Alot of rain here the last 24 hours. Plenty farmers put the cows in last night. The lovely soft 1400 covers were not much good to them last night. Lucky I had a strong field that I had closed for bales, they are content in that and I can bale it next time. Although the way they are eating it id say they could clean it good enough. Allocating 16 to 18 kg my hole.…
I’d top it and fook the begrudges ….topped 3 here in last week …cleaned out well enough but few tuffs and wirey bits after spring
I think we may have misunderstood each other. We searched and searched for the calf. I personally think the calf is inside her and mummified but my own father thinks the calf somehow escaped in the middle of the night 😂😂 so I wanted to see what everyone else thought was most likely
Ya if you can afford to it's the job. silage ground is for just that making enough silage ...... grazing ground is for having enough for the cows to eat as much as possible. Keeping grass right is always a struggle but especially this year had a couple of paddocks I should have topped but I think it would have left me short they'll get a shaving next time
Poured all day here yesterday, more like November. Rehoused maidens and calves last night, cows should have gone in but no silage for them. Hard to imagine there was dust a few days ago.
But why dont you still check her. Put on an AI glove and put your hand up her passage. If there is a calf or a mummified foetos in her it will be down on the right side just at arms reach. We would do this here to check for pregnancy in suspect cows. If you are not confident yourself the AI man could do it for you. Has she come into heat since.
33ml Sunday night and 33 yesterday here in West Cork.
Remember ff, fg and the greens when you vote the 7th of June. How they stab you in the back every chance they get

1% is less than margin of error in any research trials so ammonia emissions might not have reduced at all despite the hype around urea and LESS:

Jesus wept!!
The same government that immediately whipped out the chèque book at the first sign of a fodder ‘crisis’…even though only a handful were in need of ‘aid’??
A good dose of shinners might be just what’s needed to show how pampered ye actually are.
Error analysés are never linear. They’re a function of metrics and the instruments that measure those variables. Disingenuous to claim otherwise.
Says the man who immigrated
Ouch
👍👍😄😄
Same here were in lovely soft covers all last week, ran through them and milk fell off a cliff
low cost grass based system simple isn’t it 🙄🙄
It is simple. it's just the farmers are thick apparently
😎🫣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Simple on paper which is where the experts farm 😂
Ha ye dead easy apparently..went into stuff I should be baling of course and milk rose again too..hard to figure it all out.. in fairness the bit of sun and heat helped too.
Farming simulator I'd say, the pencil and paper wouldn't be environmentally friendly, sustainability and all that like.
Shinners had plenty of momentum behind them but the far right are tackling them now aswell. Be interesting to see how they do in upcoming elections. Lots of independent/ireland first kinda people running will take alot of their votes. Maybe alot of what independents say is right but most of them are also stone mad which means ultimately they'll get less done than the current shower.
Is there many independent candidates in elections in France?
What's le pens agricultural policy?
Fcukin emigrants eh!
Nothing personal against you but this thread has been difficult to read of late. Posters show more entitlement than a bunch of institutionalized teachers. Government largesse is greeted with derision and abuse which has more than a bang of L’Oreal off it…?
Shinners have probably hurt their popularity by trying to be more mainstream? Emigration seems to have favored the more right-wing delegates?
French government is decentralized, so thankfully we don’t get morons like the Kerry lads that roar about road repair..whilst their company gets those gov contracts. In the Paris assembly matters of state are debated and nothing about potholes or matters affecting the parish.
Melenchon, communist, wanted to seize the wheat from farmers to trade for oil with Algeria. Nuff said. Le Pen hasn’t any agricultural policy. Policy is left to Brussels. Same for all parties. They just enforce the Brussels diktats. Let’s face it..they’re right, Brussels call the shots. The amount of greens in power does have an impact on agriculture, but for all the wrong reasons. When your industry is 1% of GDP you quickly realize how minuscule you are in the bigger scheme of things. In 2022 we got a 500yr record drought, and government declared they would support farmers in their time of need..I got the princely sum of 8 cents per acre as ‘aid’ to help me through the crisis.
Your right about Brussells calling the shots, our ministers are all playing ball to line up jobs In Europe. Farming is becoming irrelevant, and i believe as dairy farmers start to retire etc, there will be a bigger push back against us due to lack of numbers and willingness to fight back.
Well if you are calling the healy rae s morons, there isn't much point in saying any more
In fairness they're more pr1cks than morons.
Probably a more accurate description alright.
To be fair to them I’d have them up there as 2 of the most intelligent men in the country. The amount of money they’re earning from the public purse through all of their various businesses is astronomical and they’re still able to come across as the hard done by small business owner. To pull that off takes serious intelligence!
harsh… had a chat with Michael healy rae last Friday… he was at a shop near killarney.. he had the boot of car open and wellingtons in it… the day was roasting and he had his shirt and tie on.. i made a joke about the wellies looking a bit out of place… as usual he was mad for chat… say what ye like about them they will do what they can to help you…
Jackie had the political brain, those that came after him are just little thugs who will never go into government. Turkeys voting for Christmas
