What I mean is, in addition to everything else that's that going on in the war, including N Korean troops being deployed by Rissia. Launching US long range missiles deep into Russia itself is a risky strategy, specially after Putins warnings, No?
“Friend of Russia” blah blah Express Much Concern
Me - press X for doubt
If only so much concern was shown when Putin dragged in a second nuclear armed country into the war
the same “friends of Russia” who spent last weeks telling us there are no Koreans involved in invasion of Ukraine despite multiple confirmation in media and Putin himself boasting about it
Well here is what Chinese media are reporting now
Really warms the cockles of my heart to see how upset the useful idiots and Putin apologists are at the moment.
I think people are missing the big picture here. If this happened 18 months ago even a year ago it would have been huge and a real game changer for Ukraine but Biden hadn't got the sands to go and do the right thing then. Doing it now with Trump likely to throw Ukraine to the wolves in a couple of weeks time is pretty pointless and not going to have the desired effect. Also why telegraph it giving Russia time to prepare and move equipment pure bizarre carry on tbh.
yeah, crossing RED LINE #73 will definitely be the one which finally unleashes the bear……
Putin will do nothing he isn’t already doing, because he’s already doing absolutely everything he can to win his ‘3 day war’/extermination of Ukraine, almost 1,000 days into it.
His prisons are empty, and the volunteer mercs from the poorest countries on Earth are drying up/get wise (it’s guaranteed death for no money), so he’s had to resort to dragging a 2nd country into it (though Belarus still have a lot to answer for).
Wait and see though….. RED LINE #74 will definitely be THE FINAL STRAW!!!!!!
Putin will do nothing because there’s nothing more he can do.
The message is clear, no Putin = no war.
Bringing the war home to the moscovites is to explain consequences.
”the missiles will speak for themselves”, along with the thumbnail.
Love it.
North Korea entering this war opened the door for this. No surprise.
Hopefully these arms can do maximum damage to the Russians, and they have plenty of time to put them to work. Make hay while the sunshine’s.
Putin won't use nukes. This is too little too late from Biden. As soon as Trump gets into power the Ukrainians are in a spot of bother and he knows it. Putin won the war 2 weeks ago this is just Joe lashing out.
As opposed to Russias continued attacks and now getting troops from North Korea?
I'm no geopolitical expert either but I consider the decision by Putin to invade a sovereign state and use Iranian weapons and Norht Korean troops to be a major mistake. Why did he have to cause so much death and destruction? Event s in the next few weeks/months will prove me hopefully right.
A slight bit worried about Putins implied threat of nukes
No surprise obviously about the announcement from us ,we'll publicised phone calls and meetings between the involved parties, so Ukraine will attack Russian assets and Russia will reply, then a big announcement of peace talks and dick swinging, then an announcement of Ukraine will have an agreement with Russia to make Donbass etc a D .m .z and Crimea ,and life moves on ,people made a lot of money and thousands died but they don't care ,on to the next war for them .
It's announced and going to happen.
In my opinion it's an excellent idea. It allows Ukraine to further strike back at it's invader (something they already do with their own missiles)
There's no magic bullet to change course of the war, but it will certainly help. Russia will have a massive headache having to move logistic centres, arms dumps, etc out of the way. Likewise will have to employ many more resources to defend key sites such as military airports.
Russia can respond (weakly) via Iran/Houthis but they won't be striking NATO ships.
The rest of your post is an extension of that fantasy about Iran/Houthi's striking NATO ships which won't be happening.
I can see this good news for Ukraine has triggered the usual suspects.
I'd be very worried with this new instruction from the Biden administration that Ukraine is now free to launch US made long long-range weapons deep into Russia. Surely this is a major escalation of hostilities???
It is ridiculous though, Russia can escalate to the moon apparently (and those aiding Ukraine can never reply). I suppose that's what loads of nuclear weapons does for you (though maybe Russia should try and remember they aren't the only people on this planet with them).
They failed to "win" their war on their own, and they have many 3rd parties quite deeply involved in the invasion now, giving them this kind of aid, keeping the war going on.
Afair, they supply targetting help to the Houthis too, as part of their grey zone attacks on US/Europe on multiple fronts.
I almost hope they are dumb and arrogant enough to carry out a direct attack of some kind on the US.
If they cause enough harm, it might create serious blowback on them that even a friendly "Manchurian candidate" coming into power won't necessarily be able to stave off.
Are you afraid of Russia?
Just because you’re scared, doesn’t mean everyone else is afraid and especially Ukrainians.
If you’re afraid and scared that’s your issue, deal with it.
Some serious gnashing of teeth here from the usual suspects!
American, British or French ultimately depending on the missile. If it's Storm Shadows/SCALP then that's going to be British and French personnel.
It's a really serious escalation and I don't see how the Russians are going to just let it go which is what many seem to be hoping.
The only thing I see mitigating a bigger response is that the US administration only has 2 months left.
The ATACMS (with the aide of some high resolution cameras on satellites) could potentially break the Russian defensive lines in the Kursk region. We could see some large territorial gains into Russia. Kursk city could be occupied. How many more miles to Moscow?
This is bringing the war back home to Russia.
Want it to stop?
Then leave Ukraine
Lads ATACAMS were used in Russia already. They used them on the river crossings in the Kursk region. Now they'll have more scope including deeper into Crimea.
IMO this is a direct response to Russia escalating by allowing North Korea attack a sovereign nation. And the massive russian strike on Ukraine energy infrastructure yesterday probably was the last straw.
I'm going to take a guess and congregations of north Korean troops in Kursk will be hit by these missiles. I'm guessing they'll just move jets and ammo dumps further back out of range but even this hampers logistics and means it Russian jets and helis will be slower to attack.
This decision should have come a long ago but ATACAMS, SCALP, Storm Shadows all getting permission is a welcome boost. I believe we are one step closer to Taurus now. Maybe after the election in a few months. They could drop the Kerch bridge permanently and then move onto other HVT in Russia.
Olaf Scholz is looking worse and worse for not sending the Taurus.
Once again, what are you waffling about???
NATO? Do you mean USA?
NATO personel have to do the targeting with these weapons, not Ukrainians. As Putin said that is a declaration of war on Russia so we just need to see now what the response is going to be.
Seems our Russian sympathetic friends are really riled up. Must mean the decision is a good one.
Glad to see it.
Who cares.
It’s happening and that’s all that matters
How many "escalations" has Russia done (for free) since 2022 now, I think I have lost track? Biggest one being getting Kim the Mad King to send support troops.
