Its going on ten days … not a couple of weeks.
There were so many pivotal moments in this war that were Hugely embarrassing for Russia…… What happened ?? Nada, nothing.
I am looking for a reason as to why this border incursion would make any difference in the outcome of this conflict.
Those Bayraktars were hugely effective then…. turkey shoot
If border incursions are so worthless why did Russia bother ?
Did I say border incursions are worthless ?
The only time they had air superiority was in their conflict with Prigozhin 😁
Ok . How will Russia's border incursion make a difference compared to this one ?
I have to correct you there. The Russians have perceived Air Superiority. In fact, they are extremely precious about any use of their aircraft and have almost little to no Early Warning, apart from two known operable IL-76's. Air Superiority does not just mean aircraft and we must remember the AWACS and SIGNIT support that Ukraine is receiving from Nato in the form of E-3's, Saab's, etc, plus data-linked satellite surveillance. Ukraine also have superior MANPAD systems.
This, together with the general low airtime of Russian pilots and the inability to fly any more than 2-ship missions without ground controlling and vectoring, reduces their "Superiority" hugely.
I think we could see hundreds, if not thousands of Russian soldiers rushing to Kursk to……Surrender.
Even then, I think I remember the Wagners successfully shooting down attacking helecopters. So even on home turf against rebelling mercenaries, they can’t manage air superiority :P
Just got an email from Microsoft advising me of unusual activity on my account… from Russia. Which Orwell Rd. poster wants to own up? What a horrible regime.
You tell me..
That's a serious natural obstacle. Going to take a serious effort for Russia to stop Ukraine taking everything south of it and then how will they ever go about regaining it. I'm starting to get giddy.
russkies against putin? won't happen. They are to dumb for this. terpilas.
Maybe they want you to update your "Windows"
You'll have to click the image above to see.
If Ukraine want to seriously disrupt Russian logistics they should knock every bridge along that river. It follows the top of the blue area and then the red line. Would make it very hard for Russia to hold anything south of Kursk.
Ukraine would be on the doorstep of the NPP without having to control it and they'd be in the suburbs of Kursk with a large river separating them from the city. Which would force a heavy Russian military presence to hold it. If Ukraine targeted regularly military targets in Kursk city it would cause a massive evacuation of civilians and a decent economic hit.
Russia have already started building pontoon bridges before the bridges were hit and it can be seen in yesterday's satellite images. They'd need to be hit too. Armoured vehicles can cross this river with ease but it'll be a nightmare to supply across compared to Ukraine who won't have a river to traverse.
Vatnik clairvoyance….doesn't always work mind you ( the 3 day special operation being a 3 year war for example)
Korenovo is hugely important for both sides. If Russia holds it they have a platform south of the river to eventually push Ukraine back. If Ukraine take it they've their biggest settlement yet and a great hub to launch attacks further into Russia. It will be protected from the West and South thanks to river.
Thinking the unthinkable.
"Signs of pessimism" about the Russian response to Ukraine's cross-border invasion in Kursk have started to emerge on Russian state TV, according to footage posted on social media.
The invasion seemed to catch Vladimir Putin unprepared, with a major retaliation yet to materialise and Russian forces struggling to stop Ukrainian advances.
Some pro-Kremlin military bloggers and Russian commentators have claimed that Russian forces are pushing back Ukrainian troops - but in one clip posted by BBC journalist Francis Scarr, "signs of pessimism have emerged" - on channels that tend to engage exclusively in cheerleading for the country's military prospects.
Filmmaker and state pundit Karen Shakhnazarov said: "We could lose if such blunders continue. And this isn't defeatism, it isn't scaremongering."

Multiple outlets are reporting that Russians very much care that conscripts are dying in Kursk and being captured in droves
Including for the first time Kremlin being the one begging for prisoner exchange
Putin went to extraordinary ends to ensure mobilisation is very limited precisely so contrarians can say “see Russians are not bothered” and they weren’t bothered when it’s some old alcoholics or non “Russians” from back arse of Siberia or prisoners, they very much are bothered when it’s young kids as Putin’s social contract was to keep them out of the war, especially kids from Moscow
Finally this year’s conscription starts in few weeks, any Russian with a young lad very much cares about now about this.
You asked for official Ukrainian aims, I provided them
You now longer have to imagine aims of this operation are, it’s there in black on white from Zelenskys office and his top spokesman
At least they have aims, I’m struggling to find any concrete aims three years into three day war from the Russian side
Hey I wasn't having a go at you at all i was only responding to that other poster who said I was making stuff up when I wasn't.
But the whole topic is tedious and closed. Absolutely no offence intended
There's a price to be paid eventually by all for the warmongering of the Russian administration.
Did you see Rosenberg's article on the BBC? He said it is astounding how no matter what happens life in most parts of Russia, including Moscow, just goes on as normal, the country is monstrous in size and historically lurches from one despot the next, the average Russian is really not going to be lying awake worrying about a few lost villages in Kursk, it barely seems to even register with most people (for Putin of course it's humiliating).
Remember the massive terror attack in Moscow a few months back. In most countries it would dominate national debate and consciousness for months or years. In Russia a week later it was like it had never ever happened, back to business as usual.
Weird mentality
“Ordinary Russians” from the 155th marine brigade cut off the head of a Ukrainian prisoner (or maybe one of their own) and put it on a stake
And then proceeded to make a video and post it on internet and it ended up on X
Not posting here for obvious reason but it’s top of Ukraine War page
Most regions in Russia report that they have no money to pay for contracted soldiers going to the war.
I hate them.
They sending in conscripts now
US officials report that Russia shifted several thousand troops from occupied Ukrainian territories to the Kursk Oblast, following a surprise Ukrainian incursion, but Russia primarily deploys untrained conscripts there rather than moving its more experienced units from Ukraine.
45% of russians now report of severe anxiety everyday in their lives.
Now that Ukraine is making serious headway into Russian territory, doesnt Putin have a perfect excuse to land a few tactical nukes in around some key targets in Ukraine?
Can someone explain why this wont happen?
If he is as evil as people on this thread say he is...why not?
Because he would lose the support of China and whoever else is still talking to him( which is not many lol)
But more importantly Biden made it clear if Putin uses Nukes he will sink his black see fleet to begin with.
