I really dont know , the positive scenario is that both sides kind of need a "fake because" to end this and Trump would be the one to deliver that, lord knows Harris has no gravitas in this regard or a more negative scenario is that it carries on til an obvious capitulation or some messy event down the road.
I don't there'd be a drop off in oil exports, so there finance for a post Putin government.
Another fly in the ointment I see is that as far as the Russian economy goes in many ways putin needs the war to continue. Defence spending is currently propping up their economy as war economics tend to. If that tap were to shut off the internationally worthless ruble, the massive drop off in international sales and exports, the sanctions and the swelling rate of inflation would come into very sharp focus.
Yeah heard it a few hrs back. Not sure but seems Ukraine left it late pulling out some of their forces from there so I say lost a lot of troops trying to get out.
We're off topic now but back in the early 1930s many strategists thought the next big war would be between the US and UK, the US even had War Plan Red with air bases built specifically for an invasion of Canada.
The US also developed War Plan Orange in which it was attacked by Japan and the British Empire as allies.
Back on topic Putin at the time of the Crawford ranch visit to Bush Jr was considered an ally.
Golden Bowel movement
If you've the begging bowl out while engaged in a bowel movement, you don't want to be on your knees
Not good
Whoops, He probably had a bowl and a bowel movement when he was on his knees. 🤣
Nothing worse than someone with a begging bowel.
I think Britain was depleted when Churchill went to the Americans with a begging bowl, and even more depleted when negotiations were completed. Churchill signed over the family gold, silver, and diamonds to get them involved. Apart from the US Dollar replacing Sterling as the World Trading Currency, there were little things like the gold reserves that had been transferred to South Africa so that the Nazis could never get their hands on them. A Royal Navy ship sailed down to SA to pick them up to hand them over to the US, and that ship was tailed by a US Navy ship because they didn't trust the British. I think that was part of the "Special Relationship" that we often hear about. 😛
There wasn't support for the US entering the war until Pearl Harbour, which puts the US direct involvement to just over half the length of WWII.
If the Japanese hadn't attacked then there's no guarantee that the US wouldn't have parlayed with Hitler once Britain was depleted.
I was listening to a youtube show about Putin's rise to power, the presenter mentioned that Putin has been in charge of Russia for only five years less than Stalin's reign. I had never thought of it that way, the pool of piss can't come soon enough.
The band look like they're Dutch military, so they're already getting paid regardless. They probably own the lights for their own shows as well.
October 2025/2026/2027......
"1st October, but I didn't say which year"
Speaking of Kursk… what's the latest on Putin's deadline for taking it back?
He will convince Putin to end the war?
We know how negotiations will go
Trump will offer invaded Ukrainian land in exchange for temporary "peace" from Putin.
Trump's big plan was to tell them both to quit (as if both sides are equally at fault) and that if Putin doesn't stop, then the US will give Ukraine everything it wants (clue: he won't) and that if Ukraine doesn't accept, that the US will stop supporting Ukraine (clue: which he'll do regardless)
Think about that for a moment. Imagine the US president during WW2 telling Hitler he can keep what he invaded and that the US would drop support for Europe if it didn't accept that. Exactly, unthinkable, but that's where Trump is going.
Trump is a TV reality show host and a business man, he doesn't understand how bleach works let alone nuclear triad. He couldn't point to Ukraine on a map. It's highly likely he will be played by Putin - now normally presidents have teams of advisors to mitigate that, but Trump, if he gets in, will surround himself with sycophantic boot-lickers who, unlike his first presidency, won't be able to protect us from his worst impulses.
So yes, if Trump gets in, Ukraine by default will get shafted either way. It's one of the reasons they've seized Russian territory.
If Trump gets back in the White House he'll be invited to sit in a limo with Putin at the head of a parade through Kyiv after throwing Ukraine to the wolves. I'd be more than feckin annoyed if it ended like that. Trump doesn't give a toss about Ukraine, or even the fate of the rest of Europe.
To be clear; "exciting" being you don't know but have (yet again) shoehorned Trump in to this for some absurd reason to tell us all about how everything he 'will do' shall be amazing; even if it meant screwing over Ukraine to appease his mate. Some strategy…..
Flies? Two years ago I wouldn't have had a fly up here.
The only thing trump can salvage are the flies around his adult nappy.
If Trump forces Zelensky to give away chunks of Ukraine(not that I think Zelensky will allow it) then you absolutely should be annoyed. Not forgetting the people on that territory who will be genocided.
We know from common sense that you don't incentivize good behaviour by rewarding bad and from history that giving dictators what they want doesn't stop them. It encourages them.
Unless Trump has some magic wand to force Putin out of Ukraine's sovereign territory then there's absolutely nothing "exciting" about his plan.
Lets hope for Trump to salvage something? The only thing Trump would be interested in is begging for salvaging rights and mining rights from Putin to try to make a quick buck.
He has proven time and time again he has zero concern for the fate of Ukraine and it is just a political plaything for him. If you think Ukraine is bad, wait until you see it left to Russia's "tender mercies" by Trump. Bucha was just a foreshadow.
Has he got the concept of a plan yet? /s
that the exciting bit, nobody knows how negotiations will go, will you be annoyed if it ends?
What's Trump going to be salvaging? 🤔
and yet look where Europe is , de-industialising , Germany especially because their cheap energy is being restricted and look at the mood changing around Europe , lets hope for Trump to salvage something but even at that it will take a generation or more to repair relations if ever
A flurry in Mordor
The Kremlin really is a cancerous regime. Those propping Putin up won't be judged kindly by history, however much they might try to hide behind the 'neutrality' badge.
