It's Cork or even Killybegs they would use. Facilities available there and no real way to stop them. Probably send a few special forces to take the Dail and media at the same time.
panic in Orwell Road tonight!!!
Yep
ABOUT FCUKING TIME
this should have happened over a year ago.
Disgraceful delays from the Americans.

long range strike permission given by Biden, sucks to be a vatnik now
Musk sold his soul to the devil to buy Twitter, and now he is walking the same road as the dodo.
More details of putin's terrorist attack on the people of Ukraine in this report. If it were not for air defense supplies from friendly nations the civilian death tole could have been even higher.

Stepanivka, Illianka and Nova Illinka captured over the last 24 hours. Hopefully those troops that were about to get encircled north of the reservoir retreated in time. Fighting now taking place in Beretski.
Doubt that would have saved our hides!
We're not really in their blood and land plan.
Or if we converted to Protestantism in the 1500’s
you seriously missed the point.
They got within 60km of Dublin. The Russians could quite easily roll up the Liffey I bet and the whole point is we should have a defence and not fence sitting
Scholz, Trump, Musk all chatty with Putin, then comes biggest attack, was it a green lighted attack to end this war, all okayed by the west to break Ukraine's resolve
The mountains aren't actually on Switzerland's border for the most part, they're in the centre of the country. The main population centres are absurdly exposed and impossible to defend.
Something, something, "they can have our boardwalk junkies" but the seriousness of the conflict makes me refrain from glib jibes but you get the jist.
They don’t need ships to cause countries on other side of world to implode and get mired down in bullshit
Just look at UK and Brexit and US and Trump again
Our own election is coming up too
Putin can't even take Odesa and folk are thinking he's going to what sail on armada of warships up the Liffey and claim the boardwalk? Come on folks, seriously.
This is essentially what Putin's war is about, Russian colonies left behind after the implosion of the USSR, which is ironic considering it was Yeltsin, a Russian who withdrew his nation from the USSR which effectively ended it.
For Putin the war doesn't stop with Ukraine, all the Baltics are in play too, which is why this war won't end until Putin is ended.
Basically we were the wrong side of colonialism.
Our relative isolation was probably our greatest weakness as we were effectively cut off from the continent by Britain which used us as a secure larder for the industrial revolution and supplying imperial adventure while keeping the native population in a constant state of want.
At least Switzerland could have allies on one side whilst repelling an invader on another flank. After Kinsale we were alone.
Even Ukraine recovered its population form the Holodomor whilst we're still at sub replacement levels.

Ukrainian schoolteacher shot down a Russian missile this morning.
Oh i think after Ukraine Putin will go back in his box for at least 5 years. Id say it got a little too hot for him once or twice there.
We are surrounded by rough seas and rocky coastline and far flung. The Swiss would swap for our natural defences in a heartbeat.
Absolutely, literally hundreds of years of proper neutrality. The country has self defence ingrained into its psyche. Its terrain is also very much in its favour. It is choc full of weapons, where the citizens are trained to use them.
So, how do you propose getting Séamus and Silé up to speed to repel an attack from, say, 5,000 Russian Marines?
Or join NATO. If you think an effective self defence is desirable, that’s the only feasible option.
Let's build some ridiculously high mountains on the borders so.
Switzerland does participate in NATO training and standardisation. We do as well to a certain degree. We're just not bound by its pact. France while still participating withdrew from being bound by the pact until rejoining in 2008.
Trump II will probably create friction within the NATO camp again because the US will insist on dominating it while simultaneously parlaying with Putin which completely undermines the point for the eastern side of the transatlantic alliance.
Trump II will in most likelihood see the emergence of an EU defense pact to counter the general untrustworthiness and inconsistancies of the US.
Edit to add anyone thinking that the US wouldn't undermine has to consider that only 3% of US voters cited international security as a primary concern. If Trump told Putin "take what you want buddy of Europe buddy" the majority of US wouldn't care as long they can afford to fill up their F150 to get to their Wallmart pharmacy to get their ozemphic.
Switzerland seems to have it's **** together in that regard.
You haven't factored in that Putin wouldn't accept the current gains while Ukraine has a bit of Russia.
Plus accepting a land swap with Putin would completely undermine the point of NATO which was set up as a bulwark against landgrabs. Success for Putin in Ukraine would have him preparing for liberating/invading parts of the Baltic states as he will have determined that the NATO alliance is all talk and no action.
Trump is unpredictable but a number of European countries have committed to support Ukraine for as long as it takes and Ukraine has massively increased their domestic production of military equipment including drones that we can see eliminating putin's terrorists on the battlefield every day. I don't think it is possible to force Ukraine to do anything. They may be stepping back in places to allow putin's terrorists burn through more of their men and equipment but they now have shown they can use their own home produced weapons to strike deep into the russian federation meaning the entire economy of putin's empire is dependent on reaching a settlement in Ukraine and the people of Ukraine seem to have no apatite for rewarding putin's terrorists in such an agreement. Trump may even boost US supplies to Ukraine to get putin's terrorists out of Ukraine faster and be seen as the great one to bring the war to an end.
The way things are shaping up with Trump and Europe a bit divided and tired of the seemingly no end in sight with the current level of support it looks like Putin will get to keep the land he has now and some sort of settlement if you could call it that will be forced on Ukraine. The numbers always favoured Putin unfortunately so there is little to no chance of him being pushed back and out .When whatever deal is done wonder how long before Putin or his successor starts planning for another chunk of land .I am fairly despondent about the likely outcome now even if I always thought it would pan out the way it looks like doing .
