No he told an individual poster to buy what he/she wants which is certainly a step in the right direction.
Speaking of strawmen 🤣
This:
It must be exhausting spending so much time trying to persuade people to buy something they don't want.
He literally (in the literal meaning of the word) told people to buy what they want. The strawman is pretending he said the opposite and trying to argue that.
oh I thought this was a public forum?
Where is the strawman?
And yet Im continuously reading negative views expressed about PHEV/Hybrid on here. Nothing wrong with that btw, people are entitled to their opinions
Mod Note: Stick to discussion of 2024 EV sales, no need for another thread arguing about loaded terms
you know this is the EV & Hybrid section, right? You don't want one, thats lovely, I'm fairly sure no one gives a toss. Have you so little going on in life that this is what gives you some measure of enjoyment?
Can you explain what "woke" has to do with my comment?
"...alertness to racial prejudice and discrimination.."
Can you quote the post says it's shocking to drive a diesel and theres an EV for everyone (whatever that means).
you know this is the EV & Hybrid section, right?
The counter argument to that is the same posters keep going on about how it’s shocking people still drive diesel and that there’s an EV for everyone- which there isn’t. So it’s fair enough for people to retort those posters claims as false.
The woke EV illuminati strike again!
My post you quoted literally tells people to buy what they want.
Not entirely sure why you'd post a straw man in response.
It must be exhausting spending so much time trying to persuade people to buy something they don't want. I admire your resilence
Its in the owners handbook for EVs. Not suitable for visiting Grannies. There's also a similar warning on the Granny charger.
Not entirely sure why the sales figures don't break down sales by cars used (or able) to visit Grannies.
More FUD.
Sure I do that going to visit my granny once a week. You dont have to be having to do it every day for it to be an issue.
and apparently Ashford Motors still couldn’t sell any
In other news
Personally I'm not buying a diesel until it has 5k of range and I can fill it without stopping, costs 1K and only appreciates.
That’s your job, we can see right through you 😁
You've literally just been agreeing with this post... "...field engineers , sales people etc will do that daily…"
If someone want a repmobile with a 1000+ range, for €2K go buy one. Who cares why or for how much.
I think the point some people try to make is that it doesn't have to be everyday. Even if its a reasonably regular longer commute/journey some people want a longer range EV before willing to make the move. That's OK too. All in good time
you forgot to say something about FUD.
If you don't want an EV fine, don't buy one.
But for the love of mike can you stop spamming every EV thread about why you want to do 700+ with F1 style pit stops.
Maybe the mods could create a sticky thread ("Why I'm not buying an EV") where all these posts could go. Because the same posters have repeated the same thing, same argument about 20 times across many threads at this point.
Just because you don’t , doesn’t mean others don’t. I certainly did as do many others who move between pharma manufacturers and others.
It wouldn't be a car, it would be a van.
when I was on the road. I’d do Cork one day, Galway the next, limerick , Belfast the next and so on. Most them are mostly motorway all the way
So what cars does the company supply to the 'field engineers'? For the sake of a couple of public charges on the days longer journeys are covered, it would seem to be a waste of money if anything beyond a Ioniq 28kwh is provided. Id imagine the 'field engineers' might throw a few hissy fits on hearing that suggestion. Again, needs versus wants.
I know it seems quite inexplicable to some but the inconvenient truth is that some people want longer range cars and no amount of brow beating and admonishment will change that in the short term.
The vast majority of "field engineers" and "sales people" won't. Occasionally they might, but the almost none will be crossing the country every day.
I'm part of a team of field engineers, and there's about 3 days a month I or others on the team would do 400km in a day. The vast majority of days are less than 100km.
Our sales teams certainly aren't doing those type of distances too regularly either, especially in this era of video calls.
