Don't be to quick write that off as bluster, EU Laws have already been enacted in February to deal with it.
These laws have far reaching powers and will effect adults use of social media as well.

The report was conducted on 18–29-year-olds and focused on how they were impacted by some of the most pressing issues facing the country.
Housing was the most concerning issue for 67% of respondents with more than half of respondents reporting a rise in their rental or mortgage payments over the past year.
The cost of living was also the most pressing concern for 62% of respondents, with 44% of respondents feeling financially ‘worse off’ than last year.
Some 22% of respondents also said they 'skipped meals' due to cost in the last 12 months.
NYCI director of Policy and Advocacy Paul Gordon said the report’s findings were “alarming”.
“It should serve as a wake-up call to Government to address some basic unmet needs for young people,” he said.
The report also found one in two young people have low mental well-being in Ireland.

Now, do you put the onus on parents alone to police this or should some of this fall to the Social Media companies?

I'm not a parent, but it is parents buying smartphones for under 16's and as mentioned Parental Apps to control the content on the devices. As i linked earlier suggestions for the UK to ban under 16's use of smartphones. I don't think anyone should be on social media, who are not Internet savvy to use them properly.

She still lives in Meath, she didn't move, yes she moved constituency when the good people of Meath East gave her the boot in the last election. There is no way any person from Dublin who lives in Meath would support Meath, maybe they kids would but no way would the adults. Infact more kids would support Dublin.
Wasn't she born in Dublin but lived in Meath. Not that crazy that she would support two teams.

While many wouldn't give them an iota of trust, some will. Another 2-3% of support and they have the numbers to form the next government.
