I think that's the worst photoshopped image in the history of badly photoshopped images. Can you seriously not tell?
Well, that's kinda how democracy works in a nutshell. You go along with the majority. Democracy 101 in fact.
Not in that sense no. Is it useful to have Russia attacking their own land instead of yours? Absolutely. Even if this is the beginning of the end for Kursk Russia will still take losses retaking it which hampers their efforts in Ukraine.
They'd much rather these resources focused on the Donbass where they are stretched.
I'm afraid it's actually Putin who is telling Trump what to do, not the other way around.
I made that clear in my first post on Trump and Putin..
" Had Trump taken the opposite tack, and came out in full support of Ukraine, instead of the path he took" Unfortunately he didn't so we are where we are today.
I'm very worried Zelenskyy will find some novichok in his coffee in Saudi.
looks like Trump done a uturn first on tarrifs yesterday and now weapons supplies to Ukraine
and Israel same as the Five Eyes be stopping intelligence sharing with US soon due to it ending up in Moscow

And if he doesn't. What happens then.
You are advocating for two nuclear powers, with a history of aggression towards each other, to go head to head in a war. 2 countries that we have been told are led by madmen.
And you guys in here are putting yourselves forward as the reasonable voices?
This is insanity.
Even the Ukranians, who most of you have so graciously volunteered to continue to be sent into the grinder, want an end to this war. And that poll was conducted back in October when there might have been even a slight chance of winning. Who knows what it is now.
A bunch of fukin General Melchetts in here.
Mod Edit: Warned for uncivil posting
If Russia, a major nuclear power, is aggressively invading other countries, then of course at some point it will end up confronting another nuclear power or one of its allies. The idea that we just give in to Putin is nuts, he will just keep taking until someone stands up to him.
You can't have peace while one country (Russia) insists on belligerence and invading its neighbours. You can't have peace by giving in to him either. This is all on Putin, he can back down any time he likes.
Appeasement where Russia sees no consequences for the invasion and retains large amounts of territories is pretty much just giving Russia leeway to regroup. It acts as an effective win for Russia and they don't end up facing any reparations. Meanwhile Ukraine end up punished. And a few years down the line, Russia repeat it cause they already got away with it once before. Historically appeasement of invaders does not work.
I'd also be pretty sure if that was the outcome of negotiations, Ukrainians would not be satisfied with such an outcome. Plus any such Ukrainians in Russian occupied territories would become targets of the state.
Take your anger out on the Russians who started the largest war in Europe since WW2 by going full metal Nazi
Blaming people here for actions of a dictator and his serfs is bizzare at best
meanwhile on Russian tv from yesterday they are drawing up lists of next countries to invade, what you make of that @bloopy ?
You are addressing the views of one poster, so not sure why the "you guys" and "bunch of **** general Melchetts" comments.
Everyone wants peace, no one more so than the Ukrainians. It hasn't been on the table for them yet, only occupation or war. Both are brutal.
Now with Trump there's maybe the possibility of some sort of deal. That doesn't mean "peace at any cost". It's highly complex and dynamic. Like the evolution of this war.
How much of Ireland would you be willing to give up for peace? Exactly. It's a very complex thing. Made even harder when the largest supposed ally turns and starts supporting the invader.
It's up to the Ukrainians, they are exhausted with war, and recently they've had a terrible series of events (mainly the White House working against them) - we have to see what's available to them.
No matter what happens, the Ukrainians don't have a choice of "peace" or "timeout" or any of that - only Putin. He can 100% end this war at any moment of his choosing, or 100% to continue it.
We gave up 6 counties for peace, and got a civil war immediately after.
Might be serious. We'll have to wait and see. Normally Ukrainian media are reluctant to telegraph this so quickly.
Ironically it's the parts of Ukraine that Russia is occupying that are in ruins.
Europe stepping up military spending is to guarantee that Putin doesn't spread further ruination.
No one can stop Trump from ruining the US economy.
Trump told Vladimir Putin to stop the war, or he would throw his full military weight behind Ukraine
Is there truy scope for this though? Was Biden really arming the Ukranians significantly below the full extent open to him?
Plus he had signalled before taking office that upping the military ante was not the way to go
I know Trump is not renowned for consistency but he doesn't like admitting his previous position needs to be reversed 180
jrmeire isn't suggesting the action is in any way likely, he's making the point as many others have on this thread that if Donald Trump wanted to end the war quickly, there's only one avenue open for him to do that: bring Putin to heel with the threat (or use) of the American military to eliminate Russian presence in Ukraine. That was the only way he could have achieved his "end this war in 24hrs".
Not even Zelenskyy had the power to end the war quickly. He could issue an unconditional surrender today and his troops would, for the most part, ignore it and fight on as best they could because the alternative for them is death. They, and we, are all well aware of how Russia treat prisoners of war. Ukraine would end up as an occupied state fighting an insurrectionist battle for the next decade.
Seems pretty clear you're not willing to interact with posters who addressed your post. Instead one liners.
The stealth is no joke The Israeli's had F-35s fly 1,600km from Israel into Iran and obliterate their air defences.
It's a reasonably well kept secret that the Franch Rafale also has stealth capabilities. It has a native frontal radar cross section of about 1 sq m. But it also has a very sophisticated electronic counter measures suite called Spectra, which apparently can reduce the radar cross section to hundredths of it's native figure. France flew these on raids in Libya in SAM contested airspace without losses.
The B-2, F-22 and B-21 supposedly all have far better stealth than the F-35.
The only thing consistent about trump is that he never criticises Putin, and that fact alone is enough to establish a European anti Putin defense independent of the USA.
Indeed.
All Trump has done so far is hobble and cut off Ukraine.
He hasn't taken a single step against Putin, quite the opposite, only given him concessions. And that's before the talks have even started.
And what talks? There are no details. For all we know Putin is again "cosplaying" peace talks. He's done it multiple times already. It's the simplest thing in the world for him to do. I'd be doing it now if I were him, talking about land exchanges, prisoner exchanges with utterly no intention whatsoever of actually signing any piece of paper. Strongly suspect Trump's team would swallow it all and given enough time will always default to blaming Ukraine.
And the Russian media are now saying there is no need for Putin to make any concessions whatsoever to either Ukraine or the West, as Trump is clearly pro-Russia.
Biden gave Ukraine table scraps, essentially. Just enough for them to keep their head above water, but no more. When I look at what they give Israel within days, at a drop of the hat, compared with Ukraine, I want to throw up. Israel gets THADD, that can intercept long range ballistic missiles, Ukraine gets out of date, soon to be retired Patriots.
Had Ukraine gotten the class of stuff the US has no problem giving Israel, the war would have been over by now.
And yes this is true, he ran those full page ads, and the trip was paid for by the Soviet agency responsible for foreign tourism. Several former KGB officials and analysts have suggested it was an effort to cultivate him as an asset.
Are they invading anywhere or perpetrating genocide on anybody? You know, stuff that's a bit more important than displaying flags.
….and
Depending on when these pictures were taken, there's a good chance a few of those lads are dead.
Another turn of events - Trump now (re)threatening tariffs/sanctions on Russia
Usually disclaimers, it's weak threats likely designed for optics, but it's at least better than the relentless attacks on Ukraine.
