Can you point to any misinformation I posted? I'll wait.
He posted photos online of the tent assault. He apologised for the assault outside the pub and was fined for that assault.
"Your like Harris and his double standards"
Maybe stop posting nonsense as well and then attacking people when you get called out
Like adults normal act on a discussion forum.
I already posted and quoted you
You left out the part were McGahan lied about it. CCTV footage showed him up. He followed the couple to continue the argument. He was fined, not the victims. You also left out Harris saying "zero tolerance", except assault can be excused if the perpetrator is Fine Gael.
He wasn't fined.
A High Court jury has ordered Fine Gael senator John McGahon to pay a man €39,000 over a late night assault outside a Co Louth pub.

A fine is the amount of money a judge decides that a person has to pay as punishment for an offence. The court sets out the amount to be paid and the number of days allowed to make payment.
You've been everywhere 😂
So no, you were just posting misinformation.
"The jury, after just under 3¼ hours, found Mr White had been assaulted and awarded a total of €60,000, including €10,000 for aggravated damages"
Again still waiting for you to clarify your position if it was a shinner and mlmd backed him after being found guilty in a civil court of assault ? Let's be honest you would be all over her like a bad rash. Double standards as I say just like Harris you poor lamb.
I copied and pasted what Simon said 🤣🤣🤣
Leave you to it, hilarious 😹
2 things to clarify there
It was a decree for damages, not a fine
Secondly, the judge apportioned the blame for the fraccas 65:35 meaning the accuser was seen as partly to blame
Hence having the award reduced from 60k to 39k
It's a distasteful incident but isn't it also one the main opposition party can't really make hay out of,due to glass houses and some of their party members histories, including a senior SF front bench spokesperson having been prosecuted for assaulting a Garda according to the Dáil record, and ergo its allowed Harris to quietly let McGahons political ambitions die
Yes, he has been ordered to pay damages in response to a civil suit.
He hasn't been ordered to pay a fine in response to a criminal charge.
There is a significant legal difference between being ordered to pay a fine and being ordered to pay damages. In fact, the differences are so significant that you could be sued for defamation for getting them wrong.
And that is exactly the same as what I posted.
He was assaulted
Every judgment is a decree. You are pussyfooting around the fact he was ordered to pay for an assault he committed and apologised for.
The judge only fined McGahon.
What has the main opposition party got to do with it? FF/FG/Green thread. Why try change the subject? Harris is a hypocrite.
He was fined for carrying out an assault.
Never claimed he was a 'convicted' criminal.
McGahon lied to the Garda about the assault. Got found out. Got fined/had to pay for an assault. Harris is a hypocrite.
If I'm reading you correctly, you are a Green party supporter, who just the other day didn't even know McGahon's name. Why work so hard to defend a party that turned on your own party in the recent LE's?
Again,it was an award of damages
Only 65% of which was rewarded as the judge did proportion some blame to the accuser
The oppositions glass house situation is very relevant because unfortunately it gets Harris out of the pickle of having to more bluntly deal with the situation, ergo not ruffling any party feathers as do ya know he can let McGahons political career suffer its own death, its called astute management (of the situation)
Because McGahon assaulted someone. That's the take away. He lied to the Garda too. Then Harris shrugged it off and is putting him forward as a candidate in the GE, after saying he was all for "zero tolerance".
Not at all. Harris did what he did, just because you think others can't call him out, doesn't help his reputation as a complete hypocrite.
He wasn't fined, stop defaming the man.
You can only be fined if you are convicted of a crime.
You clearly don't understand the legal niceties.
I am merely correcting your misinformation and lies that you are spreading. The man has not been fined.
Well as I said,it's for the main opposition to be calling him out on that and unfortunately they can't due to their own glass house but I'm agree'ing with you on the double standards
It's quite improper in my opinion that he isn't sanctioned in his party/expelled,never mind allowed to embarass himself at a selection convention
But thats real politik again for you,Harris knows it'll all quietly go away doesn't he and Harris avoiding any fall out
SF already full of criminals and linked with organised crime , hence why I wouldn’t vote for them
As I said I don’t vote for FG either and would never vote for that guys
Still doesn’t excuse you lying about him
More personal comments
You lied, instead of admitting it you went on the rampage against the person who pointed it out. Do you think this is how adults act? Lie about something and when corrected start shouting at the person instead of admitting it
And there we see it again and again, Government supporters dancing on the head of a pin, like they did when defending Varadkar over leaking of a confidential document. But if it was another party you can be sure they would be calling for heads and all sorts. You could apply Trumps quote "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters" to FFG supporters and I bet this is exactly how members of the government feel.
You are trying to divert attention away from Harris being a hypocrite. You and I don't need a third party to comment to discuss Harris putting someone who lied to Garda and carried out an assault up for candidacy.
It's amusing.
McGahon wasn't fined, he was ordered to pay his victim money, for an assault, which he lied to the Garda about but wasn't criminally convicted, so it's okay Harris backed him 🤣
Like with Crotty's glowing reference from the Army, Harris did same for McGahon after the fact.
Ah here now,I'm just pointing out the elephants in the room you don't like being brought up
They're there
They can't be un there'ed
Never said I didn't like it, I said it wasn't relevant. Certainly not important enough to be 'the elephant in the room'.
They've absolutely no relevance to Harris backing someone who assaulted and lied to Garda.
Don't forget Harris is happy too because McGahan promised not to do it again, maybe he gave Harris a box of Twix
It reeks of hypocrisy, some one in The Dail should call Harris out on it
FF propoing 24/7 District Courts. Has to up there with the strangest suggestion I've seen in a long time. What's the rational behind it?
