Packet of 8 crepe pancakes are really good.
I want to recommend the new bagels, I’ve had the Everything and Italian herbs. I love the flavour of the Dunnes everything bagel but it’s dry the Aldi ones are much lighter and chewy how I think of a bagel. Had the Italian herbs one today as a ham and cheese toastie, I’d nearly have a second delicious, it was frozen and defrosted in the toaster then airfryer to melt cheese and it was soft and chewy.
I remember seeing a discussion here about bagels but could t find it. https://groceries.aldi.ie/en-GB/ALDIIE/p-everything-bagels-450g-ballymore-crust/4061462868689
€1.99 for 5 and they are pre sliced but not dry. also so jalapeño and cheese.
i find I've to replace the Aldi blades more often. However, at the price difference, it's still significantly cheaper overall. They're quite good
Not food related but the Aldi Lacura razors are at least as good as Gillette
I really like an Instagram page from a lady called Sophie_Morris.
She compares/explains everyday food items you would find in the supermarkets. You might like to take a look at her page as a starting point.
Soups in Aldi were one of the items that she covered.

There's also a soup thread here for loads of ideas if you eventually want to go down the homemade route..
Edit: oops, I see the soup thread was already mentioned above :)
Do you have access to a hob & a saucepan? Making your own soup is very easy, and you know exactly what's gone into it. You can make a big batch & freeze. A stick blender will help, but isn't necessary.
There's a great thread on here about making soup....https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2056076830/the-souper-soup-thread-merged/
I really love this lentil & bacon soup this time of year.

Hi All, Can anyone recommend a healthy soup? I have just woken up to how dangerous processed food is. it looks like its completely cowboy and Indian stuff regarding packaging labels. No regulation at all.
So what is the go to healthy soups in Aldi ? Thanks so much.
Oh yeah! It was odd, the stuffing was more coherent than I expected (As if it was to be a sort of sausage stuffing?). Texture on the main roast was grand, and the little umami bomb they provide (you nuke the stars and pour them over at the end) were delish. Certainly more interesting than our usual Quorn roast. It roasted a bit more than I expected on the bottom but that tasted good.
Cubed the remainder (stuffing n all) and threw in a curry the next day and I enjoyed that too (himself thought it was a bit odd in curry but enjoyed it as it was originally served)
Well?
The Christmas trio of chutneys was reduced in my local aldi to 99c this evening - happy days! A few other leftovers from the Christmas range at very good prices as well.
I can vouch for the Jalapeno ones. Not as spicy as i hoped but does gently build with a few handfuls. Nice and flavoursome nonetheless. Buffalo Wings will be the ones i try next.
That's a good point but there are many things to eat that aren't animal based but aren't vegan "meat" products either. I know vegetarians and vegans that I'd be pretty sure have never eaten any of those meat alternatives.
It's not all about personal welfare or the planet, not everyone wants to eat other animals.
The problem I have with all these veggie meat alternatives is the amount of processing necessary to get them to market. How is that good for you/the planet?
I wonder whats actually in the no chicken breast and the no turkey stuffed roast joint?? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say its the same stuff as is in the no carboard box they come in.
I'll report back on the 26th, but we picked up the No Turkey stuffed roast joint. Their no chicken breasts from the freezer are excellent, so I have high hopes.
Did they taste nice though? 😆
Bought candles in Aldi. Frankincense and Cardamom scented. They were 2 for the price of one. The smell is just lovely from them. So Christmassy. They are in a rose gold glass with a lid, about the size of a large mug. Would make lovely presents / stocking fillers.
aldi have a whole filet - there was only one left in our local yesterday, so maybe hard to get
reverse sear roast to keep it tender.
brisket, done in the slow cooker was the nicest beef I’ve had yet.
I'd definitely go with the Rib roast. As a treat it's hard to beat. I get small ones (1.2kg or a little more) and roast them in an air fryer with just a spray of olive oil all round and a generous sprinkle of salt, pepper and garlic granules all round.
It comes out great if turned every 10 minutes or so, cooked to your target internal temp (68c is my personal preference) and you let it rest for 20-30 minutes loosely covered in silver paper. Feeds three hungry adults no problem.
No, don't think I have. I'll keep an eye out for it thanks.
I'll third that opinion. Round roast really isn't great. I bought it one christmas and was really disappointed with it.
maybe try the butchers for quality :D
This maybe ?? 😁 It's only for 2 people

Thanks folks we were thinking on the line of the rib roast but will have a look at the Sirloin or Strip loin 👍
The best flavour won't be the leanest and vice versa.
Odysssey06 is on the ball with their advice but I'd go further and say don't go near round roast. Tasteless, dry and tough.
Rib Roast on the Bone for flavour, but obviously will be a lot of waste there, and wouldn't be considered lean.
The Sirloin, Striploin, and Round Roast would be lean. I'd go for the Sirloin or Striploin over the Round Roast for flavour. The Sirloin \ Striploin might have a 'fat cap' but the beef itself is lean and the cap might help to keep it moist. With Round Roast risk of it being dry.
Thinking of getting a beef roast for the new year from ALDI, can anyone help with suggestions i.e best flavor, leanest etc?
Saw that and was going to try - thanks! I really like their roadworks early start non-alc IPA in the bottle, have you tried it?
