Aw that's an awful shame. Lottie has absolutely no talent and bleats on about celebrities like she's a 21yr old girl instead of pushing 40 like she is. The only reason she got the job was because she's Gerrys daughter. She leap frogged a tonne of potentially talented radio presenters to get the job and the worst thing about her is she hasn't a fraction of ambition in her whole body.
You are right...she will still be there reading about Conor Mcgregors wayward son acting up in nightclubs when she is pushing 70. So weird that she hasn't worked anywhere else her entire life talk about arrested development.
Apparently a few years back Radio Nova were clamouring to sign her up.
The only reason for her to leave is to prove herself as someone who isn’t where she is because of nepotism. There’s surely no financial incentive or job security they can offer that rivals RTE
I think this would be the best they could do for a daytime schedule (using only current hosts):
6am-9am Carl and Aifric
9am-12pm Laura Fox
12pm-2pm Tracy Clifford
2pm-4:30pm Blathnaid Treacy or Conor Behan, or maybe both?
4:30pm-7pm Jenny Greene
With Beta and Dan on after Game On. Not sure who would do weekend breakfast or weekend afternoons though? Maybe someone like Tara Walsh?

exactly, it should be on Radio 1 but moving the Radio 1 schedule seems sacroscant these days, the slots (if not the presenters) been the same for getting on for 15 years now.
Music show/MI/1 hour lighthearted stuff/2 hours news&CA/1hour music/News/Liveline/Lighthearted slot/Drivetime/Arts/music/news&CA (most nights - Mooney on monday because they have to)/Music/
The onely real changes I can recall in the past 20 years weekdays have been Drivetime getting longer and mooney swapping his show for D'Arcy. Probably mystery train going to lyric.
I'd actually move it to RTÉ2 television at 7. Tonight on TV3 seems to work as a TV programme when its largely a radio service. Also RTÉ2 has no programming, while the show can have an audio podcast on their super-duper new radio app which they plan to launch. It could even broadcast live on RTÉ Radio 1 Extra if they were will to keep that station going.
Blathnaid Tracey, Beta de Silva and Conor Behan are all presenters I wouldn’t rate in the slightest. They would be better off taking presenters from Spin. And I wouldn’t keep Aifric with Carl. I’ve never heard a good show from the pair of them the last few months.

I turned to RTE Gold and Fanning (who I don't really like) was feeding me loads of info about the tracks he was playing. Different type of show I know, but there was substance and a willingness to be honest and offend.

I really liked Beta on the 7pm new music show, lots of talk about the music itself, where to check out the new bands live etc, and he was great at promoting new irish bands and acts, I'd agree his slots apart from this are a bit meh....I'd like to see him back on the new music show, he was a great fit for it.
to be honest, its terrible radio mostly, the presentation is not great. Its either low levels or they are muttering off mic. Ruby especially is terrible, but has been there for years.
It's such a poor program. And like a square peg in a round hole on that weekday schedule. How does it compare to Off the Ball in the JNLRs or does it even feature? Ruby on Mondays and Tuesdays, presumably on a handy retainer for two hours work, offers very little and a poor presenter.
no idea where it sits against OTB, but last night you couldnt hear Marie doing her preview of what was coming up over the into music. Ruby was muttering away again. Every night its been like this for ever, why cant they sort this simple thing out??
Before it was rejigged it was an actual proper sportsnews show, they seriously downgraded it when Ruby/Donnacha were put in as hosts and they have just left it there to fill in an hour for years. Its a problem with that show itself because it doest happen on any other RTE sports show or indeed any other 2FM show.
I am not a fan of Sports Radio, but I happened to listen to Sunday Sport intro at the weekend and the preview couldn't be heard over the music.
that surprises me, that's a flagship show. RTE must be suffering a brain drain.
The whole reson for bringing in the two Johnnies to replace Jenny Greene was that the afternoon slot had reached the lowest jnlrs ever at 112k. In fairness to be the two Johns, jnlrs grew up to over 160k thanks to them, so it's surprising that Beta is left there for so long because he's doing the same style of show that Jenny Greene used to do in that slot.
so is it time Jenny returned to drivetime slot ?? They need a strong name there.
I see &Dave is bringing out a book of bad jokes. They're not even his jokes as he gets listeners to send them in.
I suppose he should make hay because he surely won't be in such a good slot for long.
