This is very true
Hopefully Ukraine rightly tells them to **** off and keeps hammering them
So does this mean
for Ukraine.
Them agreeing to a ceasefire on these terms alters the military balance at least somewhat in Russia's favour. And no guarantee at all it'll lead anywhere…
So a while kind of nothing, except Russia gets to stop Ukraine hurting them with airstrikes on their depots
Ukraine must be hurting Russia with it's long range strikes on oil depots using home grown drones. Putin only too happy now to offer a ceasefire on energy targets.
A bit more detail at the BBC live feed page on this call between putin / trump:

Here is the READOUT of the convo from the White House:
Its embarrassing what's happening. How Europe isn't stepping up and doing more is hard to understand. UKR were looking for hardware, not people. My fear is now they need both, hopefully I'm wrong there. I also hope that behind the scenes Europe is doing what's needed but is keeping a closed lid on plans. The USA can't ever be trusted again, we can never put our security or trade dependencies (or part of) in their hands. Their political system allows for one man to yield power ultimately, so the next nutter in 20 or 30 yrs will come along and rewrite history with the stroke of a pen. The sad part is Europe will have to step up even if the full of UKR is lost to Russia, the threat of Russia and the USA isn't going away, time to put the big boy pants on.
Zelenski should stall as much as possible. Every day the American aid continues is a good day. Even if he intends on saying no, be polite and give out good messages supporting trump. Push the next meetings out as far as possible.
Europe also needs time to get it's act together. Trump is an absolute Tramp though.
Maybe I’m being stupid but have the Americans requested the Russians don’t rearm and mobilise? Ha ha ha
The art of a deal. Trump really is nothing more than a useful idiot. Putin playing him like a fiddle
You cannot help but laugh
Kremin: Key condition is the halt of foreign aid
Ya sure lets stop that and when the 30 days are up, the Russians have already re-supplied/re-armored and ready to take more Ukrainian land
Considering that most of the weapons are coming from Europe who were not invited to call and 40% made in Ukraine itself, good luck with that
..order to the military to keep attacking civilian targets despite a "ceasefire".
I think that's what he actually said.
The biggest line I see so far: Putin told Trump that all rearmament and mobilisation of Ukraine must stop in "context of a ceasefire".
Putin will have to agree to something, or at least pretend to , if Trump is to 'show progress' of any kind. I don't think he wants to end the war either but he might be willing to go along with the 30-day ceasefire if Trump can convince him it will put Zelensky on the back foot…
Obviously Ukraine are smashing their oil revenue.
Already I can safely say "Europe Says No"
Energy ceasefire?
So far it's all meaningless sh1te talk.
Nothing substantial on Ukraine from the talks it appears
At least some Ukrainian heroes will be returned home
No, that's not possible. Putin doesn't want to end the war, nor does he want any ceasefire. It is Trump who desperately wants to show any progress, even if it means throwing Ukraine under the bus.
Ugh, really. They're not pen pals. Of course they will make contact.
Might be just Putin kinda sorta agrees to 30-day ceasefire and the rest of it is kicked down the road
Oh I forgot. Trump will probably throw in a removal of sanctions too just for good measure.
Julia Davis seems to agree
From that BBC live feed link above. The possible choreography:
"Now the call has ended, we're likely to receive a "read-out" from the White House, although traditionally these statements are terse and do not provide many details.
At 15:30 EST (19:30 GMT), Trump is scheduled to sign executive orders.
At the moment, this event is closed to the press, although often similar signings are made accessible to the press "pool" and turn into extended question-and-answer sessions.
If this happens, we're likely to hear from Trump himself about how it went.
We'll also be monitoring Trump's Truth Social media accounts and waiting to see if other officials make appearances here at the White House.
Stay with us for more updates."
Here is the BBC LIVE page about this Putin/Trump call with all the updates LIVE:
Tenner says that Trump has agreed to basically bend over to all of his lover Putin's demands.
In exchange for all these things Ukraine will get a pinky promise that Russia won't break the ceasefire maybe.
Zelensky will obviously not agree to any of this. Trump will say "see he's not ready for peace" despite the fact that Ukraine agreed to the ceasefire essentially unconditionally. He'll cut off military aid again and we'll be back at square one.
That's my bet anyway.
