Please use this thread to continue discussing the war in Ukraine.
All mod instructions from the previous thread remain in force here
Original thread:
Well they didn’t even reach the first line of defence
Is the original thread gone haywire for anyone else? Can see new posts have been added but when I click it brings me to stuff from a week ago and tells me hat there's no more
Gremlins no doubt, hence the new thread to clear the decks I suppose.
It's not just you. It seems to be an issue in general and is also not limited to the Russia Thread. There are a few threads in After Hours that are equally affected, as is the Donald Trump thread here in CA. The Helpdesk is full of posts about it.
Another russian mole dug up
There is an issue with the original thread, posts were being accepted (until I closed it this afternoon) but were not displaying. The last visible post was from May 9th.
There is a helpdesk thread on it, please discuss the issues there and leave this thread for just Russia/Ukraine content, cheers
Ugh, that guy. AfD MPs are walking laxatives at the best of times, but Bystron is one of the worst. I am not surprised at all at this development.
First page of a new thread. No harm in having a reminder of why Ukraine was invaded.
Somehow he forgot to mention Nazis, NATO, Biolabs, protection of Russian speakers etc. so I'm sure he'll get a nice window view from his next visit to a non-ground floor room.
Rapacious parasites. Blatant, too.
They'll turn that Kharkiv assault into a kill box
Oh look Elon was helping out his boss
If I were at the Pentagon I be asking all sorts of uncomfortable questions from starlink sales reps about now
Meanwhile in Germany
Elon has turned out to be a strange man. I think money has gone to his head in a big way. If he was a politician he could well be the same as Putin-or worse! a person can never tell.
As for the Russian invasion of the North flank of Ukraine, it does appear as though it has run out of steam. Putin is going from one disastrous plan to another.
I have proof that Putin definitely intends to take Kharkiv 😎

Worth the read - X thread - good insights
UNROLLED:
More Putinisms
Was listening to a discussion on James o Brien this morning . They were saying that things are really bad for Ukraine as the Russians have massive ammounts of armaments to unleash. and if Trump gets in game over as Europe is too divided to be able to defend Ukraine. All in all it made for a a depressing situation going forward. and then you have China eyeing up Twaiwan.
FFS new thread only opened and here we go again 🤣
Elon is a welfare Queen, the US government is keeping him afloat. And looks like he is doing russias bidding.
Airport on fire in Russia

….
Why is this joker in Germany and not in "Beautiful russia"? Along with every other wretched, ungrateful, arrogant Vatnik, it's high time they were all fumigated out of Europe.
The guy enquiring about the flag seems to be German and not too concerned. WTF? 😮
Good my suggestion months ago of renaming the thread was taken onboard.
Was sick of that Russia thread title.
I feel this is key to everything. Sure, Ukraine should be trying to retake the territories the Russians are sitting on. But I suspect the key to Ukrainian victory is out-lasting the Russian war effort. Russia has one ace in their hand in this conflict, and by that I don’t mean their nukes (which frankly I still believe are more rust now than useful weaponry). Their ace is the Soviet Union and their preparations of a Europe-wide WWIII. Putin’s Russia has inherited an arsenal that was supposed to go up against NATO on multiple fronts and have been using it all against one target. Trouble is, that kit should have been used by the 80’s, and is finite. Much of it came from a Soviet Union which had the benefit of a large industrial base, much of it happened to be in….well….Ukriane. So now the Russian Federation is doing its level best to beat the clock and hope to force the Ukrainians into some kind of “Peace” “Treaty” before they run out of useful kit.
This point might come this year, it might come in 5 years, but it will come eventually and Russia and their cheerleaders will do their damnedest between now and then to prop up the fiction that Russia can’t be beaten and that concessions to them are the only open. But that isn’t true, Russia can be defeated and their greatest foe is time.
Those are good questions, along with
Where is security? You would think letting people fly drones near such an important building get you arrested and deported promptly
A grenade would weigh less than that flag and can be delivered thru a window like recent drone videos…
In the old thread I posted links to the Institute for the Study of War .. as well worth dipping into daily.
This was yesterdays:
Some snippets:
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphatically downplayed the threat of Ukrainian counterattacks along the entire frontline, further indicating that he assesses that Ukraine cannot and will not be able to liberate territory seized by Russian forces and that this will allow Russian forces to pursue creeping advances indefinitely.
Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to publicly prioritize the further mobilization of the Russian defense industrial base (DIB) while also attempting to assuage possible domestic fears about the negative effects of increased Russian defense spending.

Here is todays appraisal from the Institute for the Study of War
Russian President Vladimir Putin likely views Russia's relationship with the People's Republic of China (PRC) as decisive to his effort to further mobilize the Russian economy and defense industry to support a protracted war in Ukraine.
Putin also used his meeting with Xi to promote known Kremlin narratives feigning interest in peace negotiations and a diplomatic resolution to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Russian forces are reportedly able to conduct fixed-wing drone reconnaissance deep in the Ukrainian rear due to Ukraine's lack of air defense interceptors.
A Russian insider source, who has previously accurately reported on Russian military command changes, claimed that senior Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) officials are vying for the position of Chief of the General Staff.

Putin and his sanitary zone .. he has been on about this for a while .. Potentially a DMZ
James who?……..and who is they?
If they 'have massive amounts of armaments to unleash', then why was Sergei shown the door for an economist?
And for all the talk of China, Putin has become Xi's bitch and the world sees and knows it.
Another thing for the Russian invaders to worry about
The world did see it.
