Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
I'd understand if it was marlay or malahide, but Fairview is as close to Connolly station as the 3arena.
Saw them on the original album tour. T'was fine. Not all music translates to a live gig well.
Love the album but obviously very chilled and in Fairview it'll be a chat fest.
Is that the price for general admission standing or packages?
I never care what others get up to at a gig, but we did have to move a few times as some people had absolutely no interest in the music. Probably just like the album Moon Safari is for a lot of people, it was background filler for them. Each to their own.
I sort of agree with an 'each to their own' attitude but from gigs I've been to here vs abroad, punters here are generally much more disrespectful of others when it comes to chatting incessantly at gigs. Having to move because you can't even hear the music (which a number of my friends had to do) is not cool. People shouldn't be dïcks.
Those tented gigs at Fairview suck.
Standing is 400 euro gold circle is 500 euro, I'm converting from pounds, seating is 400-500 a pop,
I was prepared to pay it like the lineup speaks for itself but you need a unique link now, now adding ?did=artpre anymore to just get into it, I was on all morning and had 25k ahead of me I've seen tickets pop up but they just get bought up
St. Vincent in 2022 was superb.
yeah cause it was 2/3 empty haha
saw phoebe bridgers there. Beautiful sunny day. Felt like such a shame to cram into a stuffy tent with **** sound
a theme in recent announcements seems to be artists who played vicar st last time they came here now heading for the bleeding point
kneecap and Patti smith were underplays when they played vicar st even when doing 3 nights and 2 nights respectively. 3 arena is the next logical step for them. Especially with Patti doing 50th anniversary tour of her most beloved album
Cram being the operative word. The mania that surrounded her by then was ridiculous.
morrissey too. I understand the logic, it just tempers my interest in the gigs. Especially if they are all seated, which i imagine is possible for morrisey and smith
small standing area for Patti smith, same set up as Mbv as per the TM maps.
Ooh, that's tempting. I like the small standing area, although sometimes results to imbalanced sound.
I saw Patti Smith last year at Vicar and I thought she was fantastic! Would highly recommend.
They literally did this exact Moon Safari gig less than a year ago which is pretty weird.
I suppose mcd don’t have a suitable music festival for this show, wasted at EP hence putting it to fairview
Small standing area for Patti is good news. Sound is always much better.
I take a bus up to Dubin for gigs so I'm tied to the last bus to get home. Have MS as well so my mobility can be a bit all over the place at times so like to stick to city centre if I'm travelling alone for gigs or not taking dedicated transport to a venue.
Well when you put it like that…
shame all her album since mass education have been dull
Would someone tell Aiken that the days of 9am presales and people queuing up at shops are over.
Regardless. There are few sights in modern music (or in life in general) like Annie and her guitar in full flow.
All Born Screaming is a decent album - I instantly warmed to it.
Probably give AIR a miss this time. If it was an indoor show in a smaller venue I'd go as their Royal Albert Hall show last year looked amazing and the set is designed for the dark. Their gig last year was ruined by yappers in Trinity and I'd imagine the same will happen in Fairview.
not got to do with promoters nowadays. All coordinated across europe.
Connolly station is only 15 minute walk to the gig. Can park somewhere handy and free of charge, away from the city centre, and get the Luas to Connolly station.
It's a really handy location.
How fast do you walk?! :P Google Maps has it as close to 30 mins
That's probably the entrance by the pedestrian footbridge, which is probably 25 minutes, the one by annesley bridge where they let you out is a brisk 15.
It's less than 2kms. Walking at 8kms an hour. That's 2km in 15 mins. I could crawl it in 30 mins.
