Intersting post here form the Jerusalem post form a few days ago.

Hezbollah have taken a real pounding, and are ready to quit.

After over a year of launching aerial attacks against northern Israel, Hezbollah has reportedly begun to crack as the Iran-backed terror group has experienced a wave of desertions, sources told the Arabic independent online newspaper Elaph in a report published Sunday.

Those defecting, according to the source, are not reporting when summoned by senior terrorists and not waiting in their assigned locations. Other terrorists have reportedly fled to Syrian territory with their families, attempting to avoid any confrontation with Israel at close range.

That good news is followed up with news of an impending ceasefire arrangement.

The proposed deal to be agreed by Israel, Lebanon, the U.S. and others, includes three components. The first is a wider implementation of UN resolution 1701, passed after the 2006 Second Lebanon War, that would ensure there would be no Hezbollah terrorists south of the Litani River, and at a significant distance from Metula. Lebanon's army is to deploy 5,000 to 10,000 troops along the border. UNIFIL forces will be increased, perhaps some, replaced by French, British and German forces. Israel has approached those countries to see if they would agree.

So, thw war in Lebanon could be over very shortly.

Amazing what can happen when Terrorists see reason.

Israel is getting ruined at the border with Lebanon, countless tanks and soldiers killed when they try to go on the ground.

Riddle me this - if Hezbollah were truly on the brink then why would Israel be discussing ceasefire that all?

It is not their modus operandi to negotiate with terrorists, instead they seek to destroy them at any (civilian) cost.

Sure there was a ceasefire agreed by previous hezbollah leader before the IDF dropped several tonnes of explosives on his head - why would Israel discuss ceasefire now when their enemy is much weaker?

Great - Hezbollah and Israeli terrorists both seeing reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 894 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

The Israeli's have no interest in 'Colonising' Lebanon.

They want Hezbollah back beyond the Litani River as per Un Resolution 1701.

Looks like it might happen. 60 day cooling off period.

The report is from yesterday morning.

How can Hezbollah continue if their men are deserting in droves? And that's from an arabic news channell.

I don't know why you're telling me that there are Hamas/Sinwar supporters on here - go and debate that with them. I'm not some kind of middle-man…

I can't speak for others but I am certainly not a supporter of any terrorist organisation - Hamas, Hezbollah or Israel. Do you think I'm a Hamas supporter?

You said 10 to 15 people jumped on your posts stating their support of Hamas - you made the claim, you back it up. That the accepted etiquette. I certainly did not see 10 to 15 posters doing that.

You've made some very sweeping accusations that are pretty dubious to be honest.

Wow it's from an Arabic new channel so it must be true.

It wouldn't be like you to post disingenuously on this thread

Hezbollah death cult seeing reason and retreating, with their terrorist tails between their mangy Jihadist legs.

Israeli's waving them off, and returning home to the only functioning Democracy in the entire region.

that old line, only functioning democracy.,,

    it’s a genocidal slaughtering government

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 894 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

Yes, given your history of posting, i think you support Hamas. But I can't go into the reason's as that would be an Ad Hominen, I think, and I'd probably get a ban for attacking the poster and not the post.

It's a democracy in name only. It's a far right and very violent state, with many authoritarian aspects (which is why it is loved and admired by authoritarians everywhere).

    I don't post disengenously.

If there's an issue with the Report, take it up with them. I'm not editing the content, if that's what you think.

    Riddle me this Sheepy.

Using your own tracker…which I hope you have got to grips with.

Israel-Gaza war in maps and charts: Live tracker | Israel-Palestine conflict News | Al Jazeera

Why have so many people been killed and injured in the West Bank since 7-Oct?

    • Killed: 763 people, including at least 166 children
    • Injured: > 6,250 people

How do they get Israel to stop murdering/maiming people in the West Bank?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Yea but Hamas gave them the excuse, blame Israel all you want for how they treat Palestinians but Hamas shouldn't have launched the attack, it was never going to gain anything for them or the people in Gaza. It doesn't matter what the world thinks of Israel, they simply don't care and in a few years they'll have a new Government and will have a new story. All the while taking land in the west bank and probably Gaza too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,043 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

No….but no other democracy in the 'western' world is run like this or behaves in this manner, not even some of the more controversial ones.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 894 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

The West Bank is the key to the whole region.

