how long was it from you passed vetting to getting the call?
Literally minutes. Got the email, which I was shocked and thrilled about, hadn’t quite recovered from that and the phone rang!
Genuinely failing to see the point of a 'merit list', when merit serves no purpose in when people actually start.

Thank you. At least I’m proof that there’s still hope for high merit numbers, implies to me that if you clear vetting you’ll definitely be getting in, it’s just a matter of when.
Also odd that I didn’t get a “hit” on my credit check. I paid extra to get the Experian advanced, which I logged into to check everyday. Checked yesterday as usual, nothing showing. So I was surprised to get the email saying I’m cleared. And was floored when they rang minutes later with a start date.
For reference, I submitted vetting towards end of July.
Posted my vetting back around the same time and I’ve had a hit on credit score, so here’s just hoping! Fingers crossed 😂😂 good luck!

I was 473 so would have received a start date if things went according to plan about a month ago

100%. People 800-1000 ML getting start dates but I’m 400 and still waiting.
it’s because some peoples vetting can take a lot longer to get cleared the merit list got you as far as getting your dates for pca medical etc faster but the vetting is a small team and everyone’s is different so it makes more sense to get people in if they don’t need much clearance with the vetting.
Was there not an email sent out months ago saying that merit number doesn’t matter anymore? I seem to remember that, them saying that they will appoint whoever is first available at this stage.
If it helps anyone’s frustration, I’ve been vetted in the past, twice, by similar organisations, and have clearance, so I was probably a quick candidate compared to some others whose name isn’t already in the system.
same - I’m still waiting almost six months, though. Ironically, I’m currently security cleared higher than is required as a Police Officer. 😂
There is absolutely no logic to it.
Vetting contacted me last week for additional information, first I’ve heard from them, nothing since and only done my medical today. I take it you can’t pass vetting before the medical/smt results are back. ML 490
can anyone remember if we needed to declare if we’re in forums such as this on the vetting?
The merit list position you have is the merit list at the time Deloitte handed it over to PSNI.
You are not appointable until all stages are passed. PSNI will give offers of appointment in merit order from the appointment list.
So if you ML post 1000 but have passed all stages and are appointable but there's 5 people ML 900-1000 not appointable you will get offered.

The concept is clear and unambiguous, that’s not my gripe, it’s, how on earth can it take more than six months for vetting with not one single query being raised and I’m already cleared beyond what’s required?
I have clearance also, was thinking it would speed me up. Clearly not 😂

I think in the next 2-3 months most of us will have clearance to fair. I don't have stats in front of me but they are clearing up to 50 people a month for positions. There's not that many of us left so I would just hang tight, good news is coming (crosses fingers lol).

Hi everyone,
Has anyone had an email from PsBi regarding updating your medical. I was sent a proforma today today to complete by recruitment and I have to fill it in and send it back declaring no changes in health/medical to Occupational health.
Not sure if anyone knows, when’s the next start date and is this email positive and could I potentially get the call for the next intake. I was early 700’s in merit list originally sent out.
Any advice appreciated.

I got that a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it's just to keep your medical current and nothing else. Have you passed vetting yet?
