It's like the Moskova sinking schadenfreude all over again. :-)
I'd say they did tell the Americans, probably about five minutes before the first drones started slamming into the orc planes 😁
More like a great way to ramp up the level of paranoia inside Russia. "So these teams of Khohol saboteurs - are they in the country with you now?"
Didn't Budanov tease us with a "oh, there's worse to come" quip several months ago, after another big attack ?
Well yes, they did give them about that much of a heads-up, out of courtesy.
An update to the article I based this on now says the US was not informed.
An audacious and great attack on that airfield. It's not going to make any real difference in the outcome of the war but a reminder to Russia that Ukraine does still have significant capabilities. Wish they would do this more often, including on infrastructure like energy and transport and big Russian banks, all of which are legitimate targets
Isn't there something in the bible about it being ok to attack a Tu on the Sabbath?
You mean 4 airfieldzzzz
stolen from Twitter 😂
What a day,What a lovely day!
Well, on to the next job…
As I heard someone saying there is a non-zero chance that there are more semi trucks loaded with FPVs driving around on Russia’s highways right now.
why was this I wonder 🧐
Trump cynicism aside, the US agencies including the military are still tied in.
While I don't remotely doubt either the capabilities or motivation of the US agencies, I'm not so sure it is possible to put "Trump cynicism" aside. At the end of the day, he would likely find out about such an operation if US agencies were involved (or at least more competent members of his administration would) and who really knows what would happen from there.
Ultimately I doubt we'll ever know one way or another.
On Telegram, the ministry writes that Ukraine carried out what it said was a "terrorist attack" in the regions of Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan and Amur.
The ministry says that all of the attacks were "repelled"
Nutjobs .
If this was 1942, no one could resist the chance of taking Russia in such a weakened state.
Nothing like a few billion in Russian military damage to get this thread hopping.
They successfully used their planes to intercept the drones. On the ground. While stationary.
That is a huge story in itself. The US is so compromised under Trump that nobody thinks it's safe to reveal anything to him for fear he will get straight on the blower to his mate Vlad to tip him off.
I quick google estimates that the Russians only have (or had) about 50 operational TU-95 bombers. If the report that 40 bombers have been destroyed / damaged is in any way accurate, that might indicate that most of their bomber fleet is now gone.
Keep in mind, this is current-day Russia and not the Soviet Union, so the likelihood of them repairing or replacing those TU-95 is very very low. This is a very clever move by the Ukrainians. They are going for technical assets where the Russians haven’t a contingency for equipment losses beyond hoping that the Chinese, Iranians or damned North Koreans can bail them out. Losing an entire bomber wing is not something they’ll manage to patch over any time soon.
An area almost a third of the size of Leitrim captured (and destroyed). Keeping up the current rate, and they'll have taken over the whole country in just 100 years.
I don't have a Russian pie chart though.
Five…

“This was truly a unique operation. And now I can say: the ‘office’ for this op inside Russia was located right next to an FSB headquarters.117 drones were used, striking 34% of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers at key airbases. Our teams were safely extracted in advance."— Zelensky

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better.
….
Trump is such a f***in sensitive pri*k he'll probably take that as a personal affront and come out and attack Zelensky now as the biggest obstacle to peace in the war
TACO....
People always say if Russia had the means, they'd do more. But I think the response to today, will be really big .
They were not in loop according to telegraph
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/06/01/russia-ukraine-zelensky-putin-war-latest-news5291/
“Ukraine also knows that the situation on the frontlines is not as dire as many suggest. In December 2023, Russia controlled approximately 42,000 square miles of Ukrainian territory. In December 2024, that figure had grown only slightly, to around 43,600 square miles. In the time since, Russia’s holdings have remained effectively flat. As of late May, Russia held approximately 43,650 square miles of Ukrainian land.
Analysts paying close attention to the news have read reports of the Russian army’s taking one square mile and village after another. But zoom out a bit, and the country supposedly holding all the cards has gained just 1,650 of Ukraine’s 233,030 square miles over the last 16 months. Put differently, Moscow has gone from occupying about 18 percent of Ukrainian territory in late 2023 to roughly 19 percent today. ”

No rest for the wickedly clever.
