Ohh just another thing that might save you money if you are buying the same machine as you had from ResMed PEI.
When I sent back the Airsense they told me to only send the machine and the power supply.

So, all I had to buy was the machine.. I already had the water tank/ humidifier. and the climate line heated tube.. which is about €160 currently off the cpapstore website. And the pillow mask is another €85 saved…
Was just coming to post the same. I presumed that the tubing and humidifier was going to have to go back. Would have saved me a bit if I'd known, but at least now I have a bit of redundancy.
Ahh yeah.. there is that.. handy to have spares.
Those heated tubes are feckers for failing.
And its handy to be able to leave washed bits drying overnight and use spares.

As I said previously, my specialist said I didn't need a cpap, and suggest I try to get a MAD. I checked with local dentists and orthodontists, but none make these.
It might be worth contacting one of the Shields brothers, they have all the equipment to build what you're looking for, whether they'll stand over it for sleep apnea is another question, I'd be interested to know though,

I stopped using it after couple of months as my mouth was always sore but sleep has been awful last few months so may need to go back or have another sleep study.
Did you find it helped when you were using it?

@NIMAN why did the specalist say you don't need a cpap, was the cpap not working. Just wondering as there's a few things it could be, is your blood oxygen dipping at night but cpap not helping?

Can’t really say. My mouth was always sore (prob grinding in sleep) so I wasn’t getting good sleep.

I've never been on a cpap machine, only ever had the little monitor fitted to my fingers overnight (well 2 nights actually) to test my apneas, and it was from this data the specialist said I was on the mild side and that it wasn't severe enough to warrant a machine.
The fact that you are not sleeping well may have nothing to do with SA. If I go to sleep without my mask I sleep relaxed, its a lovely feeling, though I do wake a few times caused by the apnoeas. However if I do it while wearing an oximeter I can see that I am seriously affected by low blood oxygen, so its not a good idea to not use the machine.
If you got yourself a recording oximeter (or if you have one of the watches that can do it) you would be able to check your blood oxygen. If you are not getting severe drops more than a couple of times in the night then you probably have nothing to worry about. Improving your sleep is a different thing and may be due to a number of things including irregular bedtimes, being too cold or too warm, alcohol or caffeine before sleeping, any number of things.
@niman MAD didn't help me at all - but I had/have fairly chronic SA. I went to a consultant in the Hermitage.
I was going to look into buying a smart watch which monitored blood oxygen levels, but I assume the device i had on my finger from the specialist must have done that? And if it did, then they didn't see anything out of the ordinary otherwise I would have been recommended future treatment?

This is the one I purchased and I found it did what I needed. It is shown with German info and instructions but the one I got is in English. I did ask was it in English and got a rather ambiguous answer, but it arrived set up in English. The thumb fitting is comfortable to wear, better than the fingertip one. However if you have large hands it may be snug, its fine on me.

It's worth buying one or even borrow a friends for a few days, you'll pick up something cheap on adverts as they're quite expensive new, one or two nights isn't a clear picture at all, I've had nights with no cpap and my oxygen is perfect then others it's all over the place. Get one that does constant monitoring and sleep data, constant heart rate ect.
I was back at the consultants the other day and showed him the oxygen data from the last few months since I started using the cpap as he only had 1 nights data from when resmed sent me out a finger monitor before the consultation. I had a few questons around it and showed him how I can have bad nights even with the cpap, anyway he rubbished my data as it uses a technology called bluetooth, then started explaining to me about bluetooth. I sat there in awe at what I was listening to from an expert. Long story short I now have more faith in Dr Samsung than the consultant to help me get off the cpap. No follow up consultation booked, I might even buy my own cpap now as i'm not getting the point of it being linked to the consultant anymore.
Anyone got any good recommendations for a smart watch, or fitness tracker which does a decent job of monitoring your spo2 over a long period of time?
I'm not sure of the accuracy of these devices though reading some reviews of them. So don't want to be spending hundreds.

Shur its only a comms protocol.. how would that affect the watch storing readings from its Spo2 monitor?

I'm using the philips DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP Advanced for the last 2 yrs. I wear it every night and dont notice the mask anymore. I was at the severe level AHi 53 per hour. I used to be wrecked in work during the day, I didnt feel comfartable driving late in the evenings as I used to get so tired. That foggy feeling when waking up in the morning.
After even 3 days on it I felt like a new person, I'm paying monthly rent of €104 and was thinking of just buying one on line. I see they are only €800 for just the machine, no accessories included. I may request new mask and tubing before i leave Air Liquide.
You can claim against the Drug Refund Scheme which would mean you would pay a maximum of €80 a month for all prescribed medication plus cpap machine and masks, it might be worth considering.

He just didn't get it and I wasn't in the humour to give him a free lesson, mentioned the new one is fda approved, then he went back to the but it's Bluetooth.

Yes, first you have to sign up for a DRS card then your pharmacy costs over €80 are refunded automatically. If you have other expenses that are covered under the scheme you submit invoices, including your pharmacy invoice, each month and they are refunded. The refund takes about 2 months to come through - you submit pharmacy invoice and other invoices dated January as soon as you can, in my case in early February, and the refund comes as a cheque in early March.
I just started doing it and I leave it to each year, perhaps I'm lucky to do that. But make sure you send the form / receipt you sign when getting your prescription.
Yah its a massive PITA.
The resmed app now connects with Android and Apple, I had to dowload the app from the play store and set up an account, put in my machine serial number etc, it seems different from the normal res med app.
