Yes, there was already a braindead (imo) EU legal decision (to stress, not blaming the court here, I presume they are just following processes within their remit) on letting a couple of the personally sanctioned oligarchs off.
Sanctioned without enough evidence apparently.

It must all be set up quite thoroughly in each country where frozen assets get seized, so it is as watertight as can be.
It’s a start (that’s about how much Ukrainians spent on military on average per year between 2014 and 2022)
But the real issue is the EU dragging their feet on handing over whole 300bn that was seized and not just the yearly interest
And it’s not a just a legal issue as you think, if Russians try to drag stuff into courts tell em to **** off until Putin is handed over to The Hague, both UK and US also have laws in place now.
Notice how Germany was dragging feet on the issue until last week when Russians seized few hundred million from their banks that operated there like the infamous money laundering hole that is Deushebag Bank, and this week suddenly according Bloomberg they all pro seizure of Russian assets
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-05-21/germany-warms-to-us-plan-to-tap-frozen-russian-assets-for-ukraine-funds
You're comparison with Russia seizing private companies assets within Russia and the EU (as a block) seizing Russian sovereign assets is non comparable. Governments seize private individual and company assets all the time. This is a different ballgame.
I cannot imagine the EU courts playing politics on points of law (handing Putin over to the Hague etc…) Need to be a little realistic as you know how slow the EU can move wrt laws.
How much have the US & UK handed over to Ukraine from the seized Russian assets so far?
Yep that's another singular difference between Russia and European states/EU; the latter have an independent judiciary. Long may that continue.
😎👍️
Yep they're going to surround Berlin with 5000 Chinese golf carts and demand surrender. lol.
There’s precedent set in international law with seizure of Iraqs 53 billion (in early 1990s dollars) and redistribution to parties injured by the war he started, I even linked to not one but two long podcasts on the subject earlier in thread.
If this goes to court it won’t take long to show that Russia broke international laws
The EU are dragging feet on the subject needlessly inventing excuses while people continue to die
It was same during the euro crisis one excuse after another was needlessly wheeled out and all shown to be a load of shite until ECB stepped in and put an end to the circus and the crisis
And again, you said the US and UK already have laws in place, so how much have they given Ukraine from the seized Russian assets?
The US is currently saying they (the G7) could give loans to Ukraine based on the seized Russian assets being used as collateral.
Doesn't seem like it's that straightforward for the US and UK to just give Ukraine the cash, does it?
At least the EU have been given Ukraine interest earned on the seized assets in the interim.
I don’t know what they given up to now but there has been well publicised seizures at start of war
The US administration started pushing for loans secured against these assets after hitting refusal after refusal from European countries as a way of getting any help to Ukraine faster, with this week Germany finally stopping objecting after Russia went after their companies
The US administration can put its foot on the Belgian necks and euroclear overnight and make them hand over these seized 300bn, or threaten to cut off euroclear from dollar clearing but of course the Biden administration has chosen to approach this in a polite and diplomatic manner as doing above would plunge Europe into a crisis
You keep trying to paint EU and main European G7 countries as somehow being the good guys in this story but this very much is plan B after plan A for 100x the amount failed repeatedly, yes it’s better than nothing but 300bn would be enough to pay for 5-6 years of this war and really make it clear to Putin that he will lose
The US seized about $5 billion from Russia at the start and has handed zero of that over to Ukraine.
The UK seized about $26 billion from Russia at the start and has handed zero over to Ukraine.
Both countries as you state have laws on the books already to hand over seized assets to a third party, but haven't bothered.
But that's all the EU's fault right?

Possible Russians sabotage operatives at work in Poland
A massive Ukrainian counter attack imminent? This guy is smoking something strong
Yes, the one rule for Russia another for Ukraine is an absolute disgrace when the US and all European countries are perfectly happy to let Israel for example use their weapons to strike anyone anywhere, regardless of how many innocent people die as a result.
Ukraine should be let off the leash, it's the only language the Russians understand

That’s a town they claimed to have captured
Some bad news
Russians getting greedy again
Good luck to Putin enforcing his “claims”
Ukraine adapting their sea drones to fire (looks to be unguided) rockets.
There was another naval drone spotted with an AA missile a few weeks back. That would be one way to wreak havoc in the black sea behind the lines.
Completely unsustainable losses of equipment
The visually verified daily lists are interesting, yes that’s several Lada’s there and golf carts as there are more and more videos of Russians attacking in these and being shredded
I doubt the Russians are willing choosing these vehicles for their attack runs so looks like the country with “endless” armor is scraping the barrel
It's a fraction of a % of Ukraine. Russia is applauding losing tens of thousands to capture small villages.
None of these seem to have a strategic importance in the larger scale invasion of Ukraine, just a few hundred meters here and there, with hundreds of bodies to show for it.
russia buying kero etc
This assertion is supported by local reports, that Belarusian oil refineries have seen a surge in the production of aviation jet fuel which is being supplied to Russia on rail shipments.
According to the CNR, fighters from the Wagner private military company along with a Russian Interior Ministry security battalion have been engaged to provide security for the consignments.
a look at the war
An iron fist in an iron glove. It's the only conceivable response in this case and it's the only language that the Vatniks understand.
Russians singing : Everywhere we go. Everywhere we go. People always ask us. People always ask us. Who we are. Who we are. What do we tell them? What do we tell them? Mighty mighty russia. Mighty mighty russia. What do we do? What do we do? Shoot civilians in occupied areas. Shoot civilians in occupied areas. Why do we do this? Why do we do this? Because we can and there's nothing to stop us. Because we can and there's nothing to stop us.
Probably.
Russia burning
So, what does this mean, all the waters around St Petersburg is exclusively for Russian use?
Or that exclusivity zone stretches towards Helsinki and Tallinn?