So, you release the hostages, make Hamas surrender and find a Plausible leader, who isn't a terrorist to begin realistic negotions on the future of the west bank.

That will mainly revolve around the Oslo agreement, and the Palestinians will have to accept both land swaps and the surrender of some West back territory essential to guarantee Israel's safety.

That's the harsh reality of it. 85 to 90% of Palestine is better than the current situation and no Palestine at all. They have to have someone in place who's prepared to suck it up.

    We did, after all.

The US has The Hague invasion law. A law that permits them to invade the Netherlands to rescue any of their citizens or allies jailed for war crimes.

That seems rather convenient for you, do you think?

Accusing me of being a Hamas supporter then offering no evidence whatsoever…

I asked you a very specific question on the numbers killed and maimed in the West Bank. The Hamas attack came from Gaza. I am asking about the numbers killed and maimed in the West Bank. Seem excessive?

Those West Bank numbers you ignored...

    • Killed: 763 people, including at least 166 children
    • Injured: > 6,250 people

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Barghouti. If there were elections in the West Bank he would win. He is far more popular than Abbas. Of course Abbas is afraid to have an election for that reason. He has become very wealthy during his 18 years in office without an election.

Barghouti has blood on his hands but so did Shamir and others from Irgun who went on to lead the state of Israel. He is someone whose opinion carries weight. Perhaps if there was a credible partner on the other side he would renounce violence.

How do they get Israel to stop murdering/maiming people in the West Bank?

You asked me how to stop the incidents in the West Bank.

I told you, providing a strategic plan for peace in the region.

Interesting. I didn't know that. I doubt it will ever come to that. What US Aligned country would ever arrest Bibi? I don't think a warrant will be granted for Bibi or Gallant in any case. The pressure being put on behind the scenes will ensure that.

    Waffle.

Why are Israel targeting the West Bank citizens so much? What have they done wrong? Are the IDF in mortal danger in the West Bank?

These numbers are up there with the Oct 7th attack by Hamas in Gaza. Yet you don't seem bothered. You found the numbers in your tracker. Why is IDF killing so many innocent people in the West Bank? Is it excessive?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 894 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

The reasons for what's happening in the West Bank are well known.

You'd have to work your way through each individual incident.

Do you want to give a brief synopsis on why Israel is killing and maiming people in the West Bank since Oct-7?

    Are they innocent civilians?

166 children seem excessive? 22% of all killed. Individual incidents?

Your incorrect 10,000 figure was also "well known" until you learned how to read your own tracker.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Yea but Hamas gave them the excuse

    Literally what I just said.

blame Israel all you want for how they treat Palestinians

I'll blame Israel for what they deserve to be blamed on and that is decades of mistreatment of a people they consider to be untermenchen and the rape of their land. I blame them for the wanton slaughter of innocents, the spoliation tactics of destroying civilian dwelling and infrastructure, the deliberate targeting of hospital and first aid facilities, the criminal obstruction of much needed food and other supplies that civilians urgently require, the murdering of journalists and a whole host of other crimes they have committed.

It doesn't matter what the world thinks of Israel

On the contrary, world opinion very much does matter. Israel have shown themselves what the really are and it'll take many years for them to wash their hands of their atrocities.

Do you have any interest in peace in the region at all?

What sort of democracy makes it almost impossible for Arab people get voted in?? Likud are trying to force it through at the moment.

Of course I want peace. I have wanted the slaughter of innocents to stop since Day 1. On both sides.

However you have completely ignored my questions (no surprise there) with a complete tangent question in response.

Lets try again. West Bank killing/maiming is the topic. Focus now.

Q1. Do you want to give a brief synopsis of why Israel is killing and maiming people in the West Bank since Oct-7?

    Q2. Are they innocent civilians?

166 children killed in the West Bank. 22% of all killed. Q3. Does this seem excessive to you? Individual incidents?

Your incorrect 10,000 figure was also "well known" until you learned how to read your own tracker.

3 questions. Do your best. Have the courage of your "convictions".

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?
