It will be a walk in the park for Chandler. No doubt about it.
If the McGregor of the 2nd Poirier fight shows up, it'll be an easy night for Chandler. If McGregor of the 3rd shows up, it could go either way.
I'd imagine Chandler will target the leg and McGregor will anticipate this and plan accordingly (unless he's lost all common sense). Whoever wins this aspect wins the fight IMO.
Mad that this was a week ago and I'm only finding out now, any of his other fights I'd have known as soon as it was announced.
Chandler has lost 3/5 in the UFC. Hes small and hittable. A Chad Mendes type fighter. Conor can get to him easily and will look enormous at 170.
Its as good a fight as McGregor couldve asked for.
In fairness, and I'm aware this isn't news, those fights Chandler has lost have all been to elite, active lightweights. McGregor is neither of those any more.
It'll be almost 2 years since Chandler last fought though. He'll be 38.
True. I know it's a long shot, but I think he may just have been living a little bit more of a spartan existence then McGregor during his own time away.
He lost to Dustin who beat Conor along with Justin and Charles. Those 2 men would finish Conor in round 1.
I wouldn't read to much into Chandlers lack of activity , dude is a beast and will be in top shape .
For all the lads thinking Chandler takes this easily. You'll be glad to hear the bookies don't agree and have this as a 50/50 fight. Even money on a sure thing, apparently.
The smart thing to do and what I will be doing is waiting until the day of the fight to lump on Chandler. All the Irish money will come for Conor after the press conferences and build up.
I wouldn't be putting my cash anywhere near this fight. Both shot. McG for obvious reasons and Chandler has lost 3 of his last 4 and will be 38.
In his prime Conor would take Chandler apart see Mendes & Eddie fights
Conor is miles away from that so i expect him to get knocked out , Once he get hurt he won't recover and panic ,
Completely agree with the bookies, honestly think its a very even matchup
What is this "Irish money" you speak of? I'm sure there will be lads the pubs all over backing Conor. But no amount of 20s in Irish pubs is moving the needle on a global sports betting market.
If both are shot, then does it still boils down to a 50/50 fight?
I haven't seen enough from either recently to really have an opinion. But I do think it's far closer that posters have suggested here. Extreme views that the that alter massively by the actual result.
The prices are mental money for this, saw they might be expecting to break the gate receipts record.
I think Chandler is perfect opponent for McGregor but think McGregor is done at the top level.
The only reason I think its 60-40 in Chandlers favour is you know he is always in shape but again he's 38 now.
Surely should have had a tune-up fight.
I saw helwani comparing a victory over Conor as the same as winning a belt, what kind of ridiculous statement is that.
real 50/50. Conor early or Chandler bit later. If Chandler gets to rd 3, and the fight is pacy, I reckon Conor implodes. He was never designed for proper-intense 25 minutes fighting. is it a 5 rounds fight?
Yep. Seems odd for a fighter whos been off for 3 years.
Interesting fight though. As unlikely as it seems Id love to see a good McGegor run at 155. Oliveira, Max, Gaethje, Arman, Gamrot. Loads of good fights in there.
He'd be ragdolled at 170.
Definitely a 5-rounder. It's the title fight.
For people saying Chandler in it goes the distance. Over his whole career, Chandler is 17-3 in Rds 1+2, but on 6-5 once it goes past the second. 3 of those wins were in 2011 in Belator. He's never been built for distance. And being a decade older won't help.
I don’t think Chandler is as fit as a fiddle as the fight goes further, just likely he’s fitter and fresher than what Conor will be.
Is McGregor back getting tested?
Yeah, I got what you were saying.
I'm just pointing out that Chandler has never been for great in later rounds. His build is more power than endurance. Gettign older or the 2 year layoff won't have helped. McGregor's issues stamina issues, age, layoff, etc are all well know too.
Yeah. Been tested a few times in 2024.
There was an article from the start of the month on BBC Sport that said he had been tested 5 times in 2024 in the first three months of the year. The closest fighter to him for testing had only been tested twice.

spot on.
Mellor, what title is on the line?
The future 165lb title they’ll roll out if Conor wins.
Do they have reasons to be suspicious?
I think he as much as admitted himself that he was taking some sort of banned substance (HGH? Not sure) to aid his recovery from the leg break.
Should he be allowed fight if he was recently taking HGH?
Conor setting a deadline for when he goes off the drink, this fella isn't for real at all. He'll spend most the camp drying out.
I think that's one of the reasons there was a big delay to him coming back. He had to test negative for a certain amount of time before being allowed to fight again.
I can understand him doing whatever it takes to make the best recovery possible. A bad injury like that can really impact the rest of your life.
