Blyatskrieg?
Looks like estimates are of around 60 POWs from Sudzha.
This is gas...
The whole of Russia is there for the taken, if someone was brave enough to take it .If this was the 1940's such a opportunity would not be lost, Nato could take Russia easy, of course no one wants Russia, they just want them to get out of Ukraine
“For you Ivan the war is over!”
“Thank God, what kept you”
“Sullivan”
They keep going
Also,
The goal of this seems clear to me.
Seize as much Russian territory as possible, dig in when the Russians eventually stabilize the front, and then force the Russians to go on the offensive. When the Russians attack, their only strategy is to destroy everything in front of them. If the fight is on Russian soil, it's Russian towns getting flattened instead of Ukrainian ones. As both sides have found out in the last 2.5 years, attacking well defended positions has usually cost the attacking side dear. If Ukraine play this right, Russia will have to devote experienced units and resources to take this territory back, potentially relieving pressure in Donbass. Make no mistake, Putin will be under enormous pressure to retake this land.
Longer term, if Ukraine can actually take a significant amount of territory and then hold it, then it's a bargaining chip that can used in future negotiations to get their occupied territory back. That has to be the aim, as it's useless to Ukraine otherwise.
This is definitely a big gamble by Ukraine. Reading some of the Ukrainian Telegram sources, it sounds like they've used two fresh brigades with modern equipment for this attack. A big commitment to make while other exhausted brigades with scarce ammunition in Donbass are being slowly forced to give ground.
Is there no war rule that states that the Occupied cannot occupy the occupiers land?

It appears the shoe is on the other foot
The problem for Russia attacking Kharkiv and the rumours of an attack on Sumy is it allows Ukraine to gather forces there and Russia doesn't know if they're for defence or attack. Some pretty good 4D chess going on here. I hope for more good news over the coming days.

Any bets on Ukraine taking Moscow before Russia takes Kyiv?
Ah, it's been a while
if they manage to get to Lgov then it’s going to be a hell of a win for Ukraine.
I’ve seen quite a few videos of cars abandoned on the road from Kursk to the border and Lgov being evacuated.
AFU helicopters are backing the forces from the air and so far the Russians haven’t been able to make any sort of defence.
I wonder if they are aiming to seize the nuclear plant in Kursk. Some karma

Trailer Park Boys do Kursk
Anyone read Julian Ropcke's latest comments? 😂
Seems fitting for today.
There is, it’s after the no fighting in the war room.
I see some comparing the move to Washington's crossing of the Delaware and attacking Trenton. The battles after Trenton showed Washington's military acumen.
Watch the bottom youtube clip before the top.
To Ukraine. Olaf Scholz has approved German equipment be used in Russia by the ukrainian forces.
Slavic civilisation does start in Kyiv, after all. This is merely Ukraine taking back what is historically theirs.
It's weird, all this action and there's no sign of any of the concerned posters who just want peace or are simply concerned about "stuff"? Where's engineerws and their ilk now?

Warned: You've had a number of reminders and warnings to discuss the topic rather than posters.
It could be a good week for those opposed to totalitarianism and their lickspittles, Russia getting rattled in Kursk, it's key allies in Hezbollah and Iran likely to get the living shi7 blown out of them 10 minutes after they escalate again against Israel.
Long and difficult days ahead yet but at least this week looks up.
They should mine the fcuk out any territory they take and make it as unusable as Russian has made eastern Ukraine. Make Russia pay top price for every meter they want to fight for.
I'm sure they would agree that for the sake of peace, Russia should just give up the Kursk region.
I’m surprised this isn’t getting more media attention given how grand of an incursion it is.
Agree very little about this on sky ,rte news.
It may be that western media is limiting reporting on the situation for now in order to help Ukraine maintain the operational silence they require. There'll be time enough afterward to pick through the bones of what was achieved. For now, best not to give Russia any possible accidental intel.
very surprising. Probably the biggest event in the last 12 months and nearly nothing on it. that said, if this thread is any reflection in general interest, there's been a spike in posting, but nothing like the early days.
