The 4 soldiers are dead, they drove their vehicle into a swamp and drowned.
You know what other country has WWII totally living in their heads? The UK.
And the further they get away from both WWI and WWII the worse their poppy fascism gets. Anyway for another day but I'll feel better if we were to take a more active approach in a EU defense pact as an insurance against our neighbour going full retro.
My Irish grand uncle died in WW1 in a flying accident. The father of my fairly famous 3rd cousin died in an RAF flying accident. My father was a naval air arm fighter pilot in WW2.
The UK is Europe's second biggest supporter of Ukraine. I'm not impressed by your poppy fascism jibe.
This sounds concerning? This is also on the CNN Ticker but didnt say they were dead .. however I only saw it fleetingly earlier, so may have changed
BREAKING: American soldiers killed in LithuaniaFour American soldiers and a tracked transport vehicle went missing yesterday during military exercises near the Belarusian border in Lithuania.Today, they were found dead, reports Delfi. The circumstances and cause of their deaths are currently under investigation.
AND THIS:
If the US won't defend edit: NATO countries from Russia, and is now turning hostile towards sort of people who govern most European democracies and wants "regime change" to bring mini-me MAGA friendly people like AfD and Reform UK to power, the massive bases, tripwire forces, equipment caches, and CIA nests all over Europe flip from a great defensive asset focussed outwards, to a massive potential internal threat themselves! A kind of sword hanging over the heads of some countries.
However I doubt any actions or initiative will be taken by European countries - they will be trying hard not to escalate things and provoke rows with the Trump admin. I wonder would some of them be a mite relieved if Trump, Vance and co. move first, and start gradually drawing down the troops? I think they've been floating that.
The better time for European countries to move (assuming this realignment of the foreign policy of the US Republican party is going to be quite long lasting) would be when the Democrats take the Presidency again. I am not so pessimistic about the USs future that I think that was the last properly contested Presidential election for a while, it will be possible to turf these bozos out!
So what, the US used to be a staunch Ukrainian ally too.
And it's not a jibe. I was living in England when their press was openly calling the EU an oppressor. In the run up to the Brexit vote Boris Johnson said it could be "our liberation day!"
The heat may be gone out of Brexit for now, but that doesn't mean the craziness won't return. A Reform Party with Northern Ireland unionists in coalition will be like a Trump II.
ADD THIS:
Yes normally, but now Putin has to try and scrape enough cash together to try and keep the existing show on the road…..with many cases of troops having to pay for the basics themselves. Not to mention how its official policy not to collect the dead and wounded, so cash is saved treating the wounded, and no body, no death benefits paid. Its a military being run on a shoestring where manpower is concerned, but in other aspects as well.
Yes, plus India is not giving Putin the full market value of the oil…..India has him over a barrel.
No surprise that India's richest person made his loot on this Orc oil trade. India have the Orcs over millions of barrels.
More French support for Ukraine announced:

They were not killed, they died. Most likely it seems in a tragic accident.
I would suggest you don't trust "news" sources that would resort to such baseless clickbait headlines.
Dnipro burns :(
Dnipro.
Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities seem to be strangely more successful since Trump took over.
I've only read Shaheeds but I seen a video that looked like a missile hit the ground followed by a big explosion.
The telegraph podcast last week reported that the Ukrainians have run out of himars missiles. While not needed to intercept missiles or drones the drying up of American ammo is clearly resulting in more "successful" russian raids.
Both awful scenarios, hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Ukraine has also endured substantial losses in this period. Russia seems to have the ability to keep throwing meat waves at Ukraine and then keeps coming back for more. For Ukraine it is tragic that they keep loosing there best people in this war just because of Putin's whims.
I would like to believe you that they are in a better position now, but I just don't see it. They have lost most of their foothold in Kursk and Russia is stealing more land from Ukraine every day, albeit at a very slow pace.
Putin seems to be emboldened since Trump has came into office and shows no signs of wanting to pause this war, while I think Zelensky and Ukraine's position has softened towards negotiating more than it was a year ago.
One hope that I cling onto is that Trumps desire to be the peace maker may make him back Ukraine more if Russia continues to stall proper ceasefire talks but I won't be counting on it. His own negotiating team repeating Russian propaganda and lies word for word is also not a good sign.
This adding a journalist to a cabinet chat group, sounds like a set up ,like really no one checked, don't know what the agenda is but there is one .
Wrong thread sorry please delete.
"Russia seems to have the ability to keep throwing meat waves at Ukraine and then keeps coming back for more"
Poor Russians and North Koreans make good bullet catchers
Seems its still up in the air. AP a sufficiently trusted source I hope

A U.S. official would say only that the four soldiers were involved in a training accident. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, would not comment on the status of the soldiers.
Norway doing the sort of drone training they know they need to be doing…

All of Europes militaries need to be prioritising this sort of warfare now.
Report on the BBC website just has them as 'missing' -
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpv49r9me01o
It is, that's why they say "died" and not "killed". It's rather more than semantics given the circumstances.
Even HAMAS have copped on to the drone game.
ah ha!
Trump and his team are basically pro Russia, this was predicted by many and no one should be surprised by it anymore. Which is why I can't understand why the EU still constantly acts surprised. They've been sleepwalking for years and I'm still not sure Brussels has really woken up. The US under Trump is not an ally, it's a hostile power
Is there still no decision on the $200billion or so frozen assets in the EU?
If they don't do it now, they never will
You understand why they are reluctant to touch this money? - It sets a precedent that could affect future investment, from everyone, not just Russia.
I would argue that it also sets the precedent that if you have assets/investments on our territory, held in our institutions, and you then illegally invade a sovereign nation, then we will absolutely seize your assets..
