Well, russians lost 1 su34 and 2 helis on the very first day of Kursk offensive. Fighterbomber posted that if Ukrainians reach the Kursk npp, it would be bad news cos its a no fly zone, or something...
Ah I missed the jet from Day 1. There seems to be a real lack of response from the Russian air force. There must be groups of Ukrainians with stingers or man pads a few km further in they'll hit Russian jets if they try dropping their glide bombs.
Right now it feels like Russia is a rabbit in headlights. They really don't want to pull proper unit's from Ukraine but if this keeps going they might have to give up the Kharkiv offensive at least.
Wonder if Ukraine has to defend this territory what the cost would be ,I wouldn't want them to get too stretched with resources while Putin has plenty of cannon fodder to occupy them .Surely Ukraine can't advance too far into Russian territory.
One desirable outcome would be the below happening. If Russia sends their meat waves to Kursk they may well take it back but it won't be easy. They'll have very few plans drawn up to deal with the current scenario. Especially when Ukraine could go another 1000km West and repeat with another incursion.
I think the plan Will be to hold their positions until the Russians level the place and they'll eventually pull out. Be nice to see a few million Russian artillery shells used on Russia.
What's the typical release altitude for a glide bomb though?
Need to find more information on this
Ukrainians taking more ground tonight. Another thought occurred. Russia when they took areas. Took everything in sight from the locals. Farms were looted and machinery everything taken. By doing this the russians set the precedent that now that ukraine has taken their territory that they are now entitled to strip everything and bring back to Ukraine.
Putin never thought it could occur to him but he authorised his military to do so in the first place to Ukraine.
This is another gift that Putin's military have given his own people by invading Ukraine in the first place. Pompous behaviour believing that you are above all law and people's rights has bitten Putin and the russian people following him in the ass big time. If the egos were never as big then they would never be in this mess.
It's improved a lot for the Russians as they use more advanced glide kits on the bombs now.
In other news reports this Canadian special forces guy from the international battalion raided the NPP last night.
They're all good dogs, Bront.
Man I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Putlers office!
Gotta find out about this
Lol, Russians are spooked. Seeing UAF everywhere.
F16 boogeymen
It's been a very strange few days. Western Allies haven't commented too much on this event and Russia's allies, Iran, NK and China haven't even condemned Ukraine. They probably can't condemn it because then Russia would have to admit what's happening. No Security council meeting being called etc…
I still cannot believe we're at this stage after Germany refusing to allow Leopards be donated, to they can be donated but can't be used to attack Russia, to ok you can now drive them freely into Russia! (not just Germany, just the reluctance and restrictions placed on Ukraine by western countries initially)
"Page doesn't exist", what did I miss?
Would Putin go nuclear if the Polish allowed a few brigades of AFU soldiers to mass at the gates of Kaliningrad?
This made me LOL!😂
It was Russia's own Trucks driving on the road, not advancing UAF. Caused a panic on Russian telegram channels
Was this Ukraine’s plan all along?
Hold the Russians at arms length for the last year until this surprise offensive.
Was the “failed” counter offensive all part of the plan?
That's a roll of 1 for initiative. I'm starting to think they had no plans for fighting on Russian soil, but that could never be, right?
Mission accomplished
Troops being pulled from elsewhere right into ambushes
They'll probably pull troops mostly from across the river in Kherson rather then the Zaporozhye front. Might be an opportunity for Ukrainian marines to secure a decent bridgehead across the river again.
So Ukraine can redraw slowly from Kursk while still fighting, there's no defensive positions but they can still inflict damage on advancing reinforcements. I'd love to see a push on the frontline where Russia have moved troops from.
End of the day, it be easier and less costly for Ukraine to kill Russian soldiers on Russian soil!
We may be starting to see the reason behind this tactic.
Maybe yes. But the scenario you set out is totally bizarre, and not only because of the danger of a nuclear resonse. Why on earth would Ukraine waste valuable manpower on such an adventure?
And what condition are these troops in regarding armoir morale etc seems they can’t make much advances on the frontline?
It's also been reported on Sky and elsewhere. I'm aware of info in the rest of your post and only wanted to know the details of the incident, hoping that the Russians didn't do any or much damage to the Ukrainians. There still don't appear to be any details anywhere.
Which troops are you asking about.
If Ukraine actually have the manpower to extend the frontline like this it could get interesting. I'm actually surprised Russia has wasted so many troops trying to attack the most fortified areas over the last 9 month's. Surely they'd have been better off attacking the less fortified border with Ukraine.
If they've largely exhausted their army and Ukraine has preserved theirs this could turn out to be huge. Russia would need another massive mobilization and I don't think the economy would react to well to that. Or the average Joeski.
A very observant poster on Twitter noticed that it appears to be the Lubyanka in the background. And this is indeed where these two bozos seem to be bringing this poor, old man to for denunciation.
Does the KGB still operate its torture chambers out of the basement there?
The average Joeski will react how Putin tells them to. Putin may not have prosecuted the war itself so well but it looks like he's been quite efficient in quelling domestic dissent. The demonstrations of dissatisfaction which do pop up, you soon don't hear about anymore.
However, I welcome the Russian people to prove me wrong.
