One more sleep till tickets go on sale.
That's what I've always done, heard earlier about a friend getting properly searched for stuff last year.
sorry if its already been asked but has anyone had hassle with stewards after pitching a (small) tent in campervan area? would you get away with putting it up later in the evening?
I saw loads of tents big and small throughout, i think as long as their fairly neat next to vans and out of the main thoroughfares you should be ok
great, thank you.
I'd be just fine with that! Enjoyed some late night shenanigans there last year.
First timers here. To what degree do they search you going in? Planning to mainly bring spirits thanks to the Open Can situation. But would like to have 2/3 cans max for when I need to eeeeassse myself back in…. In other words can I plant a few in the middle of my backpack surrounded by hoodies etc? Main drinks will be kept separate and obvious…
Ping Pong, ELG and Arcadia might fall into that too
Yep, they checked last year. Put a sticker on the caravan then once checked and cleared. Best to hide it until checks are over 😂
You’ll be fine doing this. Always kept my extra spirits/cans in a bag tucked away and they’ve never checked.
fingers crossed 🤞🏼
I suppose if it results in everyone buying an extra 4 drinks over the weekend that’s an extra €1m at the bar
No mention of any extra searches by staff except at entry.
Show this to them if they try and search your bag!
Screenshot in the WhatsApp group of ATN insta telling someone that cans don't have to be opened before entering the arena.
Sounds like there's no real alignment on the party line yet so, RE open cans. That could mean it was last minute and the prep needed for proper searches wasn't there... I.e. not enforced?
seems the only place it was mentioned was on the app. its not on the website as far as i can see
Seeing the replies from the ATN insta saying it was a miscommunication, no change to alcohol policy and free flow in effect.
Might be a dumb question; but surely once you open your can of cider/lager the drink loses all life and you're just walking around with a load of flat booze, whether you put a lid on it or not? Either way it's just encouraging people to drink cans faster whether in the campsite or arena.
The TBA for Sunday night, is that still looking like Waxahatchee? Threw the latest album on again this evening, its just is excellent
I'd be thinking it was a mistake at this stage..
.. they're too high profile to be billed as "TBA" - they'd be a Special Guest.
Fairly sure the TBA on the bandstand on Sunday is DJ Deece, at least it seemed that way on his Instagram story a few days ago.
It was on that page earlier, screenshot posted earlier in the thread. Seems to have been removed since.
Hacked by the Melvobots?
Just seen it there. Least that's cleared up
We do it every festival, no issues. We even throw up a tipee the odd time and have never had any problems.
Glad they followed up with this!! They told our group via email earlier that it’s open cans only as per their website and app “drink” section That’s a big big miscommunication alright. Delighted that there won’t be any queues for searches now 👏
Gone from the app. Storm in a teacup!
Also to note BTP was you could bring ONE open can in with you if that's what they were going for - not copious amounts of opened cans spilling all over your jeans :D
All advice is saying to avoid Carrig-on-suir on Friday. Does anyone know if the bridge over the river at fiddown is an option and go through portlaw?
I think they advised to avoid Portlaw previous times anyway. I'd get 2019 PTSD driving through that place again anyway 🙈
