Russia's props department does nothing better than to populate those kinds of stories that I was referring to… hence, blanking them. Nothing at all sad about that… although a few might be bitter those plans don't work!
I've always hoped they'd go via Russian territory (weak defence lines) to attack the occupied territories and pre-prepared defences from the rear. It'd be a very risky move as they'd be open on several sides of their forces and I don't think this is it as they'd need even more forces than currently committed.

People worry about what will happen to Russia if it “collapses”
But by every measure they have already collapsed right back to medieval ages sociologically at least with a thin veneer of projected modernity
What sort of people punish their own soldiers (never mind endless stories and photos of prisoner abuse or the dismembered prisoner last week they boasted about by sharing pictures that even UN noticed) by putting them in cages that wouldn’t look out of place in 9th century Putin loves to rave about?
The Ukrainians don't do suicide missions… it's what's elevated them above the Russian's to date - they've fought hard but smart and actually value the lives of their citizens, whether military or civilian. It's why they'll prevail IMHO - they're standing to fight for longer precisely because they've suffered fewer casualties, and the Ukrainian people acknowledge the efforts that are being made to prevent deaths so are willing to endure hardships to defeat Putin.

There is nothing normal about “ordinary” Russians a couple million of whom are directly involved in this war
It’s not Putin who is committing all these crimes single handedly but a good chunk of the population
It’s a society and culture that in my opinion has already collapsed and retrograded centuries into uncultured barbarism
And this is not the first time or location where details of Russians keeping their own soldiers in holes in ground have come out, let’s not forget the time they videos themselves taking a sledgehammer to a head of their own lot

Nobody is claiming they are ordinary Russians. Nobody is defending a single thing that Russian scumbags are doing/ have done in Ukraine. Not a single right minded person. So I don't know who you are trying to win over by claiming them, rather than the Russians in the cages, are the 'ordinary' Russians.
It's the only explanation but seems extremely risky manoeuvre and I expect the vast majority of Ukrainian soldiers will be killed or captured. Ukraine don't generally do these suicide missions and I still struggle to understand the rationale behind this whole episode. Good luck to them

I would have no problem with them killing every Russian soldier they get there hands on, why would you show these people mercy?
If it was me anyway the gloves would be off anyway once they started murdering children the white flag and prisoner card would be off the table.

This will piss off the Russians especially because they won't be able to drop bombs on Ukrainians holding this area but it doesn't really change anything as that pipeline runs through Ukraine regardless.
