powerful stuff, thanks for sharing.
Everyone needs to watch this and take it in. Hopefully it finds its way to a US audience too.
We should see if they are available for rent for Paddy's.
he hit every nail firmly and squarely on the head…
A fantastic summation of the present state of affairs by someone who has not forgotten the lessons of the past. It would be great if somehow, some of the Trumpists and Putinists could watch it and come to some sort of realisation that they are indeed the bad guys but I doubt they could make the connection.
I believe that they have long passed the thinking part…it's now full blown certainty and becoming more so each day that passes.
I think about that meme more than once everyday, how so many Americans are so blind is baffling.
If anyone wants a good read over morning coffee about what European security without NATO
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2025-03-05/europe-is-getting-ready-for-the-end-of-nato
Behind soft paywall that’s as easy to get around as Russian air defences around their refineries 😂
Few choice quotes to ponder;
“This is a column I never dreamed I’d be writing, as a former supreme allied commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. .”
…
“Collectively, Europe has the second largest defense budget in the world, bigger than either China or Russia. Large, capable defence companies in Europe — Airbus SE, BAE Systems PLC, Saab AB, Thales SA, Naval Group SA, Rolls-Royce PLC, Rheinmetall AG, Fincantieri SpA and others — produce immense amounts of high-quality equipment. They are going to be ramping up and receiving huge contracts — largely at the expense of US defense firms and workers.”
”Above all, of course, the European allies share our fundamental values of democracy, liberty and human rights. They fought and died alongside us in Afghanistan, and deployed under my command to Libya, the Balkans, Iraq, and on counterpiracy operations off East Africa.”
”What might rise in its place? Possibly a European Treaty Organization, or ETO. It could be based on the current NATO treaty, but excluding the US. Canada might choose to remain in an ETO”
“Second, the Europeans’ foreign and defense policies would rapidly split from those of the US. Instead of confronting China alongside Washington, they might seek greater economic and perhaps even military cooperation with Beijing, as a hedge against growing US alignment with Vladimir Putin’s Russia. More European nations will likely join Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative. Europe may be far less inclined to join with the US in pressuring Iran over its nuclear program, and instead seek economic advantages there. And they would poach American trading partners, especially if a NATO withdrawal comes in tandem with big new tariffs directed toward Europe.”
“There is an old saying about why NATO was created: “To keep the Germans down, the Americans in, and the Russians out.” If the US decides to go its own way in the world — as it disastrously did in the 1920s and 1930s — that equation would be obsolete.”
He nailed that, not the slightest detail do I disagree with - vive la Fance, slava Ukraine.
Russia has been a thorn in the foot of the world for 80 years, Putin is just a stepping on the thorn and pushing it a bit deeper. What happens next shouldn't just be helping Ukraine win the war completely, but pulling that thorn completely.
It did occur to me this week that the next World Cup and Olympic Games in the US might be 'problematic', now that Trump is making enemies of everyone, even near neighbours like Canada. There might be a very strange atmosphere at them.
Doesn't get more accurate than this
Not just Canada but Mexico, England, Germany, France. The World Cups, and indeed the Olympics, could be boycotted by a lot of heavy hitters assuming the governing bodies don't pull the plug on them
Britain stood alone in WW2 and held the Nazis back. I have no doubt that an ETO (+ likely Canada) would still be a force to be reckoned with
I suspect it be the most boycotted Olympics as it’s almost a guarantee now that Trump will invite Russian druggie athletes and drug dealers in.
I’d trust the Chinese more than I’ll ever trust America again.
You cant really ever trust China either though.

Five Eyes is falling apart now
Whatever about the Rugby, there isn't a fear that FIFA are going to do anything. They are as corrupt as they come, and Infantino is a big pal of Putin and Trump. If anything it's more likely they'd pull staging of games from Mexico and Canada and host the whole lot in the USA
The major countries in World Rugby. Ireland, the UK, France, NZ, Australia, SA
Only 1 I can see showing up in 2031
Oh he sure has, pure spiteful **** he is doing now

The US has become as untrustworthy as China, Russia and Hungary, it has not become less trustworthy to the point China should in the slightest respect be considered trustworthy. China is awful - I don't think many in Ireland would be aware of the endless bellicose militaristic antagonism they have been pulling in the Asia Pacific region. Their hacking efforts, their constant theft of others intellectual property, their ethnic cleansing efforts in Tibet, their abhorrent treatment of the Uyghurs, including outright slavery, forced sterilastions - even their treatment of their own people during the Covid pandemic was outrageous they are no better than Nazi Germany or the Orcs. They are engaged in just as much expansionism by force of arms as the Orcs are.
I am constantly appalled at the pro-China attitude shown by many on Boards, it's absolutely disgusting - just because you enjoy being able to buy cheap stuff like phones.
Jordan Peterson is another one who will never have a negative comment for Putin and he is a huge fan of Soviet history.
It's almost as if the Russians have something on him....like the time he went to Russia for his addiction treatment
Lol - how deliciously appropriate. Double bonus points for the compromat tie-in, even if it was unintentional.
We're less than two months in and Trump has supported a genocide in Gaza and threatened twice to resume it, supported Russia in every way possible to continue its annexation and potential genocide in Ukraine, openly threatened China with military conflict via Pete the skeet Hegseth, quietly put a European nation on notice about a potential conflict to annex their land. Threatened Canada with annexation and decided that Mexico was too dirty to annex so they'd just ruin them financially.
There's a pretty good chance that a single person pushes the entire world to a global conflict over nothing and that's a damning indictment of humanity that we're so easily swayed towards our own destruction.
Seemingly even before the Friday's ambush Trump was targeting Ukrainian war refugees who were welcomed under Biden with deportation.
He really is a vile nasty little gowl.
I think the US Secret Service have to take some of the blame at this stage. All those guns in a room with Trump, Vance and Musk an not one of them cares enough about world peace to pull a trigger three times.
Russia just proved they don’t respect Trump by lobbing a missile at an hotel and killing Americans
I also fully expect Russia to be at the USA2026 World Cup
Rory Stewart makes the suggestion that Trump may be making a huge mistake in prioritising Russia and alienating all his former allies i.e. Trump thinks Russia and Putin are far stronger than they actually are.
Just wait, the Bots and trolls will spin this as a false flag by Ukraine!!
JFC,He really is a despicable piece of work!
Vile twisted behavior.
The sooner someone ventilates his cranium the better!
Trump will say they not real Americans cause they voted democrat
