I am Putin , what time line those losses occur over and when? Was it in the first seven days of may or what?
That's one day of losses.

Not a chance Finland will comply with Russia's new border arrangement.
We looking at a China / Philippines situation
Accidentally drop a few thousand sea mines out of the back of a destroyer across that straight
Does "claiming" another nations waters act the same as "claiming" their land? i.e. is this technically an invasion of a NATO country? Wondering if this has wider ramifications or are things less stringent with sea based claims
Mucking about with the naval border of a newly mintet NATO member doesn't seem like the sharpest idea for Putin to put forward. Might just be a symbolic statement to puff their chest out at the world and give the illusion of standing up to NATO.
Worth noting that Finnish consessions to the USSR after WWII gave the Russians a decent chunk of the Gulf of Finland, along with some islands. The Russians used to also have a couple of naval bases on the Finnish coast, but they were eventually returned to the Finns in the post-war era.
Not certain what part of the maritime border the Russians even want to mess with…perhaps they don't even know themselves.
apologies if this is a repost, but good high level look at the donations from countries to Ukraine.
I'll be getting a ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki in a couple of months, hope they've stopped fucking about by then!
If true we need to crush the Chinese economy or drop NATO forces into Western Ukraine
I'm afraid that Russians might never stop mucking about. They had a chance to cut that out in the 90's and join the rest of the civilised world, but then fell right back into their stupid ways and now we are here.
However, I expect your ferry trip between these NATO neighbours will go just fine.
Todays Russian newspapers are interesting, had a chuckle at a latest Russian car model … made in China
Yesterday's strike
They keyboard warriors from the Gaza thread will be along any minute now to condemn Russians who committed another Bucha grade atrocity it seems

Warning ^ above drone video of Vochansk showing multiple civilian bodies littering the streets after Russian offensive
the only that makes sense is if China wants the west distracted by a prolonged war in russia in order to invade Taiwan
Wouldn't be surprised if Harris decides to recognize the annexation by Russia.
Which is what is going on and across a wider front than just Ukraine.
Hard to say. Could be the case or might be China feeling a bit on anti Chinese feeling coming from the US government and western Europe. Also might be in their heads it's a way to use our weapons in a real world conflict against western weapons and see our results against them especially if they are thinking of invading Taiwan. They might think perfect way to perfect our weapons before we go to war?
China is the big enemy. The comrade in the Kremlin is a smaller one.
We could all start by stopping our online purchase of cheaper Made-in-China products. I won't hold my breath on that one though. More likely we'll just continue cribbing about repatriating Ukrainians. Because we really care about who wins this war…
That's never going to happen. After more than two years of this terrible war the west isn't even doing enough to help Ukraine in terms of enforcing sanctions never mind providing them with the equipment they need to win. Russia and China are just trolling us at this stage.
Be grand - Russia has feck all ships left anyway.
Good news if true
If the sole metric is GDP Ireland in real terms should be a lot further up that list than 29th.
Yes China has been providing various forms of support to Russia, including military, since the start of the war and mostly just gets gratitude from the West because apparently Xi convinced Putin to not use any kind of nuclear weapons and that was considered a big concession to the West.
After all, why would we want to jeopardize our most important trading partner over something like human rights and national sovereignty of Ukraine?
As for "crushing their economy": we can't even crush Russia's economy, let alone China, which is far more powerful.
Are the means there? Maybe. Is the will there? No.
Europe is still underspending on its militaries, this is on top of sending equipment and munitions to Ukraine. Poland is the exception, not surprising considering their proximity to Ukraine. Ukraines real problem is that they should have joined NATO during the collapse of the Soviet Union when they were not in a position to react. Like their neighbours did.
Why would China care about a country on the far side of the world?
How much did we care about the rights of Afghans and Iraqis during the 20 years the US and UK occupied their countries?
Sure Ireland only recognized Palestine today. Talk about too little too late. That country will be dust in a few months.
Meanwhile over in the Gaza thread ZZerosquared think's it's fine that one country can dictate another's foreign policy, and if they don't go along with you you can use the threat of refugees against them.. where have we heard that one before eh?
I don't tend to post in the Gaza thread but I think it's perfectly consistent to be horrified by the crimes carried out by Russia, Hamas and the IDF.
Totally agree, however @riffmongous seems incapable of such nuanced distinction and debate (especially for a moderator) and proceeded to call me RuZZian
FML 🤦♂️
The will is absolutely not there. It's heartbreaking too see the lack of support especially from Europe.
