They have not, it's not even that close.
We as Irish people certainly can't blame the US when we won't send lethal aid ourselves. We can't criticise anyone really, except those countries who have actively helped Russia.
As time goes on it strikes me that we got a taste for opting out after WWII. Britain sends the RAF and its navy to ward the Russians off of Ireland, we leave them at it, it's a bit of a disgrance.
I thought it was the Irish specialty, hypocritically criticising everything.
I've heard zero confirmation on this for last night. Lots of arguing, but nothing definite.
There should be peace, its the dog not barking, nothing conspiracy about it. assuming players have motives isnt conspiracy, its just pointing out bad diplomacy
Are you willing to admit that Russia's motive is to annihilate the idea of Ukraine as a sovereign country? And they are committing genocide in their quest to do that? Until you admit those, your fake peace wishes will be treated as the joke they are.
You can spot from miles away the pro Russian/old Marxists/anti American/"just asking questions" while getting answers from Kremlin spin types. They pretty much never answer direct questions that they can't slither out of, they wheel out the exact same talking points, reference the exact same pro Kremlin talking heads and even use similar phrases said talking heads use.
Though it's not as obvious as a "waif in their underwear" a good and long standing example is along the lines of "Time will tell/let's wait and see". That got wheeled out soon after Russian forces got kicked back from Kiev and the north and used normally as a way to deflect from both their obvious failures and knotty questions. If you read "time will tell" you can pretty much guarantee the flavour of Kool Aid they've been drinking.
'Bad diplomacy' would be mistaking peace for surrender.
You're unwilling to even admit Russia is committing genocide. Allowing Russia to continue to occupy any portion of Ukraine puts those who aren't viewed as Russian enough in danger. It puts their children in danger of kidnapping to be "Russified" but you won't discuss these aspects of why continued occupation in any guise couldn't be considered to be peace.
You're a disingenuous poster if you won't talk about what the peace you envisage would resemble.

The language and choice of words here. As someone with an interest in history this reminds me of those individuals during WW2 who advocated for peace with Hitler. There's an almost child-like innocence to it. Fairy-tale notions that rewarding him with land and appeasement would lead to peace

The frequency and insistence of these "peace" proponents lately does give me some hope that the Kremlin are running a bit scared at the moment.
I suspected this would start happening more if we got to a time where the Russians felt that they had gotten to a point where they might not be able to gain any futher signifigant objectives and are hoping to hold onto what they have. We might be there now, or this might just be them trying to buy time until they hope for Trump's brand Nazism to take control of the US and become their ally. Part of me suspects that the Kharkiv offensive was also an attempt to buy time. Naturally capturing the city was also likely a goal, but staying any attempted Ukrainian counter-offensive with their new kit might be high on the Russian priority list.
Ukraine still have a hard fight ahead, and the goal currently should be to outlast the Russians, but the frequency of "peace" messaging from Putin's fan-club gives me some hope.
And what else could you expect from Putins Mafia? The truth??? You will be waiting a very long time. And Russians, whether they believe it or not, are currently unable to do much about it. But there is widespread disillusion creeping in amongst Russians regarding Putin and his SMO. When you put rising taxes and increased working hours without extra pay into the pot, it does not take long to reach the boiling point.
Militarily, the US have left Europe standing.
What they promise is quickly delivered, a lot of what many in Europe promise is always on the long finger.
Things have improved in the last 6 months, no doubt.
It was however America, Britain, a few in eastern Europe that kept Ukraine going.
Problem now is that western Europe is basically bereft of weaponry. Germany planning to have a 1000 field guns by 2035 and that's part of a rearmament campaign. That wouldn't last months in a war.
If China acts up, or some loopers in the middle east they'll only have America alone to face because Europe has thrown in the towel in defense and Ukraine must be worried at the soft belly behind to it's west.
It's enemies have not.

This is not true either.
A huge amount of the early military aid was ex-Warsaw Pact military material that the Ukrainian forces could make quick use of. Even today there are more tanks, air defence etc coming from Europe than the US.
No one has been above reproach and everyone has delayed and prevaricated at times (general exception for Poland and the Baltics there). It's not a competition anyway.
Perhaps there is more than his own demise at play? Chechnia could be more of a House of Cards than a Game of Thrones. Things could go to hell quickly if the Kremlin's grip weakens further. (And their grip was tentitive there to begin with)

You'd still have to wonder though. Since both sides are as bad as each other and we just need peace why is it the ICC is only issuing arrest warrants for Russian high command? 🤔Very interesting.

I want to see ISIS, in their millions, flooding through Chechnya and heading for Moscow.
1000 field guns is quite a lot - it's possible to fight a war while caring about losses, unlike what we've seen the Russian army doing.
and meanwhile I’m earlier watching live championship league snooker on YouTube with a Ukrainian lad Kazakov competing. He’s 19 going on 20. Could he not be back home doing something to assist his homeland ? if not frontline combat, some support function….logistics / transport etc ?
Similar with other sports people….multiples of Ukrainian tennis players playing in Wimbledon qualifiers…..
Strange to see Ukraine and Ukrainians after assistance for everything from everywhere and everyone else but don’t seem too bothered about some of their country folk off galavanting around Europe playing sports during a war.
A war where according to many sources there is already a chronic shortage of troops…
