Nope. That's you jumping from a straight to z in conclusions. It's possible to agree that one party is morally culpable while at the same time agreeing that ultimately a negotiation is how the impasse will end. You just seem entirely incapable of accepting the moral culpability of the Russian regime for costing the lives of half a million people, let along the numbers who have suffered life changing injuries and the incomprehensible level of destruction to infrastructure.
Instead you insist on showing up here with "it appears" reports of bad news for the Russians.
Keep going if that's your wish. But you'll keep getting called out for posting a half true version of one side of the story. We can all see the Russian's occupying Ukraine… it's not on us to report the fact that they're still there every day.
… delete …
Yeah but that's hardly news/ novel? It must the experience of every army in every lengthy war ever in the history of warfare. It's another good example of why the old chestnut of forcing Ukrainians to return home to fight is short sighted, populist nonsense. I'd say a motivated smaller force is far preferable than an unmotivated larger one. They challenge for the Ukrainian leadership is getting that balance of having motivated troops, but also ensuring that they get regular relief.
Good stuff
Looking forward to seeing Ukraine's defence against Cruise missiles after the next batch of F16's and Mirage arrive. They'll be over 20 western fighter jets by then.
The article you point to doesn't really undermine my description of The Economist being pro-NATO. It aligns perfectly with support for NATO. The only slight criticism I could detect was that The Economist attacked some within NATO for not being tough enough. I think its completely non-controversial to summarise The Economist, Forbes and the Kyiv Independent as being pro-NATO, pro-western mainstream media.
That some are trying to paint them as being "Moscow originated propaganda" pushing Kremlin talking points only highlights the extent to which many have fallen into information silos where only the most relentlessly positive information is accepted.

You're so so close to conquering your own shortcomings. So very very close.
The only people who go on about "relentlessly positive information" are those pushing kremlin narratives without any filter and show themselves up, trying to create a strawman to protect their persona from being utterly debased.
Point to the poster(s) who are posting "relentlessly positive information" without caveats in place when they post.
I get your no-compromise socialist view of the world and the longing for communism/socialism to triumph somehow, just as I get the libertarians who push their no-consequences view of the world, but it will be called out every time for how out of touch with reality it is.
Drones away again this evening. Bingo cards at the ready.
Also, another inhumane missile attack on Odessa that serves no military purpose other than to terrorise.
Safe to say the NK soldiers have not been a great success. Almost feel sorry for them, brainwashed cannon fodder in a war they know nothing about
Yes the old print version often seemed very wedded to US/British free market idolisation and critical of European social state. Definitely not centre left, though I feel with the podcasts they are more balanced and nuanced now
Looks like they sent their best, well equipped, loyal troops......and we're slaughtered.
There is no denying they were brave to the point of indoctrinated suicidal, but the tactics were meant for a war in a bygone age.
They'd had the T-Rex approach for dealing with drones. Stand still and hope it doesn't see you. Meat wave attacks achieved little.
well this is fantastic.
To think that even with employing such dastardly tactics as blackmail, the Ukraine is still less corrupt than Russia - at least the unfortunate Russians are actually getting some money for their toil!
Spare a thought for the cannon fodder worth a bag of onions at best or an MIA at worst.
So the cracks are appearing, people saying what most are now thinking.
Be interesting if there back. But let's be honest even if they are not back North Korea have leaned invaluable lessons from them sending the 11k of soldiers. They will learn lessons that they would never have while practicing for a war since the 1950s. Also there are dead Ukrainians who should still be alive fighting Russians who were killed by north Koreans and there are Russians still alive fighting Ukrainians who should be dead if Ukraine didn't have to deal with these north Koreans.
They've learned not to give any more troops to the psychopath in the Kremlin.
Russians on 'sticks' sent to the front
I wouldn’t assume that Pyongyang have all that much agency here. Putin is mostly the be-all and end-all of their external ambitions (not including China, who I suspect tolerate them).
My guess is that Kim sent some of his best troops in the hope that North Korea would save the day for the Russians and bestow onto them all the kudos and rewards that would come with that. But they didn’t factor in how historically feckless the Russia command structure has become. Their best trained troops were likely thrown into a typical Russian meatwave attack, which ultimately squandered their talents. Also, since the Russians appeared to be too pig-headed to learn some Korean, language barriers pretty much ensured failure.
I suspect that the Korean pullback might be an attempt to cover up the scale of the Russian f*ck-up here.
“Things fall apart; The centre cannot hold”
We're going to see a lot more of this as putler's regime continues to collapse. Many of the orcs are going to want to try and save their own skin before putler is ousted.
Indeed, and the desertion's will be occurring at higher and higher levels…
More Lada's been sent to the frontline. The same shambling rabble that the pro-orc faction on here are demanding that Ukraine make peace with.
The Ukrainian drone operators will make short work out of all of them.
27 documented suicides in one month among Russian soldiers.
Once you can hold and fire a gun, thats all that matters. Soon all your troubles will be ended in any case.
They have worse combinations than those….the motorbikes with bathtubs welded on to the sides, or pulling trailers made up of wooden boxes and bicycle wheels….
All things considered, anyone suggesting Ukraine should even consider negotiating with Russia would want their heads checked.
What do you think will happen if there are no negotiations? What would you predict for the end of 2025?
Has a new deadline been set yet for its recapture?
