Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

I agree.
He became the public face of the shenanigans that were going on. He wasn't alone in it, but he is going to be associated with it forevermore.
Had he shown any regret, people might have been left with a marginally better impression of him.
I can't see him being back in RTE.
If only there had been some way he could have known, if only he could have had some inkling that his salary at RTE was all a big institutional smoke and mirrors and that such a thing was likely to happen if he went out on his own before blowing things at RTE and gambling it all on being accepted in the UK.
If only he had an agent advising him 😉 well

Tubs definitely a Communist too. Loves talking about equality and looking after the most vulnerable members of society but avoids associating with the hoi polloi and gets back handers and special treatment.

If he continues to hemmorage listeners they may solely put him to Q102, probably phase it in and then pull his slot off the UK schedule. Although this may actually suit Tubridy in the short-term in that he can return to Dublin and continue to inflict his unique style of broadcasting on a radio station for which his show is mostly targeted at an Irish audience anyway, limiting damage to the Virgin Radio brand. It will not help Q102 in the long-term as the radio station has a low market share to begin with and it's listeners will just simply change station from 10am to 1pm.

I think Noel is picking up ideas from this here thread, he’s almost throwing the towel in by veering into comedy.
Journalists are under a lot of pressure to fill pages. If a press release comes in written in the style of an article, they'll always at least consider running it to get the inches they need.
It wouldn't have been a submitted press release; it would have been a journo and a photographer from the Sun walking to the lift, taking it down one floor, and walking to the Q studio.
