That's not pushing him at all, that is simply the status quo and has been for 3 years.
It is absurd to focus all your efforts on the invaded party to just give up and absolutely none on the invading party who have categorically announced multiple times that they are not interested in peace talks.
He is abandoning Ukraine, and it goes right to the top of the incredibly long list of shame stuff he has done. He is in danger of not just abandoning them but flipping sides at this rate.
It is not just Ukraine being abandoned, it is the relationship to NATO European allies.
No words from Trump reaffirming any commitments there, just insults from the amoral Vance.
If someone was just trying to bring about peace, they would be trying to involve them not sideline them.

I hate to have to make the following comments , but —————-. Individuals with a lot of power , very senior government officials right up to presidents have be subject to successful / attempted assassinations by Individuals acting in isolation or ‘funded ‘by an interest group/s. Motivations re carrying out such actions are for a variety of reasons .
Killings/assinations are a common day occurrence in the US every day - sometimes even mass killings
Motivation for the ‘actions’ could be something as simple as as a personal grudge over something small, losing a job., someone mentally deranged, ideology based, Etc. And no one is exempt from being killed / assassinated especially if they hold a position of influence.So the point I want to make is that Trump is adding to the list of individuals/ groups that might have that ‘proverbial grudge ‘ against him. If I was in Trump’s shoes I would be watching that space VERY CAREFULLY and I would not be thinking that I have GODLIKE POWERS.

It will likely get significant investment if not increased support in order to make it happen sooner. Starlink cannot be relied on at least while that South African Snowflake Musk is involved and if anything it shows it up as a national security risk for many nations. Hell the fact that he can switch things off at a whim makes it clear anything to do with Musk is not worth investing from. He's an unreliable actor.
Well the question is what does Europe do now? They need to strengthen Ukraine with everything they need. No faffing about this time. Also, they need to prepare for war. What is needed?
a) Declare a state of emergency? (not yet)
b) Bring back the death penalty for all serious crime and save billions on prison bills?
c) Put all drug addicts in boot camps and train them to fight - no more molly coddling.
d) Lots of more radical stuff like the above; man-up and get real.

That's great of the French but it's in no way a full replacement.
Many countries assist the US to enable it to gather the intelligence it is no longer sharing, they need to grow a pair and share the blocked intel with Ukraine and tell the US that they will stop assisting the US, so that they won't have the intel either if they want to take issue with their actions.
One of the best ways to hasten the removal of Trump is create imbroglios that cast him in a bad light.

Like I mused before imho it makes good sense for China. They have putin by the short hairs so he'll have to accede to any talks they put forward, they're watching America under Trump go loco by the day, threatening to bugger the US economy, while pissing off allies by the day, especially Europe. Europe is a huge market for China(China outside of ASEAN is also the EU's third largest trading partner), doesn't tend to kick off wars overseas anymore and is far enough away from China so they're no threat, unlike America. What better way to sideline the US than to cosy up to the nations Trump has succeeded in pissing off in a couple of months?
This is also Putin led - Vlad has undoubtedly told his pal in the Oval Office that he wants Zelensky removed from power.
There’s no way any country should give America intel, it would be in Moscow by the morning.

Interesting article on that about legislation (Rubio was one of the initiators) passed in 2023 that specifically had Trump in mind. It prohibits the US from withdrawing without congressional approval & the possible legal fight if he attempts to ignore the law. Whatever the outcome NATO is still functionally impotent with Trump in the WH.

Europe should (with eyes wide open) indulge this. Cynical or not China would probably be a more “impartial” interlocutor than the US government at this moment. Certainly more competent too. If (when) Trump’s tariff antics are implemented on the EU we can open the stall to China. And if need be…initiate plans to start “de-risking” trade relations with the US.
