|I see there is 400 jobs going nationwide for clerical officer in the Garda,
Just wondering does anyone have any idea what the pay is like or the hours

See warning on posting your actual number in post #306
Have you ever lived abroad? Wondering if that's why mine is taking so long. Or maybe there's just a build up of applications.
Nope - still waiting!
@hairyprincess I haven't even got called for an interview yet so might not get called at all yet I'm not sure 🫣 unsure as to how many jobs they are offering...
I'm a high number so might not get called at all was just wondering what number they had gotten too with interviews and job offers :) thanks
I was called to the first round of interviews for Sligo and was successful getting a job offer. They're still in the process of garda vetting, so unless some of the others who have been offered positions turn them down, they might not call for interviews again for a while. I don't know how many got called to interview the first time; all I know is that at least 5 jobs were offered after the first round of interviews.
for interview or job do you mean?
Anyone any updates on Sligo numbers been recently called? 😊
I'm 51 so I know I might not get called for ages but just wondering if anyone knows what number has been called recently.. Any help is appreciated 😊
Any luck? I'm still waiting, still getting the same generic reply from any enquiries. 14 weeks and counting...
Sorry my previous message is to ashbpm.
I'm in the same situation. I'd prefer to chat directly through private message though if that's OK. I'll send you a message.
there was no mention of flexi in the HSE CO job description either but it’s in place
yeah I know, just wanted to ask a few questions to someone working as a CO
If you're in the HSE CO role for a while, you'd be effectively restarting at the initial entry level.
I’m a CO with the hse at the minute and have gotten on really well with this competition. Will likely be offered in the coming weeks. I’m torn as to what to do - stay with the HSE or move?
9 or 10 weeks now.
How long have you been waiting? I'm past the 12 week stage now 😑
So a lot of people are still stuck in limbo with the vetting process? Says it cleared but it's been weeks and weeks now.
Only saw 1 or 2 here say it was about 4 weeks in total for them.
That's the best idea yet!! 💡
They need to hire us asap, so Garda vetting will be faster for everyone 😜
Ive been waiting 12 weeks, still haven't heard anything. Sent an email asking, they just sent a generic reply saying it's a complicated process and that they'd be in touch when they were ready with the next step.
..
has anyone in wexford heard anything?
didn't you work there before? It's the same pension as the rest of the civil service. Terms and conditions post Policing Act haven't been published yet but seeing as the pension is the single public service pension scheme I would presume it would still apply for new entrants post enactment of the bill
if you take the temporary, you can still be offered the permanent later on — you wont be taken off the permanent as they are different campaigns
sorry a further query, do they get the same pension as the civil servants, is there a change coming with the policing act thing
For those who have started this job, or are about to: how long did it take for Garda clearance (i.e. from you filling out the online form to you heading back and being asked for references)?
They said up to 12 weeks, but I heard from someone that theirs only took 4. I've been waiting 11 weeks, contacted them asking for an update but just got a generic answer saying it's a complicated process.
What happens to my candidacy for the permanent position if I take the temporary job, and vice versa? If I decline the temporary position, will I remain considered for permanent roles? If I accept the temporary position, will it remove me from the panel for permanent positions?
I got email today too, my OOM the same for a permanent position, and temporary is higher than it was after aptitude test, but no job offer either ;)
Interviewed for Clare same time, got a new OOM today sadly no Job offer
Thank you. I was reading previous comments here and someone mentioned it took more than 20 days to come back. I will send them an email and see 😉
Yes I think so. Disappointing that they wouldn’t get back to you.
