Following Israel’s massive strike on a residential neighbourhood in Dahieh overnight, the Civil Defence – administered by the Ministry of Interior - received a call saying any teams heading to the area within 72 hours of the attack will be struck, they told the BBC.
Lebanon’s national news agency said the Prime Minister Najib Mikati has made several calls to foreign officials asking them to pressure Israel to allow search and rescue teams to do their work.
Israel has hit rescue teams and health workers across south Lebanon and in Beirut, killing and wounding dozens. Yesterday the Lebanese minister of health said Israel had killed 97 health and search and rescue workers so far and injured 188.

Tbf, post #6 on this thread was warned for antisemitism, so it didn't take long to rear it's head.
I've had plenty of issues with Israel's behaviour over the years, but since October 7th last year there has been a drift from reasonable criticism of Israel to gradually more open antisemitism.
A lot of this is coming from the far left who ironically envoke the spectre of Nazi Germany at every possible opportunity yet ignore the far lefts unsavoury history of antisemitism.
I used to find claims of criticism of Israel being antisemitic to be preposterous, but the last year has given me a new perspective (Australian far left anti Israeli protestors chanting "gas the Jews" was an early bellweather), this conflict isn't a sports event, we're not expected to pick a side and support them no matter what.

So far i have not seen anyone here criticising Jews. Outrage is about Israeli politics and actions. Religion and politics are different things. Just like it is in Iran with Muslims and their Mullahs.

Being a block has its limits , its never been tested to breaking point. Large Creditor nations like Germany underpin it. There are issues with one currency but not a unified treasury. As for Russia I dont think they are going anywhere even though they have their own demographic issues too

Your point re: Iran makes no sense. Iran has threatened Israel on a number of occasions. Iran fired scores of drones, some cruise missiles and some ballistic missiles at Israel in April. They launched ~200 ballistic missiles towards Israel earlier this week. Since the early 1990s, Iran has been sponsoring Hamas. They've given them military aid, training and financial aid. I could go on both I think I've made my point.
Israel and the majority of the countries in the region were normalizing relations prior to October 7th. That was clear for the world to see. That's Israel's motive. This war will end and I hope that the region continues down that path. Hamas' motive is clear also but very different. Let's see what the Hamas Covenant has to say about the Jewish state of Israel and killing Jews around the world.

This isn't advocating or supporting anything, it's the opinion of Western Intelligence agencies, including the Americans and British, an opinion that makes logical sense.
You may have noticed that i didn't mention Iran's airforce. An airforce is useful to attack an enemy who has no effective defences against air attack. Like tanks, aircraft of this sort are moving into the realm of outdated weapons.
As I said above to thatsdaft, I didn't bring up the airforce as it is on the way to becoming irrelevant as an attack tool to a fully modern military and only useful for shítting on people without any air defences.. As high-quality air defences become more common and more effective, different weapons are required which is why Iran's hypersonic missiles are a game changer as they can get through.
Neither did I mention "iron dome". Israel's air defences were designed to stop Hezbollah and Hamas, not Iran. Israel's anti-missile defences are in tatters - which is why it's now generically called PaperDome®. I'd say any country that bought Israeli air defence systems is now looking for a refund. And they won't be selling any more of them to anyone either; all that capacity in their factories now out-phased. Their much-vaunted military industry is going under as we speak, along with their currency
