Would anyone have an idea time wise of when you hear from Garda Siochana when you put in your application, and it’s after the closing date.. to know if you have been accepted to stage 1. Or how do they contact you to let you know?
thank you
tracey
So basically the prep courses for this were not relevant? I've got one and have been going through it for days.
Cheers man. I hope you get called up for an intake soon, you've been very helpful to the rest of us throughout this process.
Hi, Dean⁸
Educational requirements are very clear , Have you met them? It's only after interview they look into it. If you haven't met the requirements you will be pulled from the competition. If you can't prove that you meet the educational requirements your name won't be passed on to GHQ
Medical is different for everyone, I did mine 4 days after the PCT.
HHope this helps
Just wanted to be sure.. This meets requirements ?
Anyone waiting on word
I am since oct last year, how long have you been waiting?
Yes, it meets the requirements. @WeskertheAntagonist
God seriously we could be waiting that long ???
yea it’s relatively normal to be waiting that length. A year to 18 months they say
Did anyone get an offer this week?
Have you lived abroad or have family abroad ?
If you got your invitation to attend Garda College on December 16th, you can join the WhatsApp group created by accessing the following link

Similar enough yeah takes ages. Check out that new site for the fitness, there's a heap of test whenever we do get in so was glad to do it! Think loads the students are aswel, that's if fitness may be an issue.. gardafitnesspreparation.ie
Do many people get rejected even after passing all stages and do they let us know?? 🤔
There was someone on here a few weeks ago and unfortunately they got an email from them to say he didn’t pass the medical and that they were removing that person from the competition. That is the only one I’ve seen on here…
When i did my medical they said my heart rate / blood pressure was high.. But i get white coat syndrome so nerves do be at me.. Im hoping that is something they dont take seriously… would be an absolute killer to be told your being rejected just because your nerves acted up on your heart rate
You will probably have to get a 24hr monitor.
Awh I can’t imagine it would, that other person failed cause of their hearing.. they may ask you to follow up with your GP and get a 24hr blood pressure monitor..
might be no harm in getting it done anyway and have the results just in case they do ask.. think it’s a 100 euros to have the monitor done..
did anyone have problems with the form b. I was working on it this evening and notice some info I’ve already added was gone. Has this happened to anyone else.
Contact your GP and ask for BP monitoring. There's usually a renting fee
Speaking of… I remember when i hit the send on my form b, I got an email back saying it was successfully sent …. with a "attaches is your file" There is an attachment of my form B but it is a zip file that is password locked… i dont recall even getting the password to unlock it… anyone have this issue ?
I just emailed HR and they sent me one unlocked
there is an article on Breakingnews.ie.. I can’t copy the link. It’s about the vetting and the offers for 2024 recruitment..
https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/garda-college-applicants-left-waiting-as-new-applicants-admitted-without-complete-vetting-1695599.html
Its a complete shambles, very unfair system that some people can get offers prior to vetting being complete and others do not, not to mention people from previous campaigns.
I'm batch 2,form b summited in july and resubmitted form B again in October as PDF due to the online form being a shambles.
Iv mentioned before they said they are no longer using the Jotform due to issues so I would advise anyone who is compiling the form B now or in the future to edit the PDF Form B they send you and submit that instead.
No wonder they cant get the numbers Into the college.
I passed the eye test in the garda hq.
”Suitability checks” are different to “Vetting”. Suitability is about you as a person and about whether you are suitable to be a Garda. This could be due to references, past incidents that have been flagged on the pulse system or any other reason that an employer deems you unsuitable or questionable to be offered a position. I do think however if this is the case people should be informed and not left hanging indefinitely. Any other employer would tell you that they are not taking your application any further and they can do so without having to give a reason. Lastly I would point out that they are looking to take in over 1000 per year not 200. There is only max two station interview not three.
that makes sense, I rang them last week and they said it was still under going vetting, I asked is that suitability checks, she said no, they have been done and are cleared…
How many are in ot so far?
Could suitability also be checking you social media ?
I would imagine so..
