Interesting thread, someone has documented orc losses on one of the supply roads to Pokrovsk. Dozens of wrecked Lada's, golf carts, and buggies litter the sides of the roads.
Drones away. Hit them where it hurts
Looks like biggest cauldron of the conflict is on it's way soon west of Kurakhove, Andriivka is about to fall in the next day or two. Hopefully they are allowed to retreat early this time and save themselves. Two rivers in the way also just like the Velyka Novosilka cauldron make even worse.
Did not know this.
I’ve been curious why each of these three amigos of Russia been showing so much “concern” in this and parallel thread about USAID and can’t come up with a theory about their identical fascination with the story
Probably been discussed here already but interesting to see how much Ukraine media was reliant on usaid.
I wonder will the narrative start to shift if not funded by usaid. Especially interesting as so many people have been accused of being Putin's puppets when in fact the entire Ukraine media seems to have been Biden's puppets.
A few Stv 90's would be better than tanks for our environment too.
Hoping this is true
I think it's more in Trump's head taking land or going on about taking land that isn't yours seems to be OK in his head, Greenland,Gaza and Canada for what reasons he sees in his mind is he's kinda OK with Russia taking over Ukraine, I am honestly thinking he doesnt give a crap about Ukraine, if Russia had of taken over Ukraine fully it wouldn't of been an issue with him as he probably would of said well thats just Russia's back yard just think the way he's going on and if he does meet Putin say without Zelensky being there it's messed up and I reckon some deal is being made between USA and Russia. It's more if Trump thinks about USA taking over these places or them becoming a part of the USA he probably is more sympathetic to Russia then Ukraine as he views taking over places in his national interest and probably happy with Russia having the same thoughts.
For a different thread but it's not really hard to understand that the USA consider Israel to be it's mini-me.
Even during bidens time netenyahu got 28 standing ovations in his address to a joint sitting of the Senate and Congress, even when civilians deaths in Gaza were spiraling.
20 years waste in Afghanistan and it's already forgotten.
I know this is more for another thread, but crap like this does make me worry for Ukraine dealing with this guy. I really don't know what way he will deal with Ukraine at all. Now I suppose the same could be said about Russia how he will deal with them but I just worry this nut job will **** Ukraine over.
Ukraine could have won in 2023, if they had all the weapons they needed. Unfortunately, this time passed. Russian army learns too. Ukraine leads in the drone warfare, but Russians are just one step behind. They have also heavily mining everything, meaning that fast offensive is impossible. Kherson is the case in point — Russian army escaped Kherson because Ukrainians had to spend days removing mines and booby traps.
Ukraine can only liberate its territories if the Russian political system collapses. Even if Ukraine has a great victory like Kherson every year, it will still take many years to fully liberate all occupied territories. Good thing is that the Russian political system is already fragile, and if the West / the USA give Ukraine their unwavering commitment and follow up with concrete actions, Russia will crumble. Give Ukraine all the weapons now and let the UAF use them as needed. Start shooting down drones and rockets that attack Odessa and Lviv — air defense systems in Poland and Romania can do that. And the most important thing, give Ukraine real security guarantees. Putin is only afraid of people who stand up to him, he is not afraid of "deal makers".
Practical too. Ireland often ends up in the same Nordic Battle Group as Sweden. Would be a good idea to have similar gear.
..
Exactly. Zelensky knows how to smooch Trump.
This is the transcript of Trumps call with Zelensky after he won. Had all the Trump buzz phrases ready.

Russia will not collapse on the battlefield
Just like they didn't collapse and get chased out of Kyiv near the start of the war? What about Kharkiv where they were utterly routed and retreated in total disarray? Do you not remember Kherson? Another time when the "second best army in the world" suffered a total and humiliating defeat.
Yes, and he made right mess of organising that. The Afghan government were not allowed to take part in the talks, for one thing, and instead of allowing the Taliban back gradually, he threw the gates wide open for them. And the only way to tear up the agreement was if the Taliban breached any of the condidtions listed. Which they promptly did when they re- established power, but it was too late then. He could play the same game again in Ukraine.
Would suit us too if we had a few.
With Trump, it all depends on which way the wind in blowing on a particular day…..
Nobody could seriously predict that Russia only had money for less than a year of war. There are facts — the National Wealth fund's liquid assets are now gone. $300b are frozen in foreign banks. In 2025, Russia has no more saved money left. It can still wage war by printing more money, by skimming off or confiscating private savings, followed by conscription as the last resort. These things increase the population's dissatisfaction with the current regime. In Russia, there is no public outlet for expressing this dissatisfaction, so what is likely to happen eventually is a sudden, catastrophic collapse.
Russia will not collapse on the battlefield, they can keep sending grunts on donkeys to attack Ukrainian positions for years and years. As you said, Ukraine needs security guarantees to prevent Russia from attacking again. If those are in place, then Ukraine can start to rebuild and wait for the regime change in Russia which may result in the occupied territories being returned one way or another.
EU are preparing to seize Russian “shadow fleet” ships
That puts Russia into a bind, they can reflag them as Russian of course but then it undos the purpose of these being in the shadow
Also a tanker mysteriously sank in port, with apparent sabotage
From our EU perspective at least we have living memory of life under Soviet control to counter complacency.
Trump keeps shooting his mouth off about taking countries yet under his last term the withdrawal from Afghanistan was signed.
Biden would not give them US cruise missiles, maybe Trump will let Europeans (or Ukraine itself) purchase some?
You never know I suppose. This admin. does seem like it may be up for continuing to ship large amounts of US weapons to Ukraine, once someone else pays for it all (assuming here Putin will scorn whatever "deal" they are cooking up, which is probable).
Not great, completely short sighted, amoral and mercenary of course + will have their allies taking a cold hard look at overdependance on the US, but better than I hoped for.
Not an unreasonable judgment. But in Ireland, where we kissed the Bishop's ring and worshipped blindly at the altar of Catholicism for a couple of centuries, we'd do well to reflect on our collective guilt for the abuses visited on so many innocents all while the average Joe stood by, tugged their forelocks and obediently trudged down the Mass every week to toe the line. But anyway…
Shock horror… Ukrainians are suffering. I thought they'd be just fine when invaded by a military power many times its size and strength.
Truth is a very loose construct in war… you need to be careful not to approach it with an underlying perception bias, which your posts scream of.
General peace and general prosperity, all in comparative terms, are hard fought for and easily forgotten. It seems especially so with voters across the Western world over the past 20 years. Probably not surprising given the last living witnesses of WW2 are dying off along with their first hand experiences of what true horror and loss of civil rights really looks like. But as you say, a discussion for another thread really.
Fantastic news. The Gripen is ideal for Ukraine. It has been designed and tested to use stretches of motorway as ad-hoc runways. That means the UAC could potentially deploy "pop-up" Gripen bases wherever there are suitable roads, and then move them if needs be.
Finally 10,000 tanks + 1
heh better than a kick from a donkey
The flights over Black Sea which Biden cancelled have resumed
I don’t think trump cares what anyone thinks, just look at him doubling down on his Gaza comments
He is highly transactional and influenced by last person in room
I’ve given outline of where we seem to be heading and it’s not great for either side, the big problem is that Putin is not interested so it’s more than likely that trump who really wants to be called peacekeeper will ratchet up (that it compliments his other agenda is a bonus)
