racism pod today 😕
Interview with Brendan Gleeson tomorrow.
Ken’s contribution was interesting but we didn’t need the further views of Marcela whatshername
I didn’t need any of it to be honest. The racism of Spanish speakers in poor countries in far away continents is not something I need to know more about than I already do
it’s genuinely funny that O’Connor thinks one good performance by Osborne means Keenan will be worried. Keenan is the best 15 in the world and probably by a distance at that.
I doubt Keenan is arrogant. When someone plays well on the tour like Osbourne did, anyone would be worried. It just means he has to come back and hit the ground running. If he puts his head down, he’ll likely retain his position. There’s a credible threat to his starting position now where there wasn’t before.
Most of your takes baffle me.
thanks for the sermon Fr.Branno
Great interview. I'd listen to him talk all day
The GAA talking about funding when people point out the GAAGo nonsense and then having AI finals that don’t go to a replay after 70 minutes is some laugh.
..
Jamie Wall was in bad form today, maybe they should have held off reviewing the hurling until tomorrow
enjoyed the chat with Dunphy. I enjoy the mutual respect between the 3 of them.
Felt him and Ken were being overly critical of Heimir Halgrimsson and too dismissive of what he's done for Iceland and Jamaica. Media seem to be taken their frustration of the FAI out on him
Dunphy mentions abortion rights in the US but didn't he tell John Waters in that infamous interview that he was a No voter?
why would they go to a replay after 70? Extra time makes sense.
It's infuriating to hear Ken and Eamon (on this occasion) ask why we couldn't have gone with a homegrown manager as if the last few years never happened! Bradley and Duff being mentioned as if they have anywhere close to the international experience of HH is madness.
HH might not be great, but he has a lot of work to do to be worse than Kenny.
At this stage they just want to bash the FAI in any way they can, its becoming a really tough listen.
I know Ken was on a wind up but his take on the hurling was funny, also Jamie saying every gobsh1te in Ireland would be moaning about the grab all association if the match went straight to a replay.
Ken saying it was his birthright to watch hurling. I was impressed with how easy the bullshít flowed. Murph wasn't biting unfortunately
Yeah, Murph was just waiting for Ken to finish his stream of consciousness rather than properly joining in. His tone was a little bit like it was when there was anti-GAAgo emails.
Jamie wall being miserable
Really cool to hear Eamonn mention Robin Friday at the start of the podcast. This guy's life could fill a 6 episode series at least.
Good spot.
I remember that as well, he pleaded this as Waters told Dunphy to f… off.
Give the listener a bif of credit.
I remember dunphy turning more to the yes side as that campaign wore on and more of the personal stories came out etc
I suppose if the person you bring on to talk about the no side calls you a bollocks, tells you to f off, and storms out after being asked a few simple questions - and then after that you have a civil conversation recorded for the same episode, with someone representing the yes side - well, then, it might possibly make you reconsider your position - I dunno?
I remember Dunphy saying, rather weakly, to Waters that he was a no voter, as Waters was flouncing off mid tantrum. I don't know how seriously to believe that. I felt it was just Eamon being Eamon and thinking of something in the heat of the moment to try to keep his guest happy.
Either way, it was a truly spectacular meltdown from Waters
dunphy was a no on the divorce referendum, I think he was telling waters he was a no voter because he was a no voter.
Hey, who knows?
What you are saying about his attitude to the divorce referendum checks out:
Campaigns against divorce: later gets divorced.
Hold on, are people suggesting that Dunphy‘s politics aren’t always 100% consistent?? 🤯
I was under the impression Ciara Mageean had a good chance of a medal but just had a look at the odds and she's best price 50/1 and 7th favourite 😯
Not sure why I'm posting that here apart from that she's a friend of the show.
Enjoyed the chat with Oisín and his buddy.
