Just found the above chart backing up what I have been saying for years.
Global warming is a wholly natural event, if humanity disappeared tonight, global warming would still happen.
Again I’ll call your reply into question- which party has the most objections at council level to housing?
That is because if you actually follow the science it is all doom. CLimate scientist are suffering PTSD due to the burden of information they have to carry. However bad you imagine it could be as a layman - they know it is worse. They attempt to project optimistic scenarios but they know we are not on course to achieve a single one of them. Young people understand this better than their parents - how do they cope - I dont know.
Its depressing because it's really that bad. How are you going to dress that pig up - a bit of makeup aint going to cut it.
It’s worse than that, we should sacrifice a lot here while majority of world who sneer at us in west continue business as usual
I said it higher up but begrudgery is something we do extremely well in this country, people do not want their standards of living fall especially as we are constantly nonbarded by cost of living crisis messages
And all the greens can come along and say, you need to be poorer so someone who more than likely hates you from the other side of globe can have 10 kids and send 8 of them to live here by the canal in tents
Young people will have a increasing tax burden since the 1990/00s demographic dividend swung to an increasing dependency ratio now.
Taxing them more while denying them affordable housing is causing resentment.
Yeah, if you believed nothing you heard and half of what you see then the Green cult really is a shallow begging scam.
Find a company actually willing to develop Irish gas - one actually has the resources to do it. They aren't lining up.
What happens is large gas concerns create little companies to get licenses and explore them, if they find viable reserves the license is sold onto the financing company otherwise the company folds having cost almost nothing. All of the interested parties are of the second category and none of the first.
So you're making up rubbish about taxes for young people to further the rest of your anti‐climate change nonsense 🙄
yeah sure, landsowne oil and gas for one:
https://m.independent.ie/business/irish/oil-firm-decries-environment-minister-eamon-ryan-for-rejecting-barryroe-gas-development/a951037564.html
I've never denied climate change. If you go back through my posts you'll see I've cited several times how humanity has adapted to climate change.
What I can't support is increasing the tax burden for notional and non specific outcomes. What exact climate settings are these taxes supposed to lock in?
It's all mostly waffle feel good non specifics from I've seen of the Green party in Ireland.
They can bitch all they like but they arent serious players and shouldn't be taken seriously.
why?
Carbon taxes are what pays for the energy efficiency grants everyone can apply for. They are designed to be revenue neutral.
As opposed to Serious players like the now extinct Green parties across Europe? 🤣
They are in the license flipping business - not the gas pumping business. Not been offered a license fairly much destroys their business model.
I have not much care for the green party, especially the irish. Since green transition is now the legally binding official policy of every European country they fairly much outlived their uesfulness.
”Serious players”
I have no problem with efficiencies, they're profitable.
The advances in gird storage battery tech over the last four years means that national grids could rely on renewables with having fossil generation resigned to emergency back up for grid integrity.
None of this though explains to young people why their housing needs are more expensive than previous generations.
They are a gas exploration company no? They were denied an exploration by Eamon Ryan no?
Grants drive up the prices that suppliers charge. That’s not rocket science. Consumer and tax payer ends up paying more.
Because the government set up a policy where developers were expected to do everything and they consistently decided that commercial property was more profitable. A lack off focused policy is why we have to few houses. This is a crisis which developed over the last 16years under successive FFG coalitions. They had time to solve it if they had the will to do so - but they chose not to.
Hang on a second. The greens are in government with FFG. They're entirely complicit in fleecing those struggling to afford to live in this country, and they want to extract more blood from younger generations for fluffy non specifics.
.. you asked why we had a crisis of housing availability. I answered so please don't try to shift the blame onto the greens input into the cluster **** of mismanagement.
When you ask a government chocked full of landlords, bankers and developers to solve a housing crisis don't be surprised if the only winners are bankers, landlords and developers.
We're all going to die of something. It's wild to choose global warming as the thing to worry about.
Well the FFG housing crisis of the current tenure is entirely propped up by the Greens. The Greens aren't in opposition.
It's a very jesuitical trait for Green cultist to believe they are above criticism.
Actually there have been global cooling and warming periods, that have affected mankind, due to various events over the last several thousand years. You should read up about "Doggerland" and it's ultimate fate due to a warming period about 6500 years ago.
Now Speaking of warming periods, yes humans are affecting the planet but the last 18 months, the Green party narrative is getting out of hand with claims of " X month has been the warmest X month in recorded history!!!" These claims are based on averages and all it takes is one day to be above average and the rest of them to be average to make that claim, but hey, nothing like a good sensationalist headline.
But getting away from that, there have been several things that have the effect of increasing the planets temperature lately, which are beyond humans control but are being ignored because it does not suit the Green Party narrative.
One is the solar cycle. Our sun is currently at Solar Maximum, the point at which the star is at it's most active, and its magnetic poles flip and the star is at its hottest. This particular solar cycle is one of the most active, if not the most active on record, the proof of which can be seen by the glorious northern lights that have been witnessed lately. Anyone else find it funny how it coincides with our hottest months on record.
Another is El Nino, the cyclic sea current which has a warming effect on the global climate, which has ɓeen active the last couple years or so.
Both these coincided over the last 12 months or so, but will start receeding once the sun's magnetic poles flip and it starts calming down going towards solar minimum, and El Nino disappears again to be replaced by La Nina, the sea current with a cooling effect on the global climate, with the only warming influence will be caused by humans, which is not as large as the Green Party narrative claims
But it begs the question, as the solar cycle enters a calm period and La Nina occurs, slowing global warming, will the Green Party try claiming some kind of a victory!!!
There’s a couple of them trying very hard across several threads to distance themselves from the Green Party who have imploded across Europe
Kinda reminds me of the people’s front of judea vs judean peoples front sketch
I might just have to start using “greenie” or “greenist” or “watermelon” as a label because isntead of discussing special policies and mistakes, they latch on definition of Green to deflect the debate
I explained that I am not a supporter of the Irish Green party so why claim I am defending them ?
The Irish Green party lost my support when they refused to consider a coalition with SF. They showed their true colours then and there. But that has nothing to do with the failure of the last two goverments (yes including the one that had no green members) to address the housing crisis.
You can't enjoy a good spell of weather now without some Green zealots screaming "proof", or suffer a miserable spell without the same nonsense. It's always the same, ignoring the science if it reduces their misery.
It reminds of that time Bono starting clapping his hands slowly while saying "every time I clap my hands a child in Africa dies", to which someone shouted "well stop clapping ya bollix!"
They are a tiresome doomsday cult. Edit to add a doomsday cult that see no hypocrisy in constantly moving the goalposts to suit their hysteria. Not surprising Sargent went to the cloth to preach after the defenestration of his political career.
That’s a very immature answer to that question tbh.
Its very immature to try to blame everything on the greens - but we see it here every day.
