The 8 years is irrelevant seems as you're highlighting the fact that I suggested the M1/M50 interchange area with a map I must have spent hours analyzing for the best location I could personally pitch to Elon when I meet him at the super Tesla fan convention next month.
Or you shelf the hyperbole and exaggerations and accept that the 8 years is irrelevant when put into context. I've been a Tesla customer for 18 months. The previous 6.5 years are irrelevant to me. You have no need to suggest BYD service centre locations if you are happy with their service offering now and into the medium term during your ownership, which is what actually matters.
So far, the service has held up well for me on the Tesla end, but that doesn't mean I can't make an observation and suggestion for what would work better for the company and the customer going forward. I don't see why you think it deserves to be twisted into some cultish, fanboi remark for simply putting a little effort into what I post, which by the way I do across all the forums I partake in here.
Whats this about Tesla being here 8 years and only having one service centre? Did they not only start selling cars here in 2019?
Also, Frank Keane are the ones operating MG here which explains their quick expansion
Tesla have 3 SC’s in Ireland
Model 3 in 2019 but the service Centre opened in Sandyford in 2017 to cater for Model S and Model X sales and servicing.
Pat Linders also has the MG brand here.
If you consider a screen shot of a google map with 3 squares drawn in MS paint a detailed map, i'm afraid you misunderstand what detailed means. It literally took less than a minute to provide such a detailed map. I'm just glad I didn't add numbers to the squares now 🤣
After driving a Highland last week I would probably be inclined to go for that, the suspension/quietness tweaks are worth it imo. The new interior is more modern, but I preferred a few bits in the older version.
Nothing much wrong with the older cars, always had a yearning for a P..
Wrong
Budget?
Less than 50k.
Me personally, I’d buy an older performance over a newer base model of either brand.
It's the long range models I'm looking at. But is the performance model worth it even though it's used? I never actually drove one.
I understand the highland would be better but a long range highland is a bit over budget plus the wait would be a killer. Well a month wait wouldn't be too bad but a couple of months wait is not something I would be too keen on.
Yeah, I would go with the new Highland over an old M3P if performance is not the most important thing.
Apparently BYD have more service centres, so you should consider those too, as that's much more important to some people than the actual car.
Personal choice. You really have to drive them and see which one you like best. You won’t get the LR Seal with the €50k as they are €52k to buy. And the RWD doesn’t really compare u less you compare it to the RWD Model 3.
Mh point about picking the older Performance was because the other option you mentioned was a LR but still older shape.
Id take a new highland RWD over an older Long Range if I needed the range as it’s more efficient.
They don't have a Ranger service though, which is about all I have used since I got my Model 3..
I don't actually need the range. It was just better performance from a Dual motor which happens to be a long range which is why I was picking those.
It was a question. No need to be a dick
Thank you. Forgot about S/X. Were they sold new here or are they all UK imports?
Questions are usually prefaced with 'what's this about Tesla being here 8 years' that's an Irish statement in a dismissive way.
Cmon lad. We both know. Heard that at enough elbows on the bar.
Some were sold new I believe.
I'm probably going to sell my model 3 performance in the next few weeks.
It's insanely quick. There is zero comparison between it and a rwd one. Even the long range won't get off the line like it. Overtaking is literally a blink.
Swings and roundabouts. Newer model is very nice and very economical. Older performance model is still a very good car.
I had an aero cover forced off when I hit a deep water patch at speed. Went back to recover it and a tractor had run over it.
Ordered a replacement on 4th August 23 - received in mid-October.
No updates provided. I sent multiple emails to the customer support asking for updates. They finally responded responded to emails on 30th October 23 stating they couldnt locate my order!!!
TLDR; If you order, dont expect to get it in a hurry.
If you want a replacement fast, you can buy one of my aero covers for whatever a new one is selling for. I only had them on for a few weeks before I put uber turbine covers on. They are in perfect nick. I want to keep a full original set though, otherwise I would just give you a cover for free. Based in North Dublin. PM me if you want.
Tesla were selling S from 2017, any reg prior to that is an import
Just in case you didn't know the Tesla M3 LR can get an OTA acceleration boost, the P will still be better 0-60 but from midspeed e.g. 50-110 the delta between the two is not huge
The number of M3’s for sale on donedeal continues to rise by the day - well over 80 now - theres clearly a lot of owners looking to sell privately ahead of their highland arriving. None of my saved ads seem to be selling though, bar a few of the cheaper low mileage ones.
Adaptive headlight update now downloading for my 221 model 3, it will be tomorrow night before I can check how it performs.....
there's a 2022 plate 60kW m3 in Limerick which i've been watching that has just dropped below 30k - good value in my opinion. in 6 months time i hope to see more examples as that's when i'd likely be in the market for a 2 year old m3.
That's a good price, stalks and USS too if 221 (and lifetime standard connectivity)
Stalks and USS also in 222 plate
ya its a 221 with LFP battery. i'd have contacted them only it just comes at the wrong time for me.

In case anyone's interested I ordered Finish Line NEU-106E Sonic Carbon Alloy Wheel touch up paint for 20" uberturbines off amazon a couple of weeks back and got to try it out today. Made the rookie error of not trialling it in an incnspicious area first. Bad mistake as its a far lighter shade of grey than original. Wheel looks worse now so will have to look for a better alternative.
That's a balls. Thanks for the post. I have damage to 2 of mine so need to find a good solution. Please keep us updated.
First drive using it, drove home late last night from work full beams on all the a way and nobody flashed, could see the light pattern doing it's thing. Also blocked out a cyclist going across the road from right to left in front of me as I was stopped at traffic lights. Seems very good, only time will tell though. Happy so far with it's performance 🙂
Still no sign of the update, one I am looking forward to. Mine is also a 2022 car, my updates usually come in fairly early. Have toggled between 'standard' and 'advanced' on updates page, no luck so far..
