There was a video from the states during their recent antics of them mouthing on saying Enock is in prison and the Irish government or state or someone is taking is wage.
Does Enoch have a solicitor? Surely any solicitor worth their salt would have advised him of the consequences of ignoring the court orders and what may come. Or is he someone who likes to believe in representing himself or does he use his sister who studied law?

Agreed. Why should my beliefs become secondary to people i don't know.
I am assuming it is their beliefs in their brand of Christianity that is their motivator. I don’t agree with their methods or some of the stunts they’ve pulled. But you have to admire their sheer doggedness and determination to stand up for their beliefs

I think the problem with this article is that they used the Burkes as an example- setting yourself up for failure there!!
But the point remains and it’s fairly dead on. We (Irish) are generally aghast at the idea of confronting something we disagree with. Many of us, for whatever reason, would sooner have the ground swallow them up than create a “fuss”.
The Burkes methods are questionable to say the least so I certainly wouldn’t model myself after them, however not caring what other people think is something that more people would benefit from. I’d love to have the confidence they have to be honest.

I did not state that his imprisonment was unjust, I merely said that the Burke’s probably believe that it is unjust and that is what drives them on.
As regards disobeying Court Orders , the dogs in the street know that they are disobeyed every day of the week and there is precious little done about it !
They used to feed Christian’s to the lions at one time because they didn’t agree with them.
All through history people have stood up for their beliefs often at the expense of their own well being and even their lives.
They are not being asked to abandon their beliefs, nor are they are under any threat to their well being or indeed their lives.
And yet, other people's lives are still not up for debate, regardless of how interesting the discussion around Enoch gets

If and when the Burke parents get too old or sick or die. The Burke children are going to be essentially unemployable and they are going to have many years reflecting on their lives going to absolute waste.
Maybe self reflection doesn't come in to their heads though.

As I already pointed out, their history of unacceptable behavior entirely predates any imprisonment . And it remains that he was publicly ignoring the court order and disrupting the local school on a daily basis.
Now if only the Burke clan would accept the notion around what Irish Civil Law says about complying with the law, they might be better off in their standing with others. As it is, their refusal to accept the notion of debate has planted them firmly in the ****: amen.
It would be interesting to see how they function without the parents. Adult children living at home and coached how to behave and where to go every day will not serve them well when they have to feed for themselves.

Literally nothing is admirable about the Burkes.
His sister is a solicitor and his brother is a barrister (though nobody would take him on as a devil).
And the wrong time. By about 85 years. The 1940s/50s would have suited Enoch down to the ground.

They even dream about doing that and they probably need to wake up and flog themselves.
Everybody is allowed have an opinion but the Burkes seem to think that their opinion is more important than anyone else's and will attempt to shout down anyone that disagrees with their opinion. They will not discuss rationally - they expect people to bow to their beliefs and opinions no matter how ridiculous they may be
