Will this be "Independence Day" from the Tories?
I guess there'll be a bit of a scramble for any safe seats when they come available. After last night, there's lots of people who may consider themselves to be ahead of JRM due to long Cabinet service.
There may not be many obvious safe seats anyway - especially if Reform are sticking around.
Yvette Cooper the new UK Home Secretary.
And?
Trump send his congratulations.
This is it
If the Conservatives were to somehow rebuild themselves into something that is electable by the end of the decade, the likes of JRM are not going to be the sort of people they'll want back.
on its own it looks interesting - but were there any widespread constituency changes in the meantime? or should that be taken at face value?
They do use them. Their abstentionist stance is why they get votes.
When the news came through that George Galloway was gone, I happened to be watching Neil Kinnock on one of the Channels. Kinnock celebrated the news like Wales had won the Rugby World Cup. Presenter said to him that GG was a colleague of yours caused response that he was never a colleague.
What's the story with the last undeclared seat?

.
I feel.sorry for Rishi Sunak, he's a good man. Might be the best leader the conservatives have ever had.
The party was destroyed by Boris Johnson.
Anyway Labour will make a mess of it and be out in five years.
Churchill beat Atleee by winning more seats in 1951 despite losing the popular vote by around 200K FPTP is all about targeting seats. A similar scenario happened in 1970 Wilson vs Heath.
Clinton won the popular vote vs Trump but it’s about electoral college delegates voting in the USA
Might be the best leader the conservatives have ever had.
He didn't do a single thing that could be considered as displaying good leadership qualities. Not one. Best they ever had? Sarcasm surely.
The place is a mess, that's what Labour have, the media will hold the responsible and will put on the rose tinted glasses to absolve the Tories, anyone with a brain in their head who has had their eyes and ears open the last 14 years, 8 in particular knows exactly what has happened.
….
How?
The Tories have left the place in such a sorry state that it will beany, many years before it's in any way a fit country to live in. Brexit will properly bankrupt the country, and yes, Labour Party will be blamed for it when they have no choice but to put in harsh budgets (again). And the Tories will get away with it (again).
Just like we are with FF/FG
Yes it's a sad state of affairs in both countries where both major parties are bad. SF are as big as them now but if anything they are worse.
There have been over 20 Tory PMs and you honestly believe Sunak been the best Tory leader ever? Ok.
I said might be, he needs a lot more time to prove it.
How are Labour bad?
No, no, no.
This is what Tories want you think. It's what they need you to think.
They get in, trash the place so bad that by the time Labour cleans it up a little, after years of hard work and cuts, the Tories come back in under a, "Oh, but we had good times" or, "Labour will just make you pay more for stuff".
And everyone seems to forget the mess they leave behind after them. Every. Single. Time.
It's like an abusive relationship. Especially when poorer areas vote Tory. I can never understand that one.
You may have missed this.

A good man? What?
Best Tory leader? What?
That's just wrong on so many counts.
Well that's terrible, he's the one I thought could revamp the party. They'll probably pick another idiot now.
...
Labour are just like them. The name of the party is fooling people, they are right of centre.
He was appointed the captain of a sinking shop. Little he could do at that stage.
Johnson and Truss killed the Tories.
He fcuked up a few times himself. Remember that "lets all go to a restaurant" thing during Covid?
That was one of many WTF? moments for Sunak.
Based on what?
They're not just like them though.
There's nowhere near as many self serving idiots, imbeciles and otherwise plain evil people in the Labour Party.
Boris Johnson - self serving
Liz Truss - idiot
Pritti Patel - evil
Suella Braverman - evil
Nadine Dorries - imbecile
Michael Fabricant - moron
Andrea Ledsom - rude idiot
Matt Hancock - self serving moron
Mark Francois - idiot
David Davis - idiot
Etc, etc, etc.
I don't know all 400+ Labour MP's, but I would think it's safe to say none have the same level of stupidity as the above.
Look through history this century.
Well let's wait and see.
