|I see there is 400 jobs going nationwide for clerical officer in the Garda,
Just wondering does anyone have any idea what the pay is like or the hours

See warning on posting your actual number in post #306
Hi all, when completing your interview did most people just get an offer straight from there or an updated OOM?
I got an email saying I passed the interview but just for a new merit number. I applied for perm and temp so I got a number for each, both quite low (top 15)
New to boards 🙈
Anyone from Sligo know of the OoM that's been contacted so far? 🙈
Thanks for all the info everyone!
Well done, I hope you enjoy your new position and everything works out for you 😀
Just signed my contract today! 🎉
Best of luck to everyone!
My references were contacted within 3 days and given a start date the same week.
Sorry! I should have said that I have given my references and everything has been done. I've been given my start date and station but just haven't received my actual contract yet.
It's been 4 weeks since my formal offer and my Garda vetting (it was completed around 3 weeks ago), still haven't heard anything. The next step (from what I have heard) is checking references, which will probably be another few weeks waiting. Only after that (someone correct me if I'm wrong) do we get details on the job itself.
I'll update when I get more contact from them, but I'm not expecting reference checks to be done and to get a contract within the next month.
Has anybody else got the call to say that they have been given the job and their area? How long after that call did it take to get your contract? Still curious to see what days/times they are.
Yes my vetting cleared and I received the email this morning and sent of my references this afternoon
Was this after you had heard back from them regarding Garda vetting/clearance?
I sent of my references, and passport, how soon after this did people hear back? I was 2nd on OoM for my county
For those who have been offered their position: how long did it take from the formal job offer email, until an email with a start date and location?
I filled in all the Garda vetting forms on the day I got the email, and from the vetting website can see that the results were passed to the employer nearly 3 weeks ago, still haven't heard anything since...
I did the same thing 3 years ago. Left the corp world. Took a pay cut and lost my bonuses. I have never regretted my decision. Less stress and more flexibility. Can’t put a price on that :)
Thanks for the replies there. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed it.
Same for Clare, never heard anything since results and OOM.
I’m the same in Carlow so o assume they just haven’t gotten to our counties yet unfortunately
Anyone in Donegal heard anything yet. I haven't heard anything since the OoM before Christmas. I was quite high on it so was expecting to at least get an interview but no word yet. Have I been passed over or have they just not got to Donegal yet?
I am going to be doing Mon - Fri , 9-5.
I think there is flexitime but not 100% yet
I have been just offered a job in limerick, does anyone have ideas of the hours and days? Before I accept
I did it and didn't get anything back. It is very infuriating, yes!
Yeah that’s my frustration too. I’m ones of the first for my county so I know I’ll be called but not knowing if it will be in the next few weeks or in like a years time is what’s frustrating me.
i did for wexford and all I got back was a template “we are running through batches of interviews based on candidates order of merit. Should we reach your order of merit for you chosen county, we will contact you via the email provided”
so they don’t tell you were they are and it’s infuriating
Has anyone tried emailing to get any updates on their county or is there even a point?
wanting to get out of my current job so losing hope that this is going to come up soon and considering applying elsewhere
I had my interview in middle February and I haven't heard back since then. Someone else with no answers for so long in Dublin?
Zilch
Hi all,
I am top 10 on the panel for my county after passing the interview stage.
Does anyone have any experience on when I could hear something?
Just wondering has anyone heard from Limerick since the campaign was launched??
Not in the Gards but the place I was in offered Medical Aid to admin staff and it was expensive for a fairly basic package, especially if you’re on a CO salary. You’d be better off sourcing your own insurance.
Hopefully you'll hear soon.
Thanks very much, I will update soon.
That's great to know, thanks!
