His voice is still great and it's cool that every note is played by a live band, rare enough these days.
Aiken don’t usually allow resale to be turned on for their shows.
That's petty of them.
Will H needs to lay of the ketamine with reviews like that.
Did he use all of the stage, or just the far right?
Everything is far right of far left.
Band were excellent .
Discussed it on the gig review section . Bit low energy for me. I like a lot of his solo stuff but felt he picked too many slow songs tbh from a great back list .Not enough Smith's .
Would have been better sitting than standing and most of the crowd standing around us were reacting similarly .
He has an amazing voice and lyrics are clear as a bell
I know it's over was extremely poignant .
He is full of sxxx though.
He used the stage but refused the camera man for the two screens either side " Go Away you "! Except for Hand in Glove .
@Stillill42 Will go to Johnny the next time he plays.. sorry I missed Athy .
Think they played Other Voices recently. Liking the sound of them. Getting Fionn Regan vibes.
“Cola” Canadian band, at Coughlans last night, very impressive
Off topic (again) but anyone read the Will H book on Lawrence from Felt? Highly recommended.
Wasn’t aware of this. Will make me think twice about buying tickets for some of their shows.
Interesting article about festivals in US. Know the big ones here like EP and ATN have sold out but you'd wonder about the smaller ones. And the Iveagh Gardens and Collins Barracks gigs say but guess there's still time for those to sell more tickets. Guess with the amount of gigs to go to and the price maybe something has to give long term with either the number of gigs or ticket prices. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/01/entertainment/music-festivals-cancellations-pitchfork-cec
Transfer is open though usually close enough for stadium shows
Irish festivals have been culled in the last few years:
Indiependence
Body and soul
sea sessions
Forever young
Wild roots
Other side
Boxed off
Life festival
Galway airport shows
Probably a bunch more. Not many left
A shame for all of them but some natural selection there. We went mental for a while, clearly too many small festivals competing for similar custom for a few years there.
article in Irish Times about who owns what festival, and acts withdrawing as a result
"At the time of writing, 28 artists have pulled out of Sónar. Spain’s culture minster, Ernest Urtasun, said that KKR is “not welcome in Spain”, citing policy that companies with alleged economic interests in illegal settlements in Palestine “cannot operate normally in the European Union”."
add in spiralling production costs, Artist fee inflation and those mid sized festivals being priced out of booking acts that can actually sell festival tickets.

Hi would anyone have a pre sale code for Benson Boone. I did register for MCD presale but never got a link for it.
Try the presale thread:
Julian lage in the helix in November
For anyone who can't make the Coheed and Cambria shows in July. Not that I'm complaining but so odd how the Irish shows are months before this. Maybe someone from the bands has to be here for some reason
July run is with rock werchter and 2000 trees festival as start and end with a few inbetween europe dates to pad out the week in europe. Gotta cover the daily overhead with shows
Would've been mighty to get a show with Haken here

Conor McGregor, thus far, has a civil conviction for rape and I'd never give him anything. Mike Tyson is a registered sex offender convicted of rape in 1992 and is undeserving of anyone's hard-earned money.
An unrepentant one too
