Extreme steps to shoot down a drone

Tis a bad time to be an under equipped and untrained imperial storm trooper
I can imagine the blockheads to get over zealous with this and grab people who were more help to the war effort as a support-industry civilian than a mobile AFU bullet receptical. Especially if they are mostly targeting lads from the ‘Stans. Knowing them they might end up turning some expert tank-refitters into mobniks, and then start wondering why their flow of renovated cold-war armor is taking longer to fix.

Another oil refinery hit. Seems to be a near daily basis that a refinery or depot is hit.
On battlegrounds Ukraine podcast
They mentioned the force attacking Kharkiv is only 3000 strong, maybe the 30,000 we heard is for everyone including rear support?
On a Bloomberg podcast a commodities trader made a point that attacking oil refiners directly hurts the war effort but if Ukrainians really wanted to cripple Russia then the pipeline pumping stations and the small 2-3 LNG facilities built by westerners would cripple their economy, one can assume Biden asked to hold of attacking these until after the elections
The Chinese are refusing to get into any projects including turning down power of Siberia project and don’t have the equipment to repair these facilities either
Just STOP (Russian) oil!
Without it, they'll struggle to execute their inane invasion.
Ukraine seem to be able to hit refineries with such ease. I'm delighted they seem to have perfected their long range drones.
Somebody will have to start tracking how many refineries they have left! Or some clever social media tactics to get Russians to start a run on petrol stations!

(NSFW) Why does a country with “endless tanks and vehicles” be sending its soldiers on attacks using golf buggies?
Edit: and why does a country with “endless” man power need to do this
Another ship?

It worked, though. Plus the amount of fire coming at it indicates that the Russians were far from asleep at the job, at least on this occasion.
The man is convinced he is head of a new Nazi german, ruzzian army.
You'd wonder how ordinary Russians are not sharpening their knives to get rid of doddery Putin.
The madness of King George. Very surreal.
Oh it worked no doubt, but are you not hitting the buildings on the far shore with AA fire?
To be fair Russians would know better than to stand near balconies and windows 🤓
Anyways back to news, the looting continues
And another ship.

Looking at the tracers they probably killed more people in the city than the drone ever would. It was like a scene from Team America.
Why does it not occur to them to just bugher off back home?Safer and less of the universal opprobrium
Unless they are perhaps in the grip of some kind of social madness with a dwarf monster straddling their neck and forcing them to swallow his faeces?
Have they come too far?
Even the Grand Old Duke of York was not beyond marching his troops back down again.
Steve in Moscow reporting:
Another ship sunk.
If "Cyclone" is the name of the ship, and if we get further confirmation of the sinking, then that was a very short career, as well as a painful loss. Cyclone, or Tsiklon in Russia, was only commissioned into the Russian Navy in July 2023, and was the only ship of her class operational in the Black Sea. More crucially, as a Karakurt-class guided missile corvette, she was a launch platform for cruise missiles, so her loss should actually reduce Russia's cruise missile capabilities considerably.
It's not all good news though, as there are theoretically three other ships of the class in the Black Sea theatre. all three were supposed to enter service in 2024, but one of them, Askold, apparently took a Ukrainian cruise missile hit back in November 2023, so it's questionable if or when she'll be able to enter service. The other two ships, Amur and Tucha, were apparently launched but haven't started sea trials yet.
A significant sinkage in that case hopefully a similar fate awaits the other ships in its class.
Maybe Ireland could provide alcohol for the Russian troops?
I do wonder would Ukraine have incidents like this at a much reduced rate. I mean Ukraine and Russia are right beside one another so I reckon drink is a problem in both armed forces and I know Russia has been having issues with some prisoners recruited from their prisons, I do wonder will Ukraine has some issues with their own recruitment from their own prisons. (maybe more violent offenders recruited from Russian prisons).
You mean promotion to Submarine right?
Cannot find the article right now, but there is a suggestion that Ukraine has revealed a secret with the latest missile strikes on ships. The missiles are now carrying a much bigger payload.
If it was ATACMS at that range it was either the cluster version (pointless to use against a ship) or a single warhead. It's not that the missile was carrying a higher than standard payload, it's just the fact it's a standard ATACMS (non cluster one) not much of a secret really and the only way Ukraine could keep that secret was to never use them.
Another plane shot down
I see UK are sending much more anti air missiles too as this seems to be a critical issue at moment, also France too
This?
Well how much do we know about WW2? 1% I suppose. We will never know the details of any war.
Considering the law to conscript from Ukranian prisons was only signed a week ago or so
One can safely say that up to now there was exactly zero of these type of events on Ukranian side
But nice attempt at “both sides” -ing
I see Russia is confused and frustrated that the country it's attacking with glide-bombs, is attacking it back with glide bombs
Not a big fan of Arthur Harris but his quote is apt - "The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them"
