Absolutely. Less warning time for Ukrainian cities under attack.
That sounds spookily similar to a speculation I posted on here a little while ago, especially with regards to the timeline. Trump is currently burning bridges with the civilised world almost as fast as Putin is sacrificing men and beasts on the frontline. Two old men watching the clock run down on their imperial fantasies.
Contrary to the narrative peddled by the concerniks on here, time is on Ukraine's side. Our baby-faced leaders can afford to plan for the medium and long term; in all likelihood, they'll still be around to enjoy it.
In the short term, Ukraine has brought Russia's advance to a standstill overall: what small gains they're making in some areas are being wiped out by serious losses in others, all because they (the Russians) have overstretched their supply lines, while the Ukrainians have achieved effective drone supremacy over those same lines.
The biggest imbalance in the conflict these days is in regards to the missile strikes on Ukrainian territory - missiles launched from a considerable distance behind the frontline. Patriots and the like are part of the defense against these, but even without restrictions they're obviously not enough to protect all targets, so I would imagine Ukraine is aggressively developing an alternative strategy to deal with that threat in a more effective manner.
They'll do that without US assistance, and when they succeed, Trump's selfish shortsightedness will be irrelevant … but the damage he's done to the reputation of the US will be long-lasting.
I think it's the fact that the US reelected the clown is what is the real reputation killer.
The US dollar is usually a haven in times of uncertainty, but not when the US is the cause of uncertainty.
They'll do that without US assistance, and when they succeed,
when
Zelensky isn't acting to me like a man who believes this. He seems willing to say and do whatever it takes to get American weapons flowing again, even to the point of totally abasing his country, which strongly suggests to me he is convinced Ukraine is fecked without those weapons
I was listening to one of the recent Rest is Politics episodes, they brought up the point that Turkey is ready and willing to step into the void to supply Ukraine. They have the means and desire to go after Russia, as they have been doing in Libya for years now.
He's got to nearly 80yrs old without getting what he deserves, it's unlikely to change in his remaining years.
Not a hope.
Brilliant contribution, point well made
I found this
(Good background.)
What’s Macon up to, are we all going to war with Russia now?
The US president's policies and especially his dealings with Volodymyr Selenskyj are causing uncertainty among Swiss parliamentarians. Confidence in the USA is dwindling. This is unfortunate for Swiss security policy, as Switzerland relies on American equipment such as the US F-35 fighter jets and the Patriot air defense system, writes the Tages Anzeiger .The F-35 is controversial either way, even in the USA not everyone is happy with it. And if there is a possibility of switching to a current EU model, we should do it now.It would at least be a small sign from Switzerland, but one within our means. Including counter-deals.According to the newspapers, SP National Councilor Fabian Molina has also warned that the US Army under Trump could deactivate the jets' IT systems at any time. He added: "The USA is no longer a reliable partner under Trump. We should also orient ourselves much more towards our European partners in security policy and buy fighter jets that are compatible with our neighbors' systems."SP National Councillor and head of the Finance Committee Sarah Wyss goes even further and demands that the purchase agreement be terminated entirely. According to her, the fighter jets are becoming increasingly risky for Switzerland in terms of finance and security policy, writes " 20 Minuten ". Wyss says of the stopped arms delivery to Ukraine: "Trump did not stop new deliveries, but rather those already approved by the US Parliament. A reliable contractual partner never behaves like that."

The finding out phase is in full swing in Switzerland. More US arms acquisition cancellations please.
I'm not a fan of Turkey under Erdogan at all, but it would be a good development if they can help Ukraine endure this period.
My honest feelings on this is that Trump being the malicious idiot he is is going around spouting shite that Zelenskyy is risking WW3 when HE is in fact risking this scenario by literally sucking up to Putin and trying to stab America's long time allies and Ukraine in the back. He's either a complete delusional idiot or worse a Vatnik Asset himself, him spouting Vatnik Propaganda and undermining Ukraine is proof of this and I'll honestly be shocked if someone doesn't try to Luigi his ass at some point in the next few months with the way he's going on. That corrupt orange bastard is probably the worst person to ever be elected to office and fúck every single Republican bastard who enabled this to ever happen in the first place.
The biggest danger though is that if Ukraine becomes imperilled in the next few months because of Trump the real risk is that European Nations may reach a tipping point where directly engaging Vatnik Russia and directly intervening on the side of Ukraine is a dire necessity, not simply because of the unsustainable amount of Refugees that would come flooding into Central Europe if Ukraine fell, but more importantly the Russians will NOT stop at the border of NATO countries, they'll continue marching as far as they can because Putin has created an unsustainable situation in his country where he cannot stand such an army down without risk to himself. The only way to stop aggressors like him is with direct force, they understand nothing else.
There's also the possibility that Russia may decide to use a nuke at some point because they'll be stupid enough to think that President Krasnov wont shift his orange ass in the event of a nuke. This is the real risk here because it would mean that France or Britain may be put in a position where THEY might be forced to launch in return. That's the nightmare scenario right here that could happen.
when Trump said “ your gambling with world war 3” that was 100% classic projection.
That’s what is in his head. That thought crosses his mind every day. That he is the one gambling with world war 3. In the heat of the moment he blurted it out and accused Zelensky of it.
I somehow doubt that thought ever crosses his mind. Everything he does is awesome. In no way can it backfire ever. Trump believes he is a god amongst men.
Only people who voted for Sinn Fein.
Ukraine: gains ground in counter attacks and raid style tactics across the front.
Trump: let's cut off supplies and intelligence.
You would have to assume that all the leaders of Europe think that Trump is in bed with Putin, though they won’t say it in public, yet….
Just the first 2 minutes shows how to say it like it is-
I feel very sorry for friends of Russia
How can they Rusplain that the war they started continues now that US who they insisted started and fought this war for over three years is not involved in any way or fashion anymore
They were never good at addressing the fact that Ukrainians are very good at extermination of the Russian neo Nazi invaders, often just shrugging and saying “Da life in Russia is cheap but it’s an honour to die for dear leader”
The especially devout Putinistas on thread are notably absent now, probably struggling squaring the notion 🤯 that US are now the “good guys” from the Russian point of view
Of course yes he doesn’t come up with himself. Guarantee you Melania says it to him or his daughters or some of the women he interacts with. How could Ukraine have no cards and be gambling with world war 3 simultaneously?
The way I see it is the Trumps wwiii brainfart of a invaded country not surrendering to Russia is an expression of fear that Russia, who he admires, is at risk of collapse.
By his behavior towards the invaded he gets no say over what happens Russia.
Putin annexes Crimea, starts a proxy war in Donbas, engages in hybrid war against Europe, invades Ukraine
"Why would Macron do this?"
Agent Krasnov activated.
I wonder will FIFA and World Rugby now rescind the 2026 and 2031 world cups, ban the USA from their competitions etc etc over their support of Russia as they have done with Belarus
Nothing very exciting tbh
Carnival preparations last week Germany
Always so topical!
That is the answer of a spokesman who doesn't want to lose his job by saying something newsworthy.
"The war is neither foreseeable or unforeseeable"
What’s Macon up to
sorry double post
