He'll probably release a follow up statement blaming Zelensky for the attack. I wish I was joking.
He didn't @Vladmymaster so Poots isn't gonna get the message.
Fuck me, "very bad timing" = "hey this is making it very difficult for me to blame Zelensky".
What a weak pathetic tweet.
'What is Zelensky doing putting his cities in the way of Russia's missiles?'
…including missile attacks on civilians apparently..,.
“stand down and stand by Vladimir “
D'you think he knows that most of that 5000 are Russians, being deliberately sacrificed by the Kremlin to feed Putin's imperialist dreams?
Just thinking of the narrative they spin in Russia itself. "These are all the convicts, gay people, North Korean, degenerates of society we are sending to their deaths in Ukraine." Probably.
Donald Trump then : "I like Russia."
It's all complete theatre between Trump and his owner boyfriend Vlad. This is so he can appear tough on Russia without actually doing anything.
If he was truly angry with Putin he'd dial up the sanctions and give Ukraine more weapons.
He really is the absolute dregs of humanity. I'll never forgive the American public for inflicting him on us again.
That may be so, but it doesn't change the point I was making. We don't have the appetite in the West for a military conflict where coffins may be returning weekly. I really don't think we do. And I'm pretty sure Putin's banking on that being the case as well. We can laugh at the state of his military, but the fact is that he has no issue rounding up conscripts, he has no issue bankrupting the exchequer to produce arms, he has no fear of a popular overthrow, he has no fear of political opposition, he can count on other autocratic regimes to supply him with dumb munitions at low cost and high volume. And he can make decisions in the blink of an eye.
What have we got? Lots of money and no stomach? Constricted by the obligation to play by rules. And a leadership accountable to a influenceable ballot box. We're sitting here in Ireland where half of the political discussion is around the thought of compromising our neutral status. Where we don't have enough personnel or engineers to keep more than a token proportion of the one arm of our military (navy) which we should have been keeping razor sharp, alive. We don't have an air force. Is there an European army that isn't dependent on tech and/ or information from the US?
Whatever about the past 25 years - we've had 3 years to get our collective house in order and its only in the past few months that its starting to dawn on our leaders??
I'd love Putin's ass handed to him but I'm not sure what immediate response people are expecting?
What an absolute cretin. I'd say Putin's breaking his hole laughing… diplomacy and threats via social media. FFS… Do Americans realise just how much of a laughing stock he is making their country, once the most feared world power on earth?
Would the non-US West still have the ability to establish air superiority over Ukraine?
That might tilt the balance on the ground in Ukraine's favour without the need for European ground troops and the higher number of casualties associated with that.
Putin's still in a tough situation. He needs to make Hay now and get this war wrapped up. If it proceeds another 3 year's and a MAGA dude can't win the next election he's goosed. And he'll be about 76 by then.
well im glad to see donnie vonshitzinpants sent out a strongly worded tweet!! ffs it obvious to me donnies in the scratcher with putin…to my mind russia invaded, russia is the agresser, russia needs to be told get out of Ukraine totally before we even talk…and stop fireing missles/drones!!
Trump telling Putin to stop and it's not a good time is like you telling your mate to stop being a **** and swinging digs on a night out.
He's still your mate.
Well, fcuk this is it's true
The answer to that question was given last night: Ukraine, with their few token hand-me-down aircraft and a smattering of reluctantly delivered air defence systems - mostly from European countries, not the US - were able to take down 68% of the missiles fired at them by Russia.
If those other Europeans who could, would get off their holes, tell Trump he's a pathetic loser, and put their own 'planes in the sky over Ukraine to enforce a no-fly zone, that'd be the end of Putin's terrorist attacks on civilian population centres. For all that Russia's SU-35 is theoretically a more capable aircraft than anything the EU/UK is flying, the fact is that in three years Russia has utterly failed to get close to air superiority over any part of Ukrainian territory.
I have no expectations of any meaningful movement by our own glorious leaders in the immediate future, but I'd would be delighted if Macron, Merz, Starmer and any other "coalition of the willing" partners announced this week that they were giving Putin until the 8th May to get the fkk out of Ukraine - all of it - otherwise their air forces would be flying attack missions from the 9th.
Oh, and thanks Zelenskyy for those rare earth minerals. :D
Hobson’s choice
Send forces - risk getting directly involved in the war when Russia inevitably breaks the ceasefire
Don’t send forces - make it very easy on Russia to break the ceasefire
Most European nations have forgotten how to make sacrifices for the freedom of the continent, and that is understandable. Unfortunately, Russians + their minorities haven’t forgotten how to be abject mindless serfs drunkenly staggering into meat grinders.
Solzhenitsyn makes a few points about this-

(1) The GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine:
🔥 Enemy Su-30SM aircraft destroyed in Russia - opposition to Putinism is growing
I could understand Trump not giving any arnaments to Ukr for firing at Russia with a MASSIVE stretch but I cannot understand why he is withholding defence arnaments - how many more Kivelike attacks must happen before he is considering to do something about them?
And risk a nuclear response? I mean let’s get real here further escalation of this conflict is not in Europe's or the worlds interest. They need to get around the table and stop the killing today.
Was a good hit alright
Oh, we're back to the old "escalation" argument are we? And THE BOMB.
FFS, Putin has already shown us several times over that he shares with his buddy Trump in incredible capacity for back-peddaling on his threats when anyone stands up to him. So far, unfortunately, the only world leader who's not afraid to grab him by the balls and squeeze hard is Zelenskyy.
But the only discussion Russia wants is about Ukraines surrender.
Do we in the west really want to take that chance ? Why hasn’t NATO escalated it with the conflict with air support and or boots on the ground by now ?
Because it's not a conflict that involves a NATO member?
No appetite whatsoever in the major EU countries to having bodybags coming back from Ukraine.
The biggest reason to do so is in the event of Ukraine collapsing the two biggest armies in Europe would be under Putin's control.
Forcing people to fight in what Russians do best.
WW1 & 2 were fought following a couple of generations after the rise of nation states throughout Europe. The idea today of what it is to be British, German, French is very very different to 80-100 years ago.
A generation who biggest hardship is no internet access is not going to be much of a match for battle hardened warriors.
Better to nip it in the bud before Ukraine collapses.
Yes they’re not in NATO if the nuclear threat is just all bullshite talk and Putin would just back peddle why haven’t Ukraine been given membership by now long before this began?
