In 2000 in Camp David the Palestinian's got a peace offer. Arafat walked away without making a concrete offer. It has been tghe issue with Palestinian peace proposals since 1948.
And there was Jews being attacked in Arab villages pre the 1948 agreement. It was just hours after the British withdrew from Israel/Palestine that the Arab armies attacked the new Israeli state.
