True I used to listen to him the odd time and was good, he didn't have jp with him so maybe all that nonsense stuff is down to that combo.
Foley would welcome the morning slot and would be good for him. He has a different format than his afternoon show and it suits him better. He is less zany on morning times but still energetic and a good laugh.
No thanks. Foley is great in the afternoon. Without him the only shows I'd listen to on Today FM are BRB and Claire Beck at weekends.
He's a **** moron in the afternoon.
I agree...he was doing the same schtick with JP in the afternoons back in 2006...he needs to grow up.
Thing is, when he first joined TodayFm circa 2004, he did a late-night show called The Blast that I always listened to. He is much better on his own - I think him and JP drag each other down.
I don't mind Foley too much.
Got to say though, the drop-off in quality to the filler-in guys is really very stark. They've Paula Mac in for Ian all the past week. Shudder... that shrill hyperactivity in the morning is just *way too much*.
Then they've had Stephen Daly in for Foley. His style is very by the numbers... that was Rhiana, up next we have Sheeran, etc... he couldn't be more different from the guy he's filling in for. And his attempts at "content creation" seem forced and unnatural. And they still play out the "Ray Foley show" jingles... I would say Dara Q is a more natural filler-in for Foley.
You sound like great craic. Maybe you should move to RTE radio 1. Or start shouting at clouds.
Jp was on the blast as well ,wasn't he?
He was, under a different name - 'the bitch'!
"The bitch." Ha ha. Hilarious. So edgy.
The Classic 9 at 11 seems to be no more. It’s now called “Yesterday FM.” If you guess the year you could win a hotel stay.
Banterking alert!!
Noticed the name change last week...but it was called "Throwback Anthems." Have they changed it again?
Classic Hits have renamed CSI to "Back to the Future."
Irish radio is obsessed with hotel stays. It's a massive content filler for them.
In fact, when Jimmy Greeley was presenting it, it was called PSI (Pop Scene Investigation)!
Wasn't it that whole barter thing with RTE hotels gave rooms for exposure but also with other companies say they gave hotel rooms to companies for exchange of IT work things like that. No money changing hands.
Still playing this godamn song. Like, what the hell!!!!!!
I'm not sure how much longer I can take Dave and his "Do you wash your legs in the shower?" schtick. Let it go, Dave, let it go.
Yeah I'm at that stage too, and I hardly listen anymore.
I see Louise Cantillon off again today! lol
I never listen to Today FM, but sounds like recently the day time schedule is not very consistent.
One or more presenters are off .....
She is probably at a GAA wedding or corporate or social event, or something like creating a tik tok or Instagram post.
Switched over from the Hard Shoulder to see what was on The Last Word.
Matt tells me John Gibbons and Brianns Perkins are on the week trending.
Switched back over to Newstalk.
Her Instagram says she’s hosting the final of Junk Kouture. It’s probably another thing she booked in before she got the job.
You can’t blame someone for using their annual leave entitlement either.
This. I work in a team of 12. Looking at our roster, there's not been a week since the new year where everyone was in for the whole week. That's perfectly normal.
Sure relax for the weekend and we’ll see you on Monday for more whinging Ford Fiesta
Has he being asking that every day since his show started in September? I don't listen anymore but assumed the guest questions would change every so often.
That's his "shtick" question at the end of every interview.
I do love how he does the maths for us all on Music Master too, 4 plus 1 is....5, brilliant, thanks Dave.
Dave was always the guy you put up with because he's friends with Dermot. He was always a bit smug but I think he got a bit more insufferable when they got onto national radio.
I'll never understand how today fm thought he could do well on his own.
It's how he ends every interview (or at least the ones I've heard.) He obviously thinks it's a hilarious question that might give him a viral moment.
