A 147 is a truly remarkable achievement. Probably one of the most difficult things to do in any sport and quite possibly THE most difficult. Way harder than a hole in one or even a 9 dart checkout.

I was watching some old snooker show on BBC4 or something the other night. The golden era of snooker or something like that, basically a highlights reel of the 80's. They had Cliff Thorburn's 147 from 1983, the first ever televised one. He actually missed the first red, rebounded off the pocket, hit another red and that one rolled into the corner!

Was awesome to see the sheer delight on not just his face, but everyone else who was there. They stopped play on the next table and Bill Werbeniuk was peeking round the corner watching.

Commentator had a great line as he addressed the last black, "good luck mate".

I recently started back golf I played to a 5 handicap a good few years back and now I feel up to that level again to start playing and to put in 3 scorecards in whatever course there is availability to play. I am using iGolf to put in these cards. I've struggled to get back into golf because all the lads I played with have pretty much stopped playing. If there is anyone who'd be interested in playing around Dublin / Kildare area let me know I'd really appreciate meeting up with someone who has an official handicap to play a round together and sign a card for me.
