'Helicopters and planes crash so we are going to object' , that one should be going straight in the bin.
Would they object if a family member was missing in Dublin Bay, as for horses being frightened they should go to Galway races helicopters all over the place, sure you could go weeks with no call out very selfish people.

I was talking to a crew member at UHG last week and the fact they can't stand up and walk around treating a patient is going to be a pain for them as they have to kneel which is not easy.
Yes, would have thought that was the biggest issue. In an era when so much emphasis is put on proper employee body work positions and good work practices, I'm surprised this has been over looked.
But it's used around Europe already, so guess the Irish crews may just adapt and get used to it now.
A crew member told me its smaller in every single metric, but what do they know they are just going to be flying in it, nothing to do with "fanboys" its simply the wrong tool for the job.
If a crew member has a legitimate concern over the suitability of the new equipment I believe there are channels available for them to voice their concerns.
Many of us work with tools when we think that there are better available.
But that doesn't mean the current tool is unsafe.
Being smaller on its own doesn't make it the wrong tool.

What is the typical mission profile, how many casualties, on average? What sort of range?
How does the endurance of the aircraft compare? Does the provision of fixed wing support aircraft reduce the need for helicopters of the service to have to search, orbit, loiter, refuel etc?
The sooner people stop bleating about simplistic and irrelevant criteria when it ces to this matter, the better.
So if the NAS or the DFB rocked up in a Mini Countryman or a Transit Connect you’d be grand with it as well….yeah ?!

Could not put it any better this is what I was trying to say but armchair medics know better. Size matters I have been in one and the stretcher with patient on it can be wheeled in the back and the medics work on the patient standing up.

How do they fare out compared to the IAC 139? Missis does watch the heli rescues on the UK channels and the choppers they use are small compared to the S92 or the new Bristow ones.
Haven't previously being on the PHECC register and driving the merc ambos I'm aware of the layout & size.
All those helis non UK HMCG are not SAR aircraft, they are strictly HEMS.

That’s not how tenders work. There are basic company and operational requirements that must be met before cost and other factors are scored. I assume this tender would have included some sort of Must Not Be A Micro Machines helicopter kind of requirement.
